> Quick view: HOMEDEC, Malaysia's long-running home and renovation fair, fills KL Convention Centre from Thursday 29 October to Sunday 1 November 2026, 10am to 8pm. The deal side has three layers: red "Savers" tags of up to 80% off on selected items, instant gifts once a single receipt reaches RM5,000, and lucky-draw entries for every receipt of RM200 or more.

The three ways to save

1. Savers (the red price tags). HOMEDEC describes Savers as "Best Deals" and "Bundle Deals" from exhibitors, at up to 80% off. They are marked with red price tags on the booth, so look for the colour. Items without a red tag are not part of Savers. The 80% figure is the ceiling, and most tags will be well below it.

2. Instant Reward (Shop Big Win Big). Bring a receipt of RM5,000 or more to the Contest Counter and you get a gift on the spot. The October tiers on HOMEDEC's official posters are:

  • Tier 1, RM5,000+: a 1.8L electric kettle, a Sistema 920ml food storage box and a Thermobliss 700ml food jar
  • Tier 2, RM10,000+: a 2L glass chopper, a retro juice blender and a 20-piece Pearl Luxe dinner set
  • Tier 3, RM20,000+: a Philips 1000 Series 4.2L air fryer, a 20L microwave, a 0.7L rice cooker and a 7-piece Tefal Quickchef set
  • Silver, RM50,000+: a Sharp Plasmacluster air purifier and a Tefal Ixeo Vision all-in-one garment care system
  • Gold, RM100,000+: a Sharp 55-inch 4K Google TV, a Krups Coffee Crush machine and a Tefal Blend Up 2 blender

3. Bonanza and Special Prizes (lucky draw). Every receipt of RM200 or more earns one entry. The prize pool is "over RM600,000". The five grand prizes are a trip for two to Korea, two Disney Cruise tickets for two, a Samsung Bespoke AI side-by-side fridge (594L) and a Samsung Ecobubble 10/6kg washer dryer. Below those sit mattresses, a Ninja slushie maker, a dishwasher, kitchen taps, vacuums and small appliances.

Freebies that cost nothing

  • Register & Visit: pre-register on HOMEDEC's site and turn up during the show. 13 visitors will win a Medklinn Asens+40i air and surface sterilizer.
  • Door gift: one per registered visitor, first come first served each day, so arrive early.
  • HOMEDEC FRENZ: submit a RM200+ receipt through the FRENZ member system for a contest code and a shot at a Samsung 77-inch 4K OLED TV.
  • Tag, Share & Win on HOMEDEC's Facebook page closes on 27 October at 12pm. The prize is a DeRUCCI AeroCurve pillow, which you collect at the show.

Worked examples

  • The kitchen job. You sign an RM18,000 kitchen cabinet package and pay a RM3,000 deposit at the booth. Only the RM3,000 counts, so you get no instant gift but you do get one draw entry. Pay RM5,000 down instead and you reach Tier 1.
  • The furniture weekend. On Saturday you buy a RM2,400 sofa, a RM650 mattress protector set and a RM180 rug from three booths. The first two receipts give you two draw entries. The RM180 receipt is under RM200, so it does not count. If you go back on Sunday, those Saturday receipts cannot be added to Sunday's.
  • The big renovation. A RM55,000 full-home package paid at RM20,000 deposit lands in Tier 3 (air fryer, microwave, rice cooker and cookware), not Silver.

Who should go, and who can skip

It is worth the trip if you have just got your keys, are planning a kitchen, bathroom, wardrobe or flooring job, or want to compare several contractors in one afternoon. Bring your floor plan and measurements. The Architects' Pavilion in Hall 6 runs talks by Malaysian architects (the "Real Homes, Real Architects" programme), and you can ask them about your own plan after each session. Hall 6 also has the two showhomes: OASIS, a garden and outdoor space, and INTERVAL curated by Matthew Lim. The Marketplace runs chef-led cooking demos, though some sessions are paid.

Skip it if you only need one small appliance. A single kettle or air fryer is rarely cheaper here than during an online payday sale, and the gifts only start at RM5,000.

Fine print that trips people up

HOMEDEC has not yet posted separate terms for the October show. The rules below come from the official terms for the April 2026 KL edition, so expect them to be similar:

  • Deposits count only for what you actually pay. The full contract value, instalments, outstanding balances and rebates you have not used yet are all excluded.
  • Same-day only. Submit receipts on the day of purchase by the 8.30pm cut-off. Receipts from different days cannot be combined.
  • Each receipt must be RM200 or more to count. Two RM150 receipts do not make one entry.
  • The original receipt or tax invoice is needed. It must show the exhibitor's name, date, receipt number and amount. Photocopies and altered receipts can be rejected.
  • Open to Malaysian residents aged 18 and above. Exhibitors and their families are excluded.
  • Winners must reply by message to HOMEDEC's Facebook page by 12pm the day after the announcement, or the prize can be forfeited.
