A staycation only works if the hotel gives you a reason to stay in the room, not just sleep in it. These eight all clear that bar — mostly on the strength of their pools, though a couple make the case on room size and view alone.
For the pool alone
If the pool is the whole point, three stand out. EQ Kuala Lumpur's 29th-floor infinity pool runs 25 metres with a full panoramic skyline view, plus a separate vitality pool and a Himalayan salt sauna. Traders Hotel's SkyBar pool on the 33rd floor faces the Petronas Twin Towers directly, and Banyan Tree's rooftop terrace — on a much smaller, boutique 55-room property — has an unobstructed view of the same skyline from a quieter, more design-led hotel.
For families
Grand Hyatt's pool deck is purpose-built for it: a proper adult pool plus a separate, shallower wading pool for children, with free cabanas. Impiana KLCC is the value pick of the group, connected by bridge to the KLCC malls, with connecting rooms and cribs on request. Pullman KL City Centre's 10th-floor rooftop garden and pool gives resort-style amenities at a hotel positioned more mid-range than the KLCC five-stars.
For room size and pure design
If the room itself is the point, the St. Regis KL has some of the largest standard room footprints in the city at 678 sq ft, and the Four Seasons' Specialty Suites are built with genuinely separate living and sleeping zones — useful for a family or a group splitting one booking.
