Golf in Ipoh and Perak 2026: RM71 or RM458 for a Weekday Round, and the Malaysia Day Deal That Skips 16 September

A 27-hole course off Jalan Bukit Meru, split into the Valley, Waterfall and River nines, which the resort calls the only five-star golf course in Perak. Its own golf page prices everything line by line. Visitor green fee for 18 holes is **RM361.80 on weekdays and RM545.40 at weekends** (9 holes RM205.20 and RM286.20); a member's guest pays RM216 and RM286.20, and affiliated club members RM178.20 and RM250. The buggy is extra at RM96.80 for 18 holes (RM133 for a premium buggy), a guest caddy is RM110 (RM65 for 9 holes), and club rental is RM152.80. The two-tier driving range is RM10 for 50 balls. Book on 05-529 3300 between 7am and 7pm; register 30 minutes before tee time and report to the starter seven minutes before or you may lose the slot, and cancellations after 3pm the day before can be fined up to 50% of the green fee. The September course-care notice lists tee-box levelling and drainage and buggy-track repairs still under way.

The heritage choice. The club's own site dates it to 1900 and describes an 18-hole championship course in Ipoh with a heritage clubhouse, the 600-guest Jubilee Ballroom, smaller function rooms, the RPGC Garden Hotel's one- to three-bedroom suites, and two restaurants, The Fairway and The Greens Bistro. What it no longer has is a published green fee. The club rebuilt its website, and the "Golf Rate 2025" page that search engines still list now returns the new site's "Page not found" (checked 11 September 2026). Booking sites still carry figures for Royal Perak, but none could be matched to anything the club itself publishes, so the only reliable price is the one you get on the tee-time line, **05-547 3266**. Worth the call if you want the course; just do not plan a budget around a third-party number.

A lakeside resort course on Jalan Changkat Larang, Batu Gajah, run by Clear Water Sanctuary Golf Management Berhad (199501003396), with the Raintree and Lakes nines listed on its site. Its Rates & Fees page quotes walk-ins at **RM70+ for 9 holes and RM180+ for 18 on weekdays, RM130+ and RM260+ at weekends**, and accompanied members' guests at RM60+/RM120+ weekdays and RM90+/RM180+ weekends. The problem is the footnote: "Subject to GST". Malaysia zero-rated GST in June 2018 and replaced it with SST that September, and the page's copyright line says 2011, so these are figures from an old page rather than a current tariff. The club is trading: its official Facebook page shows it open and was promoting special green fees on weekends and public holidays in October 2025. Call 05-366 7433 for today's rate before you drive, and ask whether the buggy is included, which the page does not say.

One of the oldest clubs in Perak, an 18-hole par-70 course on Jalan Changkat in the old tin-mining town of Batu Gajah, and the only club on this list whose card shows every part of the price. The guest rate for 18 holes is **RM102 on weekdays and RM122 at weekends and public holidays**, made up of a shared buggy at RM43.20, a green fee of RM55.55 (RM75.55 at weekends) and insurance of RM3.25, with 8% SST included. Nine holes is RM72 and RM82. Students under 18 pay **RM57.25** for 9 or 18 holes on any day, and a jumbo flight adds RM10.80 a head. Weekday bookings are by phone at the registration counter (05-366 7270 or 05-365 2827); weekends and public holidays can also be booked online. One small inconsistency: the rate card gives operating hours of 7am to 6.30pm, while the website lists office hours of 7am to 7pm. That rate card is a PDF on the club's own Wix site, but the kintagolfclub.com homepage now bounces through a chain of unrelated redirects to an online-gambling page, so this card links the club's Google Maps listing instead, which shows it open (checked 11 September 2026).

A Ronald Fream-designed par-72 course on the Manjung coast, with nine holes looking over the Straits of Malacca and nine along the Dinding River estuary. Run by Damai Laut Golf Resort Sdn Bhd (199001003393), it publishes no rack rate at all, only packages, every one priced nett with the green fee, a twin-share buggy, insurance and SST included and a caddy compulsory at a fee it does not publish. **Glorious Mondays, Ladies Day and Seniors (65+) and Juniors (under 18) are all RM116 per golfer on Monday afternoons**, not on public holidays. Weekend afternoons are RM133. Buy 3 Free 1, for four golfers registering together, works out at RM159 each on weekdays and RM184 at weekends; Jumbo Flights of up to six are RM189 and RM211; the corporate package is RM181 weekdays and RM208 on weekend mornings. A valid handicap is required, single players pay a surcharge, and the course opens at noon on Mondays and 7am the rest of the week. Stay & Play starts from RM498 nett.

The cheapest published 18 holes in Perak: an 18-hole, par-72, 6,106-metre course near Teluk Intan whose own site lists **weekdays at RM39.90 to RM71.40 and weekends at RM44.90 to RM81.40**, with weekend afternoons at RM44.90 and nine holes from RM39.90, all including a sharing buggy, insurance and tax. Tee times are booked through the Deemples golf app, which the club links to, or on 019-266 0039. Two honest caveats. The site gives a price range rather than a fixed rate, so the figure depends on the slot you book. And parts of the website are unfinished template copy: one paragraph describes "Monterez Golf & Country Club, located in Shah Alam", and the coaches section lists four placeholder names. The prices sit beside a live booking link, but it is worth confirming by phone before a long drive.
