> Quick view: Giant's 82nd anniversary catalogue, with buy the second at 50% off and the RM1 purchase-with-purchase, ran 1 to 14 October 2026 and has ended. Giant is still celebrating "82 Tahun Bersama", and three things are live on 20 October 2026. First, an Ulang Tahun 82 fresh board for Monday 19 to Thursday 22 October, with China Fuji apples and lemons at RM0.99 each. Second, a Promosi Hebat Deepavali flyer for 15 to 28 October, covering spices, rice, ghee, baking items and hampers. Third, the 82 Tahun Bersama contest to 11 November: spend RM30 with two sponsor-brand items for a chance at one of 100 RM1,000 Giant vouchers.

Ulang Tahun 82 fresh board: 19 to 22 October

The cover card reads "Valid from 19-22 Oct 2026". That is Monday to Thursday, so it is a weekday board. The weekend Harga Hangat flash (16 to 18 October) has already ended. Eight cards, one item each:

  • China Fuji apple: RM0.99 each
  • Lemon: RM0.99 each
  • China potato: RM1.99/kg
  • Local pumpkin: RM2.39/kg
  • White garlic: RM6.49/kg
  • China sugar plum 350g: RM5.99 a pack
  • Chicken boneless breast: RM14.99/kg
  • Sotong Jarum 4/6: RM20.99/kg

No card prints a purchase cap, and none needs a member card. The apples and lemons are priced per piece, not per kilo, so a small apple costs the same as a big one. Pick the largest on the shelf.

Promosi Hebat Deepavali: 15 to 28 October

Giant posted three pages, each headed "Promosi Hebat Deepavali, 15 - 28 Oktober 2026". The small print says the offers are subject to terms and conditions and run while stocks last. Deepavali itself is on Sunday 8 November, so the flyer ends 11 days before the festival. Do the festive cooking shop before 28 October.

Spices and rice. Baba's curry powder assorted 250g RM5.65, Baba's turmeric powder 250g RM6.49, Baba's chilli powder 250g RM6.99, Baba's muruku mix flour 500g RM6.19, Baba's dhall 500g RM4.89 and Baba's roasted mung bean flour 500g RM7.39. For rice: Sunflower Pure Basmathi Premium Pusa 1121 Cream 5kg RM32.90, Sunflower Herbal Ponni rice 5kg RM27.90, Saga Basmathi Istimewa 5kg RM27.90, Sunflower Japonica Calrose 5kg RM25.90 and Royal Umbrella fragrant rice 10kg RM46.99.

Baking and ghee. Cap Lili all-purpose flour 850g RM2.59, MFM self-raising flour 850g RM4.29, Blue Key self-rising flour 1kg RM4.79, Daisy margarine 480g RM8.59 and Buttercup luxury spread tub 1kg RM17.99. For ghee: Besfoods blended ghee 400g RM13.69, Enricos pure ghee 400g RM28.99, and QBB pure ghee at RM12.99 for 150g or RM32.39 for 400g. The smaller items: Kings baking powder 110g RM2.79, Kings bicarbonate of soda 120g RM2.29, Delfi chocolate syrup 350ml RM12.99, Delfi unsweetened cocoa powder 180g RM13.99, and Star Brand food colouring and flavouring 25ml RM2.50.

Snacks and hampers. Sinar handmade prawn rolls 300g RM12.99 and Sinar rempeyek kacang 400g RM21.99. Sinar homestyle cookies (oatmeal, peanut, yam, 440g to 550g) start from RM9.99, and Sinar kerepek ubi (500g to 1kg) from RM15.99. Ready-made hampers from KISE come in three sizes: a pyramid netting hamper at RM79.90, a larger pyramid netting hamper at RM119, and a Gift Set Premium hamper at RM129.

Ghee is where the gap is widest. QBB pure ghee 400g costs RM8.10 per 100g. Besfoods blended ghee 400g costs RM3.42 per 100g, under half as much, but it is a blend and not pure ghee. For murukku or deep-frying the blend will do. For ladoo, mysore pak or anything where the ghee is the flavour, most cooks will want pure ghee. Between the two pure ghees on the page, Enricos 400g at RM28.99 is RM3.40 cheaper than QBB 400g.

Rice per kilo: Royal Umbrella 10kg works out to RM4.70/kg, Saga Basmathi Istimewa to RM5.58/kg, and Sunflower Pusa 1121 to RM6.58/kg. Pusa 1121 is the long-grain basmati for biryani. Royal Umbrella is fragrant white rice, not basmati, so these are not like-for-like.

The 82 Tahun Bersama contest: 100 RM1,000 vouchers

Giant's Instagram post of 7 October sets the rules:

  1. Spend at least RM30 in one receipt at Giant.
  2. Make sure the receipt has at least two products from the main sponsor brands.
  3. Scan the QR code in store, or open the entry link bit.ly/4hLYj6f, which goes to a Google Form.

The contest runs 8 October to 11 November 2026, and 100 winners each take home an RM1,000 Giant gift voucher. Giant's post does not name the sponsor brands. The contest poster shows a row of brand logos, so check the in-store poster before you shop. Keep the physical receipt until the winners are announced.

Two smaller brand contests, also to 31 October

  • Munchy's or Jack 'n Jill: spend RM10 on either brand in one receipt and scan the QR code. Then WhatsApp a clear photo of the receipt with your full name and MyKad number to +6014-594 2238. The prize is Giant vouchers.
  • Bad Lab: spend RM10 on Bad Lab products, snap the receipt and WhatsApp it to 016-700 9212.

Worked examples

A weekday fresh run (19 to 22 October): six Fuji apples RM5.94, two lemons RM1.98, 2kg potatoes RM3.98 and 1kg boneless chicken breast RM14.99. That comes to RM26.89. It is RM3.11 short of the contest's RM30. A 1kg bag of local pumpkin (RM2.39) and 500g of garlic (about RM3.25) take it to about RM32.53. To count for the contest, two of those items would still need to be sponsor-brand products, and loose produce usually isn't.

A Deepavali cooking basket (by 28 October): Royal Umbrella 10kg rice RM46.99, Baba's curry powder RM5.65, Baba's chilli powder RM6.99, Besfoods blended ghee RM13.69 and Cap Lili flour RM2.59. That is RM75.91, which clears the RM30 contest threshold on one receipt, if two of the items are from sponsor brands.

Who this suits, and who should skip it

It suits anyone cooking for Deepavali open houses who wants the spices, rice and ghee in one trip before 28 October, and anyone who buys fruit by the piece. RM0.99 Fuji apples are cheap for the size.

Skip the hampers if you only want the contents. A KISE hamper's price includes the netting and the presentation, and the flyer doesn't list what is inside. Price the tins on the snack page (from RM9.99) against the RM79.90 hamper before deciding.

Skip the contest maths if you would not otherwise spend RM30. One hundred vouchers across every Giant in the country is a long shot. Treat it as a bonus on a shop you were doing anyway.

The fine print

  • Fresh board: valid 19 to 22 October 2026. No caps are printed, and no stores are listed. The cards say only "Giant".
  • Deepavali flyer: valid 15 to 28 October 2026, subject to terms and conditions, while stocks last. Two prices are "from" prices: Sinar cookies RM9.99 to RM11.99, and kerepek ubi from RM15.99 depending on pack size.
  • Contest: 8 October to 11 November 2026, RM30 minimum in one receipt, at least two sponsor-brand items, entry through the QR code or form. The full terms sit behind the same bit.ly link.
  • Wall's payday deal: in September Giant called its 27%-off Wall's 750ml tubs a payday sale "every 27th of the month". If it repeats, the next one is Tuesday 27 October 2026. Giant had not announced it by 20 October.

82nd anniversary catalogue, 1 to 14 October 2026. A 49-page catalogue built on buy the second at 50% off. Milo Intense 10 x 33g was RM16.50, then RM8.25 for the second. Anlene Gold 5X Cholestopro 480g was RM26.80, then RM13.40. On a receipt of RM50 or more, you could add a Cadbury Dairy Milk 85g and a Shoon Fatt Peanut Butter Sandwich 175g for RM1 each. It ran alongside weekend boards on 2 to 4 October (Cap Rambutan 1kg rice buy 1 free 1 at RM6.50, Magnolia Mag-A-Cone buy 1 free 1 at RM2.90) and grocery boards on 2 to 8 October (Beras Kampung 10kg RM26.99).

Harga Hangat, 16 to 18 October 2026. A weekend flash list of household and fresh items. It ended on Sunday.

Jom Kopi Dulu, 26 September to 2 October 2026. Fifteen coffee prices, led by Indocafe Coffeemix 3-in-1 100 x 20g at RM37.99.

What we checked

Checked on 20 October 2026. giant.com.my timed out on every attempt, as it has on and off since 5 September, so every price above was read off the cards on Giant Malaysia's own Facebook page. That means the Ulang Tahun 82 cover and its eight product cards, plus the three Promosi Hebat Deepavali pages.
