> Quick view: for International Coffee Month, McDonald's Malaysia is taking a McCafé coffee truck to seven public spots between 10 and 31 October 2026 and giving away 10,000 free lattes in total. You also get a free sample of the new Spanish Iced Latte, plus games and prizes at the truck. The first stop is Central Market, Kuala Lumpur, this Saturday from 10am to 8pm.

What McDonald's announced
McDonald's Malaysia put the campaign on its own promotions page and its Instagram account on 8 October 2026 under the name Port Lepak McCafé. "Port lepak" is Malaysian slang for your usual hangout spot, and the set-up matches: the posters show a yellow McCafé truck serving coffee, bean bags and a parasol for sitting around, and a "Spin Dulu!" prize wheel.
The official posters list three things you can get at each stop:
- a free latte, out of a total of 10,000 free coffees for the whole campaign
- a free sample of the new Spanish Iced Latte (Spanish Latte Ais), a latte sweetened with condensed milk
- activities and prizes at the truck
Both posters carry the usual lines that products shown are for illustration only and that terms and conditions apply. McDonald's has not published those terms separately, and there is no app sign-up or purchase mentioned anywhere in the announcement.
The seven stops and dates
McDonald's official promotion page lists the full schedule:
- Saturday 10 October: Central Market, Kuala Lumpur, 10am to 8pm
- Sunday 11 October: Amcorp Mall, Petaling Jaya, 10am to 5pm
- Tuesday 13 October: NU Sentral, Kuala Lumpur, 10am to 6pm
- Saturday and Sunday 17-18 October: Tebing Bandar Dato' Onn, Johor
- Saturday and Sunday 24-25 October: Hin Bus Depot, George Town, Penang
- Friday 30 October: Teluk Cempedak, Kuantan
- Saturday 31 October: East Coast Mall, Kuantan
The hours above come from McDonald's own poster, which only covers the three Klang Valley stops. The Johor, Penang and Kuantan hours have not been announced yet, so check the McDonald's Malaysia Instagram the day before you go.
All three Klang Valley stops are next to a rail station. Central Market is a short walk from the Pasar Seni LRT and MRT station, Amcorp Mall is beside Taman Jaya LRT, and NU Sentral sits on top of KL Sentral. That makes the KL stops easy to reach without fighting for parking on a weekend.
How it works on the day
- Turn up at the truck during the published hours. Earlier is better, because the 10,000 cups are a campaign-wide total, not a daily one.
- Queue for your free latte at the truck. McDonald's has not said whether it is hot or iced, so expect whatever the truck is serving that day.
- Ask for the Spanish Iced Latte sample while you are there. It is the new drink McDonald's is promoting, and the sample is listed as a separate freebie.
- Have a go at the prize wheel and any other activities, then stay and lepak if there is space.
The posters do not mention a limit per person, but with a fixed number of cups, assume one each and don't plan on collecting for the whole office.
What it is worth
McDonald's does not publish McCafé menu prices online, so the best yardstick is what you would pay elsewhere. According to the New Straits Times in September 2026, ZUS Coffee's CEO Latte is RM9.90 and a Starbucks Caffe Latte is about RM15 to RM15.90.
- One person: a free latte saves you roughly RM10 against a ZUS latte and about RM15 against Starbucks.
- A family of four on the Saturday at Central Market: four free lattes are worth around RM40 at ZUS prices, or up to about RM63 at Starbucks prices.
- How many cups a day: if the 10,000 cups were split evenly across the nine event days, that would be about 1,100 cups a day. McDonald's has not said how it divides them, but a stop with an evening crowd will not have many left by 7pm.
This is a nice weekend freebie, not a big saving. It is worth a detour if you are already near one of the stops, but not worth a long drive on its own.
Pair it with this week's McDonald's deals
If you are making a trip of it, two other McDonald's Malaysia offers are running at the same time, according to the brand's own posts:
- From 8 to 14 October, the McD App is selling a 6pc Chicken McNuggets McValue Meal (M) for RM10 as part of its Birthday Fiesta, along with a Grimace coin purse for 150 points plus RM20.
- From 8 October, every Kombo Family Feast A or B comes with a limited-edition Grimace tote bag, from 10am daily while stocks last.
Neither deal is linked to the free latte, so you don't need to buy anything to get the coffee.
Who it's good for, and who should skip it
Good for: KL and PJ office workers who can stop by NU Sentral on Tuesday 13 October; families already heading to Central Market or Amcorp Mall at the weekend; Penang visitors exploring the Hin Bus Depot area on 24-25 October; and Kuantan residents, who get a beach stop at Teluk Cempedak and a mall stop at East Coast Mall.
Skip it if: you are outside these seven areas, since there is no Sabah, Sarawak, Perak, Melaka or northern stop. Skip it too if you only drink decaf or want a specific drink, because the giveaway is the latte the truck serves.
Fine print that trips people up
- It is not at McDonald's restaurants. The free latte is only at the Port Lepak McCafé truck on the listed dates. Your local McCafé counter is not part of it.
- 10,000 is the total for the whole campaign. Late arrivals on the last day of each stop may find it has run out.
- Hours vary. Amcorp Mall closes at 5pm, three hours earlier than Central Market.
- Haze can change plans. On 8 October McDonald's postponed a takraw playoff it sponsors in Seremban because of worsening haze. Teluk Cempedak and Tebing Bandar Dato' Onn are outdoor venues, so check McDonald's Instagram before heading out.
- Terms and conditions apply, but McDonald's has not published them. If staff limit cups or ask you to follow the account, that is their call.
