> Quick view: Giant ran three September price lists, not two. Harga Hangat, Jimat Hari Ini was a three-day flash list of ten items, 4 to 6 September 2026, and it is now over. I Love Malaysia is the Malaysia Day catalogue, valid 3 to 16 September 2026, and it is the only dated list still running. Harga Rendah Lebih Lama is a standing everyday-price programme Giant pushed again on 4 September 2026, and it publishes no prices and no dates at all. The awkward part: giant.com.my refused connections on both 5 and 6 September 2026, so the one list that is still live is the one you currently cannot open.

Three lists, three different amounts of information

The flash list, now closed. Giant put the weekend list on its own Facebook and Instagram accounts, and the caption sets the window plainly: "tawaran istimewa ini di Giant dari 4 - 6 September 2026". The post carries ten product cards, one price on each, and every single card repeats the same footer line in Malay: "Sementara stok masih ada. Tertakluk pada terma dan syarat" (while stocks last, terms and conditions apply). Those ten prices ran out on Sunday 6 September and are kept below as a record of what Giant was willing to publish.

The catalogue, still running. The second list lives on Giant's own website, filed under promotions as the "Love Malaysia (3 - 16 Sept)" catalogue. Its cover page carries the I Love Malaysia lockup and the line "Valid From: 3 - 16 September 2026", which means it outlives the weekend list by ten days.

The third list, which nobody counts. On 4 September 2026 Giant pushed a five slide carousel headed "Harga Rendah Lebih Lama: Apa Yang Promo?" (lower price for longer: what is on promotion?). It is not a dated campaign at all. It is Giant's standing everyday-price programme, and the carousel answers four follower questions with products instead of numbers.

What Harga Rendah Lebih Lama actually names

The four questions and Giant's four answers, read off the slides:

Amir asks about cooking ingredients, and Giant answers with a Mi Sedaap Mi Goreng multipack and Jasmine Sunwhite fragrant rice. Nora asks for baby items, and Giant answers with Drypers DryPantz Pants size L, 9 to 14kg, 48's and Dutch Lady 1.2.3 850g. Aisyah asks about household essentials, and Giant answers with Kotex Comfort & Protection All Night 32cm, 36 pads in a 3 x 12 value pack, and a Softlan Sunshine Bloom fabric softener refill. Mei Ling asks about drinks and snacks, and Giant answers with 100PLUS and the Mamee Monster BBQ Pek Besar 10 pack.

Eight named products across five slides, and not one ringgit figure on any of them. No start date, no end date, no store list, no cap. That is a programme you cannot plan a basket around from home; it tells you which aisles Giant thinks are worth a look, and the shelf label tells you the rest.

Giant's own website is down

This is the part that changes how you use everything above. On 5 September 2026 giant.com.my stopped responding partway through our first check. On 6 September 2026 it was still not answering: connections to both port 80 and port 443 time out rather than returning an error page, from a browser and from the command line alike.

The domain itself is fine. It still resolves, to 43.228.246.11. The server behind it is simply not accepting traffic, and every Giant subdomain we tried behaved identically.

The consequence is uncomfortably neat. Giant's only September list with published prices that is still running, the I Love Malaysia catalogue, exists only on that host, and Giant has not mirrored it to any other channel. Its Facebook and Instagram accounts are posting normally, which is where the flash cards and the Harga Rendah Lebih Lama carousel came from, but neither carries the catalogue. Until the site returns, the shelf label in the store is the only place the catalogue prices can be read.

The ten weekend prices, in full

The Harga Hangat post publishes exactly ten prices, and nothing else. There is no percentage, no "up to", no minimum spend and no member gate. Here is the entire list, with the per-unit maths worked out by us so you can see which ones are actually cheap:

Fresh food. China Red Globe grapes 500g at RM4.49 per pack (RM8.98 a kilo). Vanamei prawns, 60's to 70's count, at RM24.99. Fresh Eggs Grade B, tray of 30, at RM13.99 per tray (about RM0.47 an egg).

Pantry. ecoBrown's Sella Cream 1121 Parboiled Basmathi Rice 5kg at RM29.85 (RM5.97 a kilo). Ramly Chicken Nugget 1kg at RM15.99. Dutch Lady UHT Milk, full cream or low fat, 4 x 1L at RM21.99 per pack (RM5.50 a litre). Dugro Formula Milk 3, 4 or 5, assorted, 850g at RM24.50 (about RM2.88 per 100g).

Household. Colgate toothpaste assorted, 2 x 225g, at RM18.49 (RM9.25 a tube). Breeze Liquid Detergent assorted 3.6kg at RM17.95 (RM4.99 a kilo), limited to 2 per person. Sunlight Dishwash Liquid assorted 800ml at RM4.79 a bottle (RM0.60 per 100ml), also limited to 2 per person.

Buy one of each of the ten and the receipt comes to RM177.03. Only two items in the list carry a purchase limit, and both are Unilever cleaning products.

What the Malaysia Day catalogue opens with

The catalogue's published cover page prints four prices, and they are the four Giant chose to lead with: Able Farm UHT Full Cream Milk 1L at RM4.99, QL Brain+ Eggs 15's in size Medium at RM11.99, Kashmir Basmathi Rice 5kg at RM28.99, and Macro Value Luxurious Kitchen Towel 2 ply 8 rolls at RM11.99 (RM1.50 a roll). Those four alone come to RM57.96.

One number on that page is worth reading twice. The Kashmir 5kg pack has its own retail price printed on the bag by the manufacturer, Syarikat Faiza Sdn Bhd of Batu Pahat: HARGA RUNCIT RM39.80. Giant's catalogue price of RM28.99 is RM10.81 under that printed figure, or 27 per cent off. Note what that comparison is and is not: it is a discount against the price printed on the packaging, not against whatever Giant normally charges for it.

Where the two lists collided

Three categories appeared on both lists, and in two of them the fourteen-day catalogue beat the three-day flash. This is the opposite of what a "flash weekend" label suggests, and it is worth keeping in mind the next time Giant runs a weekend list against a live catalogue.

On basmati rice, the catalogue's Kashmir 5kg at RM28.99 is RM0.86 under the weekend's ecoBrown's 5kg at RM29.85, and it stays on shelf ten days longer. On milk, the catalogue's Able Farm at RM4.99 a litre is RM0.51 a litre under the weekend's Dutch Lady four pack, so four litres cost RM19.96 instead of RM21.99. On eggs, the weekend wins and wins big: a 30 egg Grade B tray at RM13.99 works out to about RM0.47 an egg against about RM0.80 for the QL Brain+ 15 pack, and buying 30 QL eggs would cost RM23.98.

These are different brands and different specifications, not the same item priced twice. QL Brain+ is a fortified branded egg and Grade B is a plain graded egg, and ecoBrown's parboiled Sella Cream is not the same rice as Faiza's Kashmir. The comparison tells you which basket is cheaper, not which product is better.

What is still worth a trip, now that the weekend is over

The eggs were the weekend's real win and they went with it: a 30 egg Grade B tray at RM13.99 has no equivalent on the catalogue, where 30 QL Brain+ eggs would cost RM23.98. If you missed it, there is nothing on the surviving list that replaces it.

What is still worth going for runs to 16 September: Kashmir Basmathi 5kg at RM28.99, which is RM10.81 under the RM39.80 the manufacturer prints on the bag, and Able Farm UHT 1L at RM4.99, which is RM0.51 a litre cheaper than the weekend's Dutch Lady four pack was. Both were the right call to wait for, and both are still there.

The cleaning supplies were the other weekend win, and the two items Giant capped at 2 per person, Breeze 3.6kg at RM17.95 and Sunlight 800ml at RM4.79, are also gone. Softlan appears on the Harga Rendah Lebih Lama slides, but with no price attached, so there is no way to know from home whether it replaces them.

One more Giant offer is running alongside all of this and does not expire with the catalogue: a free 18cm Luminarc bowl on RM40 of Anchor, Chesdale and Perfect Italiano, which runs to 30 September.

The fine print that trips people up

Neither flyer names a single outlet. The Facebook caption says "di Giant" and the catalogue says nothing about branches, so there is no published list of participating stores and no published exclusion for East Malaysia either way. Ring your branch before driving out for one item.

The prawn card prints no unit. Every other card says per pack, per tray, per bottle or gives a weight. The Vanamei card gives a count grade (60's to 70's, meaning prawns per kilo) and the bare figure RM24.99, with no "per kg" or "per pack" marking. Check the chiller label before you assume.

"While stocks last" is doing real work on a three day promotion. It is printed on all ten cards, and by Saturday morning the loss leaders on a weekend flash list are the first things to go.

The terms link is generic. The T&C link in Giant's own post resolves to giant.com.my/terms-conditions/, which is the website's general terms page rather than a campaign specific document, so the ten cards themselves are the only fine print Giant has published for this offer.

What we checked, and what we still cannot

Re-checked on 6 September 2026. The ten flash prices were re-read off Giant's own Facebook and Instagram cards and are unchanged. The Harga Rendah Lebih Lama carousel was read slide by slide at full resolution off Giant's own Instagram post of 4 September 2026. The website outage was confirmed three separate ways: a browser, a command line request, and a direct connection test to port 80 and port 443, all of which time out.

What we still cannot check is the body of the Malaysia Day catalogue. Beyond the four prices on its cover page, which we captured on 5 September before the site went down, the rest of it has never been readable to us, and it is not mirrored on Giant's social accounts. We also found no successor flash list posted as of the evening of 6 September 2026; Giant's most recent post at that point was a recipe, not a promotion. Prices are as published by Giant; always check the shelf label.

The catalogue page, Love Malaysia (3 - 16 Sept), and the promotions hub at giant.com.my/promotions, were both unreachable at the time of writing.
