Registering a Birth in Malaysia 2026: Free for 60 Days, RM50 After, and Why Sabah and Sarawak Give You Only 14
Registering your baby's birth with JPN costs nothing if you do it in time, but "in time" means 60 days in Peninsular Malaysia and only 14 days in Sabah and Sarawak. Miss it and the fee is small (RM5 to RM50). The real cost is the paperwork: a late registration in the Peninsula asks for photos of the whole family and sponsors' declarations.
