Where to actually shop for furniture in the Klang Valley

Furniture shopping in KL usually means one of three things: a big-box Scandinavian warehouse, a multi-brand furniture mall where dozens of retailers sit under one roof, or a single-label showroom for something more considered. This page was last re-verified on 6 September 2026, and the picture has changed completely since the Merdeka round: every campaign we listed in August is dead, and the September replacements are larger, longer and — in three cases — split across different store banners or branches of the same brand.

Two things are worth knowing before you read the list. First, the end date is usually not on the campaign page. MAJUHOME's Merdeka Sale page still shows only a countdown timer, but the store's own scheduled offer rules put the closing time at 20 September 2026. King Living's "extra 6% off" banner says only "limited time"; the footnote at the bottom of the same page dates it 29 August to 6 September. Second, the banner matters more than the brand. Fella Design's group runs three different September campaigns — one at Fella Design showrooms, one at Fella Urban, one at American Accents in Bukit Subang — and none of them is valid at the other two.

1. IKEA — Damansara & Cheras

IKEA runs two full-size stores in the Klang Valley: IKEA Damansara in Mutiara Damansara (next to The Curve and IPC Shopping Centre) and IKEA Cheras on Jalan Cochrane in Taman Maluri, Kuala Lumpur. Nationally there are four stores — Batu Kawan in Penang and Tebrau in Johor are the other two — plus an East Malaysia online store. Both KV stores carry the full flat-pack range, with a self-service warehouse and in-store restaurant.

The 30th-anniversary Touch 'n Go card offer that ran to 31 August is finished. What's live now:

  • Spend & Win: GWM HAVAL H6 HEV. Every RM500 spent on home furnishing in a single in-store receipt earns one entry; entries accrue in RM500 increments with no cap per receipt. Three cars, three draws, one winner each. Campaign period 14 August to 14 November 2026 (organiser: IKANO Handel Sdn Bhd). The catch worth knowing: entries do not carry forward between draws. Draw 1 covers 14 Aug–13 Sep, Draw 2 covers 14 Sep–13 Oct, Draw 3 covers 14 Oct–14 Nov. A receipt banked this week competes only in Draw 1. Online purchases don't count.
  • IKEA Gift Card worth up to RM500 with a BESTÅ storage combination, 3 September to 10 November 2026 — the published terms tier it as RM100 on RM1,000–RM1,999, RM300 on RM2,000–RM2,999 and RM500 from RM3,000, redeemable at the Exchange & Returns counter by 30 November 2026.
  • 20% off selected KUGGIS boxes for IKEA Family members, to 14 September 2026 — 15 SKUs, e.g. the 18x26x15 cm box at RM16 (usually RM20), the 18x26x8 cm at RM8 (RM10), and the 13x18 cm lid at RM4 (RM5).

The Tuesday and Wednesday 30%-off salmon and fish-and-chips cards still shown on IKEA's anniversary page are August artwork — IKEA's own image filenames for both end in "in-august". For September the Swedish Restaurant replaces them on the same two weekdays with any 3 selected mains (8pcs meatballs, Alaska pollock fish and chips or chicken chop) at RM30 for IKEA Family members, on 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 22, 23, 29 and 30 September only — not 16 September, Malaysia Day. The National Day local-favourites menu runs to 30 September 2026.

2. Harvey Norman — Mid Valley & 22 Klang Valley stores

The Merdeka Super Sale page (harveynorman.com.my/promotions/merdeka-super-sale.html) now returns a 404 — that campaign is over. The retailer's store directory currently lists 39 Malaysian stores, 22 of them in the Klang Valley: Mid Valley, IPC (the flagship), 1 Utama, 1 Mont Kiara, NU Sentral, Pavilion KL, Pavilion Bukit Jalil, Pavilion Damansara Heights, Sunway Pyramid, Sunway Velocity, Paradigm PJ, CITTA Mall, Ampang Point, KL East Mall, The Beat Kiara Bay, 168 Park Selayang, Plaza Shah Alam, Setia City Mall, Elmina Lakeside Mall, AEON Bukit Tinggi, IOI City Mall and Quayside Mall.

Three campaigns run concurrently in September, and they do different things:

  • Malaysia Day Mega Sale, 3–16 September 2026 — in-store and online, up to 70% off, plus a free gift card worth up to RM9,000 on selected qualifying products. "Home Rewards" adds instant rebates, Touch 'n Go eWallet credits and cashback on selected models from participating brands.
  • Better Furniture, Better Living, 3–30 September 2026 — this is the furniture-specific one, covering 177 selected products. Spend RM3,000 and you get an extra 6% off; spend RM6,000 and it becomes an extra 9%. Separately, buy a selected sofa or dining table and you get an extra 15% off a selected coffee table, buffet cabinet or console table.
  • Top Brands Mega Clearance, 3–30 September 2026 — up to 80% off, but delivery and self pick-up are limited to CITTA Mall, Ampang Point and Paradigm Mall. If you don't shop those three, this one isn't for you.

Marked furniture prices on the site this run: Italia queen bed frame RM2,479 (was RM7,019), Sealy Lugano queen mattress RM9,449 (was RM15,749), La-Z-Boy Harbor Town XL i-clean fabric rocker recliner RM4,998 (was RM9,996), a Patio 4-piece outdoor lounge set RM1,993 (was RM3,996), and the Ergomotion R2 super-single adjustable bed RM7,729 (was RM12,889).

3. MAJUHOME — Setapak, Citta Mall, The Curve & 4 more

Trading since 1986, MAJUHOME Concept has grown well past the two showrooms this page used to list. The Klang Valley network is now seven outlets: Setapak (Lot 48 & 49, Batu 4½, Jalan Genting Klang, 53300 KL), Citta Mall Ara Damansara, The Curve Mutiara Damansara, MAJUHOME Kids also at The Curve, IOI City Mall (East Wing), IOI Mall Puchong and USJ — plus King Koil mattress boutiques at Pavilion Bukit Jalil and Bangsar Village II. Most open 10am–10pm daily; USJ runs Mon–Fri 10am–9.30pm.

The Merdeka Sale 2026 is still running with 120 products, and it does have an end date after all: the store's own scheduled offer rules close it at 20 September 2026, 11.59pm. Discounting is mostly a flat half price — YVUS 3-seater compress sofa RM1,499 (was RM2,998), YVUS coffee table set RM999 (was RM1,998), DEROIT lounge chair RM699 (was RM1,398), EANLY bar chair RM319 (was RM638), EAN bar counter with storage cabinet RM3,199 (was RM6,398). A parallel Merdeka Marble Expo 2026 carries 75 marble dining tables on the same pattern: ARJUNA RM8,299 (was RM16,598), CARLTY RM8,999 (was RM17,998), CASPIAN round natural marble RM14,999 (was RM29,998).

Four bonus mechanics run alongside it on the same 20 September deadline, each explicitly not stackable with another promotion:

  • Spend RM3,500 on mattresses → free tri-fold mattress
  • Spend RM4,000 storewide → FUZZIO chair for RM299
  • Buy any TV cabinet → extra 20% off a coffee table or side table
  • Spend RM500 on an office table → 15% off an office chair

Free delivery and assembly within Greater Klang Valley still applies above RM1,000.

4. Furniture World — Sungai Besi

Malaysia Furniture World is a one-stop exhibition mall off the KL–Seremban Highway at Lot 26483, Sungai Besi, 57100 Kuala Lumpur — roughly 100,000 sq ft split across 25 shop lots of independent retailers. It's open daily 10am–9pm, including public holidays (hotline 03-9057 7345), which makes it the practical option for side-by-side comparison shopping.

There's no mall-wide dated campaign running right now; its Furniture World x Senheng Weekend Carnival was a two-day event on 17–18 January 2026. What the mall does advertise as standing entry points are useful for budgeting: L-shape sofas from RM990, queen bed frames from RM999, and six-chair dining sets from RM799. Because each lot is an independent retailer, prices are negotiable in a way they are not at IKEA or Harvey Norman.

5. Home's Harmony — 31 Klang Valley outlets

Home's Harmony (now trading online as "Homes") has been in home linen and furnishing since the mid-1990s. The official store locator currently lists 39 Malaysian outlets, 31 of them in KL and Selangor — 1 Utama, Publika, EkoCheras, Sunway Velocity, Sunway Pyramid, Pavilion Bukit Jalil, Bangsar Village II, Paradigm PJ, Setia City Mall, Great Eastern Mall, Melawati, Atria, Hartamas, KL East and more — with the remaining eight split between Penang (4), Johor (3) and Melaka (1). Two corrections to what this page said in August: the site is no longer behind a bot check and reads normally, and NU Empire is a permanent outlet, not a roadshow stop. The travelling Hottest Home Furnishing Sale that ran on the Lower Ground floor from 11 to 24 August 2026 has ended, but the shop upstairs — UG23 & 23A, Upper Ground, Empire Shopping Gallery, SS16 Subang Jaya (03-8601 2788) — trades year-round.

No dated storewide campaign is live. Everyday pricing gives the range: Jean Perry Beverly Hills and Hollywood towels RM5.50–RM65.90, Cotonsoft Korecca 450-thread-count quilt cover sets RM399–RM599 and fitted sets RM189–RM269, bath mats from RM15.

6. Fella Design — Seputeh, Ampang, Bangi, Puchong & Shah Alam

A Malaysian-made upholstered-sofa manufacturer trading for more than 30 years. Its Klang Valley Fella Design showrooms are at Jalan Klang Lama in Taman Seputeh (KL), Taman Ampang Utama (Ampang), Kawasan Perindustrian Bangi, Suria Puchong, and the Bukit Subang HQ in Shah Alam. Customers pick from over 1,000 fabrics across 100+ sofa frames for made-to-order pieces; listed sofa prices start around RM699–RM999 against usual prices of RM1,399–RM1,999.

The group is running three separate September campaigns, and each is valid only under its own banner — this is the single easiest way to waste a trip this month:

  • Fella Design Malaysia Day Promotion, 1–15 September 2026 — extra 9% off your first purchase, then extra 16% off the second purchase and above. In-store at Fella Design showrooms only.
  • Fella Urban Savetember Sale, 1–30 September 2026 — extra 16% off storewide. In-store at Fella Urban showrooms only (353 Jalan Ampang, KL; and 1st Floor, Bukit Subang).
  • American Accents Moving Out Sale, 1–30 September 2026 — up to 80% off selected clearance items, in-store at American Accents Bukit Subang only.

7. King Living — Mutiara Damansara & Bangsar

The Australian premium furniture brand's first Malaysian showroom opened at IPC Shopping Centre in Mutiara Damansara, followed by a three-storey standalone showroom on Jalan Maarof, Bangsar, in August 2019. Both stock King Living's modular sofas, beds, dining and outdoor ranges — the premium end of this list, not a bargain stop.

The Art of Living Sale (up to 50% off selected designs) is genuinely open-ended; the site says only "valid until end of sale". The two riders around it are dated, and only in the footnote:

  • The additional 6% off at a minimum spend of RM18,000 is formally the "Merdeka Day Additional 6% Off Offer" — it started 29 August 2026 and ends today, 6 September 2026, once per household. The banner at the top of the page still says only "Hurry, limited time only".
  • King Kube and Quantum, additional 20% off, runs 25 March to 30 September 2026, once per household, while stocks last.

King Living's own terms note that multiple promotions may apply to one purchase, but two discounts cannot apply to the same product — so the 6% and the 20% won't compound on a King Kube.

8. Commune — Bangsar

Commune is a Singapore-founded contemporary furniture label that opened its first Malaysian showroom in Bangsar in 2014, at 69 Jalan Maarof, Kuala Lumpur. The 4,800 sq ft flagship displays furniture, lighting, accessories and bedding. Listed prices span roughly RM790 to RM10,020, so it sits alongside King Living rather than IKEA.

No dated sale is running. The standing offer is 10% off your first order for newsletter sign-ups, which Commune itself frames as worth "over RM3,000" on a large order — meaningful precisely because the ticket sizes here are big.

How to pick, in September 2026

  • Buying one big-ticket piece (RM3,000–RM6,000)? Harvey Norman's Better Furniture, Better Living is the cleanest maths: RM6,000 of selected furniture takes an extra 9% (RM540), and adding a coffee table to a sofa or dining table takes another 15% off that table. Both run to 30 September.
  • Furnishing a whole room on a budget? MAJUHOME's Merdeka Sale is broadly half price across 120 products but dies on 20 September — a full two weeks before Harvey Norman's. Its RM4,000-storewide mechanic (FUZZIO chair for RM299) is the one most people will actually clear.
  • Comparison shopping without a deadline? Furniture World, daily 10am–9pm, where you negotiate lot by lot.
  • Chasing a specific clearance? Check the branch first. Harvey Norman's 80%-off clearance is CITTA Mall, Ampang Point and Paradigm Mall only; Fella's 80%-off clearance is American Accents Bukit Subang only.
  • Premium showrooms? King Living's Art of Living Sale has no end date, so there is no rush — but the dated riders do expire, and they are only in the small print.

What we left out

A few names that come up often in "best furniture store" round-ups didn't survive verification:

  • Journey East — a well-known curated/vintage furniture label, but its only confirmed showroom is at Tan Boon Liat Building in Singapore. We found no Malaysian outlet.
  • Castlery — Singapore-founded and ships to Malaysia, but we couldn't confirm a physical Malaysian showroom; it appears to operate here primarily as an online/delivery brand.
  • Novadeco and "Story Furniture" — no verifiable Klang Valley retailer trading under either exact name turned up in searches.
  • "Urban Practicality" — this surfaced only as a furniture-trend description (space-saving, multifunctional pieces), not the name of an actual store.
  • "King's Furniture" — the real, verified brand operating in the Klang Valley under a similar name is King Living (see #7), which we've included instead.

Pricing caveats

Re-checked 6 September 2026 against each retailer's own site. Treat every "up to X% off" figure as a ceiling discount on selected items, not storewide pricing — Harvey Norman's own selection for Better Furniture, Better Living is 177 products, and MAJUHOME's Merdeka Sale is 120. Two dates to watch this month: 6 September (King Living's extra 6% rider expires) and 20 September (MAJUHOME's Merdeka Sale closes, per the store's own scheduled offer rules rather than anything printed on the campaign page). Harvey Norman, Fella Design and IKEA all publish their September end dates plainly; MAJUHOME and King Living do not, which is exactly why a trip planned off a banner alone can misfire.
