> Quick view: Econsave's Merdeka Bersama! Jimat Bersama! catalogue expired on 8 September 2026 and, as of 9 September, nothing has replaced it — the promotions page still serves the same five dead PDFs, and Econsave's own media library has not taken an upload since 28 August. Two other Econsave promotions are live. Istimewa 9.9 is a set of twelve in-store offers that Econsave says is valid only until 9 September, so today is the last day, and eight of the twelve are multi-buys rather than markdowns. Ceria Bersama Si Manja runs to 20 September 2026, needs a single receipt of RM40 or more across 29 baby brands, and is Peninsular Malaysia only.
What is actually live at Econsave today
Three Econsave mechanics were running into this week. Only two of them are still worth acting on, and the one everybody searches for is the dead one.
- Merdeka Bersama! Jimat Bersama! catalogue — dead. Four regional books, valid 28 August to 8 September 2026. Yesterday was the last day.
- Barangan Borong wholesale sheet — dead since 1 September. Still the linked file on Econsave's promotions page eight days later.
- Istimewa 9.9 — live, last day. Twelve offers posted to Econsave's Facebook page on 8 September, captioned *Sah sehingga 9 September je tau!* No catalogue, no PDF, no region stated.
- Ceria Bersama Si Manja — live to 20 September. A buy-and-win contest with 66 prizes, entered by WhatsApp, Peninsular Malaysia only.
Istimewa 9.9: twelve prices, and today is the last day
Econsave did not put the 9.9 offers on its website at all. They exist as a twelve-slide Facebook carousel posted on 8 September 2026, each slide a staff member holding the product with the price locked into the artwork. The caption is the only place the deadline appears: *Sah sehingga 9 September je tau! Jangan tunggu last minute, nanti terlepas.*
The comparison table above carries all twelve, with the effective per-unit price worked out where the offer forces you to take more than one.
Three of the twelve are flat single prices: Hershey's Kisses 82g assorted, Gatsby Cooling Facial Wash 100g assorted and Hero 99 Multipurpose Cleaner 1.8L/2L, all at RM9. On the Hershey's slide the shelf edge behind the product is legible: the printed tag reads 9.00, and the yellow strip beside it reads *LIMIT ? PER CUSTOMER* — the number itself is hidden behind the bag the staff member is holding. Assume a per-customer cap on the RM9 lines and ask at the shelf.
Hero 99 is the quiet winner of the flat-price group. At RM9 for a 1.8L or 2L bottle you are paying RM5.00 or RM4.50 a litre for a multipurpose disinfectant cleaner, and the slide shows both sizes at the same price, so take the 2L.
Eight of the twelve are multi-buys, not markdowns
This is the part that decides whether the trip is worth it. Only three offers give you a lower price on one unit. Everything else makes you carry more home.
Four are "buy N at RM9.90": Depai A5 exercise books and Apf Steincil 3in arch files are three for RM9.90, which is RM3.30 each; Pilot Acroball ballpens and Ambi Pur Car Gel 75g are two for RM9.90, which is RM4.95 each. The stationery pair is genuinely a back-to-school price — RM3.30 for a lever arch file is below what most bookshops charge for one.
Five are free-unit offers: Biho Bihun Beras Wangi 400g at RM3.20 buy one free one is RM1.60 a pack; Dove Body Wash 1L assorted at RM24.20 buy one free one is RM12.10 a litre; Jordan Buddy toothbrushes at RM6.20 buy one free one is RM3.10 a pack; Pertiwi Smoked Frankfurter 300g at RM7.80 buy two free one is RM2.60 a pack across three packs; Pureen Baby Oil 150ml at RM15.40 buy two free one is RM5.13 a bottle across three bottles.
The Jordan line has a wrinkle worth knowing before you queue. The product name on the card ends B2F1, and the pack in the photograph carries its own printed *Buy 2 Get 1 Free* flash — so the RM6.20 buy-one-free-one is stacking on top of a multipack that is already a multipack. Econsave has not published what counts as one unit here. Ask before you fill the trolley.
The RM9.90 grouping is not an accident either. Four offers land on RM9.90 and three on RM9 flat, which tells you the campaign was designed around the number nine rather than around a uniform depth of discount. Compare the per-unit numbers, not the headline.
Ceria Bersama Si Manja: 66 prizes, one RM40 receipt, Peninsular Malaysia only
The contest is the offer with real time left on it. It runs 31 July to 20 September 2026 — eleven days from today — and it is the only Econsave promotion this month that publishes a full prize schedule.
Entry is two steps, both printed on the campaign artwork:
- Buy and WhatsApp. Buy participating-brand products worth RM40 or more in a single receipt, then send your details and a photo of the receipt to 012-396 6519.
- Answer. The question is the statement *Peraduan Ceria Bersama Si Manja bermula daripada 31 Julai hingga 20 September 2026*, with two options, A. Betul and B. Salah. The dates are printed directly above the question on the same poster.
The prize schedule is 66 prizes in six tiers:
- 2 × Grand Prize — iPad Air M4 11-inch (256GB) plus an Econsave voucher worth RM2,000
- 3 × First Prize — Babyland SS2 baby store voucher worth RM2,000
- 3 × Second Prize — Econsave voucher worth RM1,000
- 10 × Third Prize — Sunway Lagoon Annual Passport for two people
- 30 × Consolation — Econsave voucher worth RM200
- 18 × Weekly — Toys"R"Us gift card worth RM500, three winners a week
Twenty-nine brands are named on the artwork's participation strip, and the list is broad enough that most baby-aisle trolleys already qualify: Anakku, Applecrumby, Aptamil, baby Carrie, Carrie Junior, Carrie Super Protect, Cutie, Dugro, Drypers, Diapex, Dutch Lady, Econsave Choice, E&S Baby, Friso, Genki, Huggies, hoppi, Johnson's, Lactogrow Aktif, Lactogrow Probio, Molfix, MamyPoko, Nestlé Cerelac, PetPet, Pureen, Raiya and Whoopee among them.
Which is where the two live promotions meet. Pureen is on both lists. Three Istimewa 9.9 Pureen Baby Oil sets cost RM46.20 and put nine 150ml bottles in the trolley — over the RM40 threshold, on a brand the contest names, at RM5.13 a bottle. That is the only clean way to play both offers in one visit, and it stops working at close of business today.
The RM42,000 checks out — at the Sunway pass sale rate, not its published one
The poster's headline is *hadiah bernilai lebih daripada RM42,000*. Price the schedule out and it lands at RM42,758, which is about as close to "just over RM42,000" as a marketing number gets.
- 2 iPads at RM3,899 (Apple Malaysia's own price for the 11-inch iPad Air Wi-Fi 256GB) = RM7,798
- 2 Econsave vouchers at RM2,000 = RM4,000
- 3 Babyland vouchers at RM2,000 = RM6,000
- 3 Econsave vouchers at RM1,000 = RM3,000
- 20 Sunway Lagoon Annual Passports at RM348 = RM6,960
- 30 Econsave vouchers at RM200 = RM6,000
- 18 Toys"R"Us cards at RM500 = RM9,000
The interesting line is the Sunway one. RM348 is Sunway Lagoon's current new sign-up price for a twelve-month Annual Passport, and Sunway's own page prints a published rate of RM968 per person beside it. Value the ten pairs of passes at that published rate instead and the prize pool becomes RM55,158. Econsave chose the conservative number, which is the right way round, but it also means the third prize is worth roughly RM696 a winner in cash terms rather than the RM1,936 the passes are nominally worth.
Two things about the contest are not published, and both matter. There is no terms and conditions document. The poster's asterisk sends you to *Terma dan Syarat peraduan di www.econsave.com.my*, but the Si Manja card on Econsave's contest page carries no Terms button, while older contests on the same page — the Nestlé one, the Raya one — still link theirs. Checked again on 9 September 2026. And the weekly draw does not cover the whole run: 18 weekly prizes at three winners a week is six weeks, against a contest that runs 52 days, or seven weeks and three days. Without a T&C document there is no way to tell which weeks are draw weeks.
Three promotions, three different maps
The most useful thing about looking at all three Econsave mechanics at once is that each one draws Malaysia differently, and only one of them tells you so on the front.
- The catalogue split the country four ways, and said so on every cover in small type: West Malaysia, Kuching, the Miri / Bintulu / Bintangor / Kidurong group, and Sabah, each valid only inside its own region. The West Malaysia edition even carried its own KPDN permit number, B.PgkSA(MS)2026/13728/39.
- Ceria Bersama Si Manja is Peninsular Malaysia only, and says so in the fine print: *Peraduan ini hanya sah di semua pasaraya Econsave di Semenanjung Malaysia.* Nine Econsave outlets — Kuching, Miri, Bintulu, Bintangor, Kidurong Central, Sandakan and three in Lahad Datu — are outside it.
- Istimewa 9.9 states no region at all. The Facebook post names no states, no formats and no outlets. Under the post, a commenter asks whether the offer is on in Kluang, Johor. Nobody from Econsave has answered.
Econsave's own store directory does not agree with itself about how many shops it has. The unfiltered list renders 229 store pages — 115 Hypermarket / Supermarket, 92 Pasar Ekonomi and 22 Econ2 — across thirteen states and federal territories, with Perlis, Putrajaya and Labuan absent. Set the store-type filter to Pasar Ekonomi, though, and only 90 come back, and every state filter together sums to 227. The two that no filter will show you are Pasar Ekonomi Econsave Klang Sentral (Jalan Klang Sentral 9/KU5, Kapar, 8.30am to 10.30pm, 03-3362 6121) and Pasar Ekonomi Kuala Selangor (Lot 766, Jalan Bernam, Pasir Penambang, 8am to 10pm), both in Selangor, both with live pages carrying an address and opening hours. If you use the filters — which is what the store finder is for — you will not find either. Nine of the 229 are in Sabah and Sarawak and all nine are the Hypermarket / Supermarket format, so 220 Peninsular outlets sit inside the contest's map and nine sit outside it. If you shop in East Malaysia, the only Econsave promotion of the three that was ever addressed to you is the one that died yesterday.
The catalogue that expired and was not replaced
Econsave normally posts the next catalogue before the current one dies. The file names on its own media library make the pattern plain: the M15 books went up on 30 July for a 31 July start, the M16 books on 13 August for a 14 August start, the M17 books on 26 August for a 28 August start. One to two days of overlap, every cycle.
This cycle it did not happen. On 9 September 2026, the promotions page still links WM_M17_2808-0809-Website.pdf, KUC_M17_2808-0809.pdf, MBBK_M17_2808-0809.pdf, SB_M17_2808-0809.pdf and the wholesale 2108-Wholesale-final-website-1.pdf. All five are expired. Econsave's media library has not accepted a new file of any kind since 28 August, and the chain's most recent Facebook post is the 9.9 carousel, not a catalogue announcement.
A short gap between cycles is not new — the M15 books ran to 11 August and the M16 cycle started on 14 August, so Econsave has skipped days before. What is new is that the gap is now being run with the dead PDFs left up as if they were current. If you are checking the promotions page today, you are reading yesterday's prices.
What the dead catalogue proved about carton prices
The M17 books are gone, but the arithmetic in them was the sort that repeats every cycle, so it is worth carrying forward into the next book whenever it appears.
Econsave prints two prices on many catalogue lines: a yellow tag for one unit, and a green tag underneath for the full carton. Across the twenty West Malaysia items that showed both, every carton saving fell between RM0.60 and RM2.60, with a median of RM1.40, and it made no difference whether the carton cost RM16 or RM237. Four cases of Yeo's Asian Drink saved RM1.20 on RM19.20, which is 6.3 per cent. A carton of 48 Econsave Mini Cocopuff packs saved RM0.60 on RM105.60, which is 0.6 per cent. Ten times the rate, on one sixth of the outlay.
The loose goods behaved completely differently. Kacang Kuda Hitam was RM5.90 a kilo loose and RM22.90 for 5kg, a 22.4 per cent saving. Saderi was RM3.99 a kilo loose and RM33 for a 10kg carton, 17.3 per cent. Kacang Merah ABC saved 15.7 per cent, Kobis Beijing 14.9 per cent, Cili Kering Gemuk 9.6 per cent, and even the weakest bag in the group, Ulunthu Belah Hitam, beat every packaged carton at 7.6 per cent.
The house brand won its aisles the same way. Econsave Charcoal Roasted White Coffee was RM10.99 for 15 × 35gm against Super Charcoal Roasted at RM11.90 for 15 × 16–21gm — cheaper pack, roughly double the powder, about RM20.93 a kilo against RM37.78 to RM49.58. Econsave Choice Mi Segera was RM0.70 a pack against Maggi SYIOK at RM1.44.
Carry three rules into the next book: buy loose goods by the sack, buy packaged goods by the piece, and check the house-brand shelf before the branded one.
Who should go today, and who should wait
Go today if you are stocking a baby aisle, a pencil case or a cleaning cupboard. The Pureen, Jordan and Pertiwi sets, the RM3.30 arch files and exercise books and the RM4.50-a-litre Hero 99 are all genuine, and all of them die tonight.
Go before 20 September if you were buying nappies, formula or baby toiletries anyway. A single RM40 receipt across 29 brands is a low bar, the entry is a WhatsApp message, and 66 prizes is a real schedule rather than a single grand prize.
Wait if you were driving out for the catalogue. There is nothing to drive out for until Econsave posts the next book, and on this cycle's evidence it may not post it a day before it starts. Check the promotions page for a file name that starts M18 rather than M17 before you go.
Skip entirely if you shop in Sabah or Sarawak and came for the contest. It is not open to you, and the 9.9 post does not say whether the twelve offers are.
The fine print that catches people
The contest is Peninsular-only and undated on the entry channel. The regional restriction is on the poster, not on the WhatsApp thread. If you are in Kuching or Lahad Datu, a qualifying receipt is not a qualifying entry.
There is no published T&C for Si Manja. The poster points at econsave.com.my for terms that econsave.com.my does not carry. Prize display, the poster adds, is *untuk tujuan ilustrasi sahaja* and may differ from the actual prize.
Istimewa 9.9 has no published scope. No region, no store format, no per-customer limit is stated in the post — only a date. The RM9 shelf tag photographed on the Hershey's slide carries a per-customer limit that the post does not mention at all.
The expired pages are still up. All five catalogue PDFs on the promotions page are out of date, and the wholesale sheet has been dead since 1 September. A price you quote from that page today will not scan.
The bag campaign is standing, not seasonal. Separately from all of this, Econsave's announcements page runs Kempen Tanpa Bag Plastic Di Econsave: the Lifetime Bag (Recycle Bag) sells at RM2.00 and is replaced free at any branch if it fades, tears or splits, deliberate damage excluded, while stocks last. That one is not tied to any campaign window.
Everything above was read on 9 September 2026 from Econsave's own channels: the promotions page, the contests page, the store directory and the chain's Facebook page. Prize values are checked against Apple Malaysia's and Sunway Lagoon's own published prices.
