> Quick view: five of the eight Klang Valley clubs here publish a visitor rate on their own site. Kelab Golf Seri Selangor is RM178.20 on a weekday, or RM270 once you add the compulsory caddy. Glenmarie is RM338 and Tropicana RM510, both before a caddy, and Kota Permai charges RM432 for the green fee alone. Palm Garden cut its rates to RM250 nett from 1 September 2026 while its course is under maintenance. Saujana prices only corporate tournament packages. KLGCC books visitors through a sign-up portal, and Royal Selangor Golf Club does not take public visitors at all. The number that decides your bill is still the caddy line.

The published price is not the price

Golf in the Klang Valley has a pricing problem that has nothing to do with how expensive it is. The headline number and the number on your chit are built differently at every club, and nobody says so on the way in.

At Glenmarie Golf & Country Club, the 2026 tariff card states that all published rates cover the green fee, a twin-sharing buggy, insurance and all applicable taxes. A visitor's weekday 18 holes is RM338, and almost all of it is genuinely inside that number. Almost — because the same card prices a full caddy at RM138 for a visitor, and the club states that a caddy is compulsory for all flights, subject to daily availability.

At Kota Permai Golf & Country Club, the rate page prices the green fee and nothing else. A visitor's weekday 18 holes is RM432.00, then RM183.60 for the buggy, RM194.40 for the caddie and RM5.95 for golfer's insurance, and the page says the twin-sharing buggy and caddie are compulsory. That is RM815.95 for one weekday round.

At Tropicana Golf & Country Resort, the green fee table includes 8% SST but not the cart or the caddy. A visitor pays RM510 for a weekday 18 holes, and the same page lists an electric buggy at RM167.40, a caddy at RM138.25 and golf insurance at RM6.48. Take all three and the weekday round is RM822.13, the highest à la carte total on this list. The same page also sells a Weekday Package at RM400+ that bundles the green fee, sharing buggy, caddy and insurance, so nobody should be paying the à la carte number.

At Kelab Golf Seri Selangor, the weekday rate of RM178.20 includes green fees, a sharing buggy, insurance and tax, with breakfast on the morning slot. It then adds a compulsory caddy at RM91.80, for RM270.

Four clubs, four different definitions of a green fee, and a spread from RM270 to RM822 for the same eighteen holes on the same weekday.

What a caddy costs, and when you can skip one

The caddy is the single biggest source of confusion, because it is compulsory in principle and avoidable in specific cases.

Kota Permai's rate page is the most useful on this, because it contradicts itself in a helpful direction. One line says a twin-sharing buggy and caddie are compulsory. A later line, under the club's playing conditions, says the caddy is compulsory except for a morning trolley round and a 9-hole round. A visitor's weekday nine without a caddy is RM216 green fee, RM91.80 buggy and RM5.95 insurance: RM313.75.

Glenmarie prices a half caddy at RM69 for a visitor against RM138 for a full one. Its 9 holes after 5pm at RM120 on a weekday plus a half caddy comes to RM189, the cheapest way onto that property.

Tropicana's packages are its caddy workaround. Every package on its rate page, from the 9 Hole Package at RM250+ (Monday to Thursday) to the Sat AM/PM & Sun AM Package at RM650+, states that it includes the green fee, a sharing buggy, the caddy and golf insurance.

Seri Selangor prints "Caddy is compulsory @ RM91.80 per caddy" on every rate card and offers no exemption.

One caveat worth raising with the golf counter before you book: a caddy conventionally works a flight rather than an individual golfer. Whether the published per-caddy figure is charged once per flight or once per player changes a four-ball's bill substantially, and none of the tariffs spells it out.

What changed by 25 October

We re-read every club's own channels again on 25 October 2026. Three things have moved since the September check below.

Seri Selangor now has the cheapest all-in round in the Klang Valley, in the afternoon. A Year-End Golf Special poster on the club's homepage prices PM rounds at RM198 per person, Monday to Sunday, from 17 October to 31 December 2026, excluding public holidays. Unlike the club's standing rates, which add a RM91.80 caddy on top, this one lists green fee, sharing buggy, insurance, a sharing caddy and a RM10 F&B voucher inside the RM198. Book on 03-7806 1111 or 019-425 1961. The standing rates are unchanged: RM178.20 weekday, RM253.80 weekend AM, RM190 weekend PM, each plus the caddy.

Glenmarie's Merdeka rate is over, and a Wednesday rate has joined Monday Blues. The RM208 weekday PM offer ran out on 30 September and its page now returns a 404. Glenmarie's offers list now has Midweek Swing: every Wednesday, RM200 nett AM and RM180 nett PM, with green fee, twin-sharing buggy, insurance and tax included, the caddy compulsory and extra, and no public holidays. Monday Blues is still RM200 AM and RM180 PM, Fair Lady still RM228 on weekdays for MyKad holders, and Weekend Chillax still RM238 for weekend PM.

Palm Garden has not lifted its maintenance rates. The 1 September notice of RM250 nett on weekdays, RM350 on weekend and public-holiday mornings and RM299 on weekend and public-holiday afternoons is still the newest promotion on the club's page, with no end date and no word that the works have finished.

Kota Permai, Tropicana, Saujana, KLGCC and Royal Selangor show the same rates and policies as in September.

What changed after Malaysia Day

We re-read every club's own channels on 17 September 2026, the day after the Merdeka season closed. Four things have moved since this guide first ran on 25 August.

Seri Selangor's RM190 Merdeka rate is over. Its Swing Into Savings special, RM190 on weekdays with the caddy included, ran 15 July to 16 September 2026. The club's homepage still shows the artwork, but the printed end date has passed and there is no successor card, so the everyday RM178.20 plus RM91.80 caddy applies again.

Glenmarie extended its Merdeka rate to 30 September (since ended). The offer page then read 10 August to 30 September 2026 rather than 18 September: RM208 nett per golfer, weekday PM only, online bookings only, excluding public holidays, covering the 18-hole green fee, twin-sharing buggy, insurance and tax. The caddy is still compulsory and extra, there are no rain checks, and it is not valid for tournaments.

Palm Garden cut its rates because the course is being worked on. A notice on the club's promotions page, dated 1 September 2026 and posted to its Instagram on 5 September, sets special rates effective 1 September 2026 until further notice. The club says the course is undergoing maintenance and improvement works and "may not be at its best condition" in the meantime. The rates are RM250 nett for 18 holes on weekdays, RM350 on weekend and public-holiday mornings and RM299 on weekend and public-holiday afternoons. Nine holes are RM150, RM198 and RM150. They apply to all golfers, including the club's travel-agent partners. Unlike the club's earlier Freedom on the Fairway card, this notice does not itemise buggy or caddy, so ask what is inside the RM250 when you book on 012-238 9881.

Two clubs we had filed under "publishes nothing" do publish. Tropicana's golf-course page carries a full visitor tariff and seven packages. KLGCC's booking page has a Visitor tee-time button, which leads to a portal where you create an account before you see slots. Saujana still has no individual visitor rate, but it does publish Corporate Tournament Packages at RM350.20 nett per player on weekdays and RM508.20 nett at weekends, for a minimum of 40 players.

The cheapest weekday 18 holes right now

Ranked by what a visitor pays for a weekday round as of 25 October 2026, with the caddy counted where the club charges it separately:

  • Kelab Golf Seri Selangor, Year-End Golf Special PM (to 31 December) — RM198, sharing caddy and RM10 F&B voucher included
  • Palm Garden, special rate — RM250 nett (the notice does not say whether buggy and caddy are inside; confirm first)
  • Kelab Golf Seri Selangor, standard weekday — RM178.20 plus RM91.80 caddy — RM270
  • Glenmarie, Monday Blues or Wednesday Midweek Swing PM — RM180 plus RM138 visitor caddy — RM318
  • Tropicana, Weekday Package — RM400+, buggy, caddy and insurance included
  • Kota Permai, visitor à la carte — RM815.95

Worked example for a four-ball on a Thursday afternoon: at Seri Selangor's year-end rate it is 4 × RM198 = RM792, against 4 × RM270 = RM1,080 at the standing rate if each player is charged a caddy. At Glenmarie on a Wednesday afternoon it is 4 × RM180 = RM720 before caddies, and the bill then depends on whether the counter charges RM138 per player or per flight, which is why that is the first question to ask.

For specific golfers the order changes again. Seri Selangor's Fore Her ladies' rate of RM121.50 nett ended on 30 September 2026 and is no longer advertised on the club's site. Kota Permai's Ladies Day on Tuesdays at RM268 and Senior Golfers on Wednesdays at RM298 are all-inclusive. Glenmarie's Fair Lady weekday rate of RM228 is for Malaysians only, on MyKad. Tropicana's Ladies, Senior (55 and above) and Junior packages are for member's guests only.

Where the third-party numbers go wrong

The most common failure is not exaggeration, it is age. Kota Permai circulates on golf-travel sites at roughly RM286.20 weekday and RM508.80 weekend for a visitor. The club's own rate page, re-read on 25 October 2026, still says RM432.00 and RM669.60. Neither third-party figure appears anywhere on the club's site.

Two-decimal prices in Malaysian golf almost always come from a tax calculation, and a tax calculation applied to an old base gives you a precise-looking wrong answer. The fix is boring and reliable: open the club's own rates page, and if it does not have one, telephone the golf counter.

The same goes for our own earlier edition. It said Tropicana and KLGCC published nothing for visitors. Both claims were wrong, and both clubs now have their numbers in the table above.

How to pick a Klang Valley course

If you are pricing a casual weekday round, start at Kelab Golf Seri Selangor. It was built as a public course, its RM270 all-in weekday total is the lowest standing price here, and an afternoon round is RM198 with a sharing caddy until 31 December.

If you must play in the morning and can live with a course under repair, Palm Garden at RM250 nett. The club itself says conditions may not be at their best, so treat it as a price-first choice until the works finish.

If you want 36 holes and a tariff you can read, Glenmarie. The card is unusually complete, the Fairlady, Monday Blues, Weekend Chillax and after-5pm nine rates are real rates rather than teasers, and Monday and Wednesday afternoons are RM180 before the caddy.

If you want a PJ address and one number that includes everything, Tropicana's Weekday Package at RM400+. It sits inside the PJ ring rather than out towards Shah Alam or Kota Kemuning. Visitors cannot play two-ball at weekends or on public holidays.

If you are hosting clients or playing a corporate day, compare three published tournament sheets: Glenmarie's RM310 weekday (green fee, insurance and tax; meals from RM148), Saujana's RM350.20 nett weekday for 40 players or more, and Tropicana's RM432 nett weekday including F&B. Kota Permai's corporate package appears on its own page at both RM368 and RM338 nett, so ask which one applies.

If you only want to hit balls, Palm Garden's Perfect Swing range is RM23 for 100 balls by day and RM25 by night. KLGCC's Trackman range charges visitors RM31 for an hour and opens until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.

If you are choosing on the golf rather than the invoice, Saujana's Palm Course and KLGCC's two layouts are the strongest tests within half an hour of the city. Budget by telephone at Saujana and through the visitor portal at KLGCC.

And if you have been searching for a Royal Selangor Golf Club green fee, stop. The club's own homepage says public visitors are not permitted and golfing privileges are strictly for members and their invited guests.
