Is the buffet on right now?

No. The most recent confirmed edition ran 21-24 July 2026 and ended on 24 July.

We re-checked on 21 September 2026, and nothing has moved. Baskin-Robbins Malaysia's own announcement feed still ends on exactly the entry it ended on two weeks earlier — the August 31DAY promotion — with no buffet entry anywhere in it. The brand's Facebook photo grid is running a KiddoPLAY tie-up, the Upin & Ipin collaboration and September's Flavor of the Month, not a buffet.

One caveat worth knowing before you read that as a verdict: the July buffet was never posted to the website announcement feed either. It ran on social media and in-store. So an empty announcement feed is not proof that no run is coming — it only means nothing has been announced yet.

It is worth watching for. Confirmed 2026 editions: 23-27 February, a June run billed as "back by popular demand", and 21-24 July. That works out to roughly one return every few months, usually announced only a week or two ahead on Baskin-Robbins Malaysia's Facebook and Instagram.

What Baskin-Robbins Malaysia is actually running right now

Checked against the brand's own announcement pages, live offer list and ordering menu on 21 September 2026. These are the offers carrying published dates:

Buy 1 Free 1 every Wednesday. The standing one, and the reason most people looking for the buffet should stop looking. It runs from 22 April 2026 all the way to 31 December 2026, on King Scoop only, through the B-R App or website. One redemption per user. It is not valid at Tun Razak Exchange (TRX), KidZania, Genting Premium Outlet or Genting First World Hotel, and it does not stack with your loyalty rebate or any other voucher.

Buy 1, get the 2nd at 30% off. Two vouchers sitting in the app's offer list — one for a Double Regular Scoop, one for a Milkshake Junior. Both show an expiry of 30 September 2026.

Happy Value Pack: a free cooler bag. New since our last check, and the one genuinely fresh thing in the line-up. It sits in the B-R offer list with an expiry of 22 September 2026, and the voucher artwork says only "Free Cooler Bag", with a single line of fine print: cooler bag size is subject to in-store availability. The full terms open only behind a B-R account log-in, so the bag is the confirmed part — ask at the counter which pack qualifies before you order.

Kids Scoop (Love Potion #31) at RM7.90. On the Limited Time menu at RM7.90 against a RM9.50 list price, with an on-page countdown that runs out on 21 September 2026 — which is to say it is effectively over by the time you read this. The two-scoop version, RM15.00 instead of RM19.00, was already showing as out of stock.

Upin & Ipin x Baskin-Robbins, running 7 August to 23 September 2026: Upin & Ipin Cup RM13.90, Waffle Bite RM16.90, Pint Bundle with an exclusive cooler bag RM49.90, and a 6-inch cake at RM138. The Upin & Ipin Watch is purchase-with-purchase — buy at least one Upin & Ipin product and you can add the watch (random out of two designs) at the PWP price. The pint bundle is sold as a set only and cannot be split.

31DAY: 31% off handpacked. The month-end one, and the best value in the whole line-up if you are buying to take home. Baskin-Robbins files it under the name "31 Day Early Access", and its own announcement archive now gives us three dated 2026 windows rather than two: 26-31 May, 26-31 July and 26-31 August, each at 31% off one individual handpacked Pint, Quart or Half Gallon, BR Member exclusive. There are two ways to take it, and the T&Cs spell both out: *Scan at Store*, where you tap Use Now, choose Scan at Store and show the QR code at the cashier; or *Use in App*, where you pick your outlet, add the handpacked item to the cart and apply the voucher on the Review Cart page. It does not apply to twinpacked items or combine with other promotions. No September edition had been posted as of 21 September, with five days left to run it. One detail worth holding if you are planning around it: September has 30 days, so a 26th-to-month-end window would be 26-30 September — five days, not the usual six.

Flavor of the Month, September 2026: Caramel Espresso Brownie — caramel ice cream with crunchy espresso pillows, a chocolate espresso swirl and brownie pieces. Still the current one on 21 September; no October flavour had been posted yet.

How the RM31 buffet works

Pay RM31 at the counter and you can keep ordering scoops across Baskin-Robbins' full flavour lineup until closing — the only rule is one scoop at a time, finish it before your next one. It runs nightly from 6pm to 9pm (last purchase 9pm; you can stay and finish eating until 10pm), at participating outlets nationwide. The KidZania outlet is excluded.

Proof of purchase is a wristband, handed out at the till. It is valid for one person, for one day only — it cannot be shared or passed to someone else, and it has to stay on for the whole visit.

Fine print

  • No sharing your buffet with someone who has not paid, and no takeaway — scoops are for eating in.
  • Cannot be combined with other discounts, vouchers or promotions. That includes the Wednesday Buy 1 Free 1 and the 31DAY voucher.
  • Children under 5 eat free when with a paying adult or guardian.
  • Flavours run on availability — popular ones can sell out during busy sittings, especially closer to 9pm on a weekend.
  • Not every Baskin-Robbins outlet is confirmed to be participating (past runs have included outlets such as Sunway Pyramid) — call your nearest outlet to confirm before you go, since a mall-specific listing is not the same as a nationwide guarantee.
  • Note the exclusion lists differ by offer. The buffet excluded only KidZania. The Wednesday Buy 1 Free 1 excludes four outlets: TRX, KidZania, Genting Premium Outlet and Genting First World Hotel.

Is RM31 actually worth it? The September 2026 maths

Here are Baskin-Robbins Malaysia's live menu prices, re-read off the brand's own ordering menu on 21 September 2026 — every one of them unchanged from our early-September check:

  • Kids Scoop (2.5oz) — RM9.50
  • Single Regular Cup (4oz) — RM12.50
  • Single King Cup (5oz) — RM15.50
  • Double Junior Cup (2 x 2.5oz) — RM15.50
  • Double Regular Cup (2 x 4oz) — RM24.00
  • Pint (12oz) — RM35.00
  • Quart (24oz) — RM67.50
  • Half Gallon (48oz) — RM130.00

That reprices the buffet. RM31 is two Regular scoops (RM25.00) plus change, so break-even lands on your third scoop — three Regulars would cost RM37.50 on the menu. Eat four or five and the buffet is comfortably ahead. Eat one, and you have overpaid by RM18.50.

But there is a sharper comparison, and it is the reason the buffet's absence matters less than it looks. RM31.00 is the exact menu price of two Single King Cups — 2 x RM15.50. Every Wednesday, the Buy 1 Free 1 voucher gives you those same two King scoops for RM15.50: half the buffet's price, no 6pm-9pm window, no queue, and no waiting for an event to come back. The buffet only wins if you can out-eat two 5oz King scoops in one sitting.

Worked examples at today's prices:

  • Wednesday Buy 1 Free 1 — two Single King Cups for RM15.50 instead of RM31.00. Saves RM15.50.
  • Buy 1, 2nd at 30% off — two Double Regular Cups for RM40.80 instead of RM48.00 (RM24.00 + RM16.80). Saves RM7.20.
  • 31DAY 31% off handpacked — a Pint for RM24.15 instead of RM35.00 (saves RM10.85), a Quart for RM46.58 instead of RM67.50 (saves RM20.93), a Half Gallon for RM89.70 instead of RM130.00 (saves RM40.30).
  • Buy 1, 2nd at 30% off, Milkshake Junior — two 12oz Milkshake Jr. for RM31.45 instead of RM37.00 (RM18.50 + RM12.95). Saves RM5.55, and lands within 45 sen of the buffet's RM31 for two drinks instead of unlimited scoops.

The Wednesday B-R app T&Cs state that prices are inclusive of 6% service tax, but the web ordering cart itemises SST (6%) as its own line under the subtotal — so read your total at checkout rather than assuming the menu figure is final.

The cheapest Baskin-Robbins in Malaysia is not a promo — it is the points ladder

This is the part that a buffet question usually skips past. B-R Rewards, the loyalty scheme inside the same app that carries the Wednesday voucher, pays 1 point for every RM1 you spend, and points buy whole products outright — not a discount off one, the item itself. Signing up is worth 10 points, completing your profile another 10, inviting a friend 5, and sharing a coupon 1.

Because every reward is priced in points and every product is priced in ringgit, each redemption has an exact effective rebate: the menu price divided by the points it costs. Read off Baskin-Robbins Malaysia's own rewards catalogue and ordering menu on 21 September 2026, those rates are not equal. The spread runs from 4.80% to 6.50% — a third more value for picking the right one.

What each reward costs, and what it is actually worth

  • Half Gallon (48oz) — 2,000 points. Menu RM130.00, so 6.50% back. The best redemption on the board.
  • Single Rg. Cup (4oz) — 200 points. Menu RM12.50, so 6.25% back, and the cheapest way in.
  • Double Jr. Cup (2 x 2.5oz) — 250 points. Menu RM15.50, so 6.20% back.
  • Milkshake Jr. Mix Your Own (12oz) — 300 points. Menu RM18.50, so 6.17% back.
  • Variety Pack 4 (4 x 4oz) — 800 points. Menu RM47.00, so 5.88% back.
  • Pint (12oz) — 600 points. Menu RM35.00, so 5.83% back.
  • Variety Pack 8 (8 x 4oz) — 1,500 points. Menu RM87.50, so 5.83% back.
  • Variety Pack 12 (12 x 4oz) — 2,200 points. Menu RM125.00, so 5.68% back.
  • Quart (24oz) — 1,200 points. Menu RM67.50, so 5.63% back.
  • Double Rg. Cup (2 x 4oz) — 500 points. Menu RM24.00, so 4.80% back. The worst rate here — spend your points on anything else.

The practical read is to bank points for the Half Gallon. Waiting until you have 2,000 sounds like a long game, but it is the same 2,000 points that would otherwise buy four Double Rg. Cups worth RM96 at menu price — the single Half Gallon at RM130 beats that by RM34 for identical points. If you would rather not wait, the 200-point Single Rg. Cup is the next-best rate and needs only RM200 of spend behind it.

One caveat we could not close from outside the app: the rewards catalogue is public, but the tier table behind Member Tiers — "spend more to move on to the next tier to earn more points" — renders only for logged-in members. A higher tier may well earn faster than 1 point per RM1, so treat every percentage above as the floor rather than the ceiling.

Who it suits — and who should skip it

Worth queuing for if you are a genuine four-or-five-scoop eater, or going with one; you want to work through flavours you would never commit a full scoop to; and a 6pm-9pm dinner slot suits you.

Skip it if you eat one or two scoops — the menu is cheaper. Skip it especially if you were going on a Wednesday anyway, because the standing Buy 1 Free 1 is better value and always available. Skip it if you want takeaway, and skip it if you were hoping to layer it with a voucher or your loyalty rebate, because the buffet blocks both.
