Where to actually shop for furniture in the Klang Valley

Furniture shopping in KL usually means one of three things: a big-box Scandinavian warehouse, a multi-brand furniture mall where dozens of retailers sit under one roof, or a single-label showroom for something more considered. We checked which operators from the "usual suspects" list are actually still trading in the Klang Valley this run, dropped the ones we couldn't verify, and flagged the two live promos with real end dates.

1. IKEA — Damansara & Cheras

IKEA runs two full-size stores in the Klang Valley: IKEA Damansara in Mutiara Damansara (next to The Curve and IPC Shopping Centre) and IKEA Cheras on Jalan Cochrane in Taman Maluri, Kuala Lumpur, plus occasional pop-ups elsewhere in the Klang Valley. Both carry the full flat-pack range — sofas, wardrobes, kitchen systems, lighting and decor — with a self-service warehouse and in-store restaurant.

2. Harvey Norman — Mid Valley & multiple outlets

The Australian retailer's flagship at Mid Valley Megamall sits alongside furniture-carrying branches at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur and Pavilion Bukit Jalil, selling sofas, dining sets, bedding and appliances under one roof. Right now it's running a Merdeka Super Sale (30 July–2 September 2026) with furniture, appliances and lifestyle items discounted up to 80%, instant rebates up to RM3,500, and instalment plans up to 36 months.

3. MAJUHOME — Setapak & Ara Damansara

Trading since 1986, MAJUHOME Concept is a one-stop furniture retailer with Klang Valley showrooms at Lot 48 & 49, Jalan Genting Klang, Setapak, and inside Citta Mall in Ara Damansara, Petaling Jaya. It covers sofas, dining, bedroom and storage furniture, runs frequent mega sales (its mid-year 2026 sale discounted items up to 85%), and offers free delivery and assembly within Greater Klang Valley on orders above RM1,000.

4. Furniture World — Sungai Besi

Malaysia Furniture World is a one-stop exhibition mall off the KL-Seremban Highway at Lot 26483, Sungai Besi, Kuala Lumpur — roughly 100,000 sq ft split across 25 shop lots of independent retailers selling living, dining, bedroom, office and kitchen furniture. It's open daily 10am–9pm, including public holidays, which makes it useful for side-by-side comparison shopping rather than a single-brand experience.

5. Home's Harmony — multiple malls (currently at Nu Empire)

Home's Harmony has been in the home-linen and furnishing business since the mid-1990s and now runs roughly 49 outlets across Malaysia and Singapore, including 1 Utama, Publika, EkoCheras and Sunway Velocity. Its travelling Hottest Home Furnishing Sale is currently set up at Nu Empire (Lower Ground, in front of Jaya Grocer) from 11–24 August 2026, with home furnishing essentials discounted up to 70% while stocks last.

6. Fella Design — Seputeh & Shah Alam

A Malaysian-made upholstered-sofa manufacturer trading for more than 30 years, Fella Design's headquarters showroom is in Bukit Subang, Shah Alam, with a Klang Valley showroom on Jalan Klang Lama in Taman Seputeh, Kuala Lumpur, plus outlets in Ampang, Bangi and Puchong (21 stores nationwide). Customers pick from over 1,000 fabrics across 100+ sofa frames for made-to-order pieces.

7. King Living — Mutiara Damansara & Bangsar

The Australian premium furniture brand opened its first Malaysian showroom at IPC Shopping Centre in Mutiara Damansara, Petaling Jaya, followed by a three-storey standalone showroom on Jalan Maarof, Bangsar, in August 2019. Both stock King Living's modular sofas, beds, dining and outdoor ranges — this is the premium end of the list, not a bargain stop.

8. Commune — Bangsar

Commune is a Singapore-founded contemporary furniture label that opened its first Malaysian showroom in Bangsar back in 2014, at 69 Jalan Maarof, Kuala Lumpur. The 4,800 sq ft flagship displays furniture, lighting, accessories and bedding blending international design with Asian roots.

What we left out

A few names that come up often in "best furniture store" round-ups didn't survive this run's verification:

  • Journey East — a well-known curated/vintage furniture label, but its only confirmed showroom is at Tan Boon Liat Building in Singapore. We found no Malaysian outlet.
  • Castlery — Singapore-founded and ships to Malaysia, but we couldn't confirm a physical Malaysian showroom this run; it appears to operate here primarily as an online/delivery brand.
  • Novadeco and "Story Furniture" — no verifiable Klang Valley retailer trading under either exact name turned up in searches this run.
  • "Urban Practicality" — this surfaced only as a furniture-trend description (space-saving, multifunctional pieces), not the name of an actual store, so it's not included.
  • "King's Furniture" — the real, verified brand operating in the Klang Valley under a similar name is King Living (see #7), which we've included instead.

Pricing caveats

Only Home's Harmony's Nu Empire roadshow and Harvey Norman's Merdeka Super Sale have confirmed, dated discount ranges as of this run — treat those "up to X% off" figures as ceiling discounts on selected items, not storewide pricing. The other five entries (IKEA, MAJUHOME, Furniture World, Fella Design, King Living, Commune) are permanent stores rather than time-limited promotions; MAJUHOME and Harvey Norman in particular run new sales campaigns often, so check their own sites before a special trip if you're chasing a specific discount.
