> Quick view: MR.DIY's two Merdeka campaigns are over — Bersama Satu Promosi and the Merdeka Riuh Sale both closed on 31 August 2026 and now sit in MR.DIY's "Past Promotions" list. What replaced them, both running 1 to 30 September 2026, are Jom Beli Barangan Malaysia (the buy-local storewide flyer) and the Gemilang Toy Fiesta. The RM40 Purchase-With-Purchase is still live and is still the best-value line of the month: a 1250ml Cold Cup at RM15.90 against a normal RM33. And the East–West price gap has widened — in September, every single one of the 33 lines that appears in both regional flyers costs more in Sabah and Sarawak, including MR.DIY's own house-brand pail.
What ended, and what replaced it
MR.DIY's promotions page now files Bersama Satu Promosi 2026 and the Merdeka Riuh Sale 2026 under Past Promotions, both dated 1 to 31 August 2026. So does PWP USB Fan 2026 (1 July to 31 August) and the long-running MR D.I.Y. Corporate Sale (1 November 2025 to 31 August 2026). The flag-and-flyer pricing that made August worth a trip is genuinely gone.
Two September campaigns took their place, and both run the full month:
Jom Beli Barangan Malaysia 2026, 1 to 30 September 2026. This is the storewide flyer, and its framing is buy-local — MR.DIY's own Malay copy asks shoppers to *sokong produk tempatan*. As in August it is published as two catalogues, one headed Semenanjung Malaysia and one headed Sabah & Sarawak.
Gemilang Toy Fiesta 2026, 1 to 30 September 2026. The toy campaign, split the same way August's was — one flyer for MR.DIY stores and a longer one for MR.DIY PLUS.
Jom Beli Barangan Malaysia: what is actually in it
The Peninsular catalogue runs to five pages and 37 priced lines; the Sabah & Sarawak catalogue runs to five pages and 33. Most lines carry MR.DIY's printed normal price (NP) and, new this month, a printed discount percentage badge, so every claim on the page is checkable without arithmetic.

The East–West gap has stopped being a snack story
In August, MR.DIY served the same flag page to both regions, so at least one section of the flyer was priced nationally. That is no longer true. In the September catalogue there is no shared page at all — the two flyers are priced separately from the cover item down, and every one of the 33 lines that appears in both is more expensive in Sabah and Sarawak. Not one is cheaper. Not one is equal.
The gap runs from RM0.40 to RM3.10 per line, or roughly 5 to 17 per cent. It is widest on MR.DIY's own house-brand plasticware: the 4 Gallon Pail is RM5.90 in the Peninsular flyer and RM6.90 in the Borneo one, a 17 per cent difference on a product carrying MR.DIY's own name.
Four Peninsular lines have no Sabah & Sarawak equivalent at all, and two of them are the campaign's best offers: the Farm Fresh Moola Choco Malt buy 1 free 1 (50 per cent) and the Indomie Pop Spageti buy 3 @ RM2.60 (28 per cent). Royal De Dolton Chocolate Layer and T&G 72% Dark Chocolate with Cream are the other two. So Borneo shoppers do not merely pay more on the shared lines — they are not offered the two deepest discounts in the campaign.
MR.DIY does not explain the split anywhere on the campaign page. Freight and distribution to East Malaysia are real costs and the pattern is normal for national retail. The practical point stands regardless: a price quoted in a nationwide article is not necessarily the price on your shelf, and the flyer you should be reading is the one headed with your own region.
The RM40 PWP is still the best line of the month — and it does not change price in Borneo
The Purchase-With-Purchase offer survived the Merdeka campaigns intact and is unchanged:
- Cold Cup, 1250ml, SKU 8979790 — RM15.90, NP RM33. Anti-lost cap design, removable filter, leak-proof, large capacity.
- Stainless Steel Lunch Box, 1280ml, SKU 8979773 — RM23.90, NP RM53. 304 stainless steel, leak-proof, supplied with tableware.
Spend a minimum of RM40 in a single receipt and you may add either or both. MR.DIY's artwork states "Buy More, No Quantity Limit", so this is not one per customer.
Two things changed in your favour this month. First, MR.DIY publishes one PWP flyer with no regional version, so RM15.90 and RM23.90 are the prices in Kota Kinabalu and Kuching as well as in Klang. In a campaign where everything else is gapped, the PWP is the one line that is genuinely national.
Second, the calendar has flipped. In August the Peninsular could stack the PWP with the storewide flyer and Borneo could not, because the East Malaysian PWP window opened on 1 September — the day the Merdeka flyer died. In September both regions have the PWP and the storewide flyer live at the same time, and East Malaysia keeps the PWP for a further two weeks after Jom Beli ends: West Malaysia 15 August to 30 September, East Malaysia 1 September to 14 October 2026. For once, Borneo gets the longer runway.
Three worked baskets
1. The threshold basket. Rattan Stool, 4 Gallon Pail, Ajax Fabuloso 2L and Softlan refill come to RM38.60 in the Peninsular flyer — RM1.40 short of the PWP threshold. The identical four items in Sabah and Sarawak come to RM42.60, which clears it. Adding a DAY's Dishwashing Paste tips the Peninsular basket to RM42.90 and the Borneo one to RM47.30. It is a strange piece of arithmetic: the East Malaysian shopper reaches RM40 on four items where the Peninsular shopper needs five, purely because everything costs more.
2. The cleaning restock that unlocks the PWP. Shieldtox twin pack (RM17.90), Ajax Fabuloso 2L (RM13.90) and Softlan refill (RM10.90) come to RM42.70 in Peninsular Malaysia against RM49.30 at normal prices. The receipt clears RM40, so add the Cold Cup at RM15.90 instead of RM33 and the total is RM58.60 against RM82.30 at normal prices. RM17.10 of that RM23.70 saving is the Cold Cup alone. The same three items in Sabah and Sarawak are RM46.70, and the Cold Cup is still RM15.90.
3. The snack table. CRISPY Fun Pack, two Super Ring family packs, two ROTA family packs and two Mister Potato packs — nine packets — come to RM34.90 in the Peninsular flyer and RM38.90 in Sabah and Sarawak, a gap of RM4 or about 11.5 per cent. Add two NOI Peanut packs (RM6 Peninsular, RM6.90 Borneo) and the Peninsular basket clears RM40 at RM40.90.
Gemilang Toy Fiesta: MR.DIY PLUS gets twice the campaign
MR.DIY publishes the toy flyer as price bands rather than line-by-line prices, and unlike Jom Beli there is no regional split — toys are priced nationally.
At MR.DIY stores (two flyer pages, four bands): Magic Bubble Toys from RM9.90; Fun Play Picks RM3.50 to RM37; Wild World Playsets RM4.30 to RM7.30; Learning & Creative Fun RM11.50 to RM35 (NP RM15.90 to RM49).
At MR.DIY PLUS stores (four flyer pages, eight bands): Magic Bubble Toys from RM9.90; Building Toys Collection from RM17.90; Car Toys & Hero Costumes RM13.90 to RM69; Little Mermaid Doll RM3.50 to RM28.90; Interactive Fun & Play RM22.90 to RM47; Wild World Playsets RM4.30 to RM7.30; Learning & Creative Fun RM11.50 to RM23.90 (NP RM15.50 to RM33); Rescue Vehicles & Costume Fun RM11.50 to RM35 (NP RM15.90 to RM49).
Only Magic Bubble Toys and Wild World Playsets are common to both formats at identical prices. Everything else — building blocks, magnetic tiles, ride-and-rescue vehicles, the fireman and construction dress-up costumes, the drawing easel — is in the PLUS flyer only. If a toy in this campaign caught your eye online, check whether your branch is a PLUS store before driving out. Only two of the twelve bands print a normal price, so for the other ten there is no published discount to verify.
Everything else MR.DIY has live in Malaysia this month
Checked against MR.DIY's own campaign pages on 5 September 2026. The house pattern still holds: West Malaysia first, Sabah and Sarawak a fortnight to a month behind.
- PWP Lunch Box & Cold Cup 2026 — West Malaysia 15 August to 30 September 2026; East Malaysia 1 September to 14 October 2026.
- Spend with Visa, Celebrate with Rewards 2026 — the listing dates it 21 August to 13 September, but the campaign page says it runs only during the MR.DIY Bersama Satu Bazaar, a two-stop roadshow. The Sunway Pyramid open car park leg (28 to 31 August) is finished; the only remaining stop is Angsana Johor Bahru Mall, 11 to 13 September 2026. Spend RM50 or more in a single receipt at a participating Jalan DIY booth and pay with Visa Mobile Payment — Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Wallet or Garmin Pay — then present the receipt at the redemption counter for limited-edition Merdeka merchandise. A physical Visa card swipe does not qualify.
- Hearttex x Days 2026 — until 30 September 2026, nationwide, from RM1.
- Mickey Racing League 2026 — West Malaysia 1 September to 30 November; East Malaysia 1 October to 31 December. Racing-themed Mickey merchandise pegged to Formula 1 returning to Sepang, at selected stores only. The listing shows one span of 1 September to 31 December, which reads as a single national window; it is not one.
- Spider-Man 2026 — West Malaysia 15 July to 14 October; East Malaysia 15 August to 14 November. Selected stores only.
- Winnie The Pooh 2026 — West Malaysia's window closed on 14 August. East Malaysia runs to 14 September 2026, so Sabah and Sarawak have about a week left on a collection the Peninsular can no longer buy.
- New Arrival Series 2026 — an umbrella page stacking eight separate drops, each with its own window. Live now: Children Camera, Fresh Scent for Living, Japan Home Series and Adventure Toy Collection, all nationwide 1 to 30 September; Fluffy Keychain (West 1 to 30 September, East 15 September to 14 October); and Blind Pack Nut Nut Series (West 15 August to 14 September, East 15 September to 14 October). Fashion Bag and Sport Equipment Series finished in the Peninsular on 31 August but run in East Malaysia to 14 September.
Four of those September drops are dated nationwide rather than staggered — a break from MR.DIY's usual East-lags-West pattern, and worth knowing if you are in Borneo and used to waiting a fortnight.
Who this is for, and who should skip it
Worth a trip if: you are due a cleaning-cupboard restock (Shieldtox at 22 per cent and the Ajax, Softlan and Royal Gold lines are the substance of this flyer); you want the Cold Cup, which at RM15.90 against RM33 remains the single best-value item MR.DIY is selling; you need cheap plastic homeware, where the stool and pail are down 31 and 25 per cent; or you have a PLUS store nearby and a child's birthday coming.
Skip it if: you were coming for the snacks and you are not in the Peninsular. Strip out the two Peninsular-only offers and the September snack aisle is mostly single-digit and low-teens percentages dressed up as multi-buys. Work the per-unit maths before committing to three of anything — "buy 3 @ RM11" on a RM4.50 biscuit is RM2.50 saved, not a third off.
Time it if you are in Sabah or Sarawak. Your Jom Beli prices end 30 September but the PWP runs to 14 October, so the two weeks after the flyer closes are the last window for the RM15.90 Cold Cup — and it will still be RM15.90, not a Borneo price.
The fine print
- While stocks last applies to every campaign, and MR.DIY's flyer footer reserves the right to replace a product with another similar valuable product depending on stock availability.
- Offers are valid only for the same item and its assortment as indicated — a different size or variant of the same brand is not automatically included.
- Flyer images are for graphical use only, per MR.DIY's own footer, so shelf packaging may differ.
- The PWP needs RM40 on one receipt. Two RM25 receipts on the same visit do not qualify.
- Read your own region's flyer. In September no line is priced the same in both.
- The toy flyer differs by store format, MR.DIY versus MR.DIY PLUS, and the PLUS flyer is twice the size.
- Mickey Racing League and Spider-Man are at selected stores only, so ring your branch rather than assuming.
Every price, date and SKU above was read from MR.DIY's own campaign pages and catalogue images at mrdiy.com on 5 September 2026, not from a third-party listing.
