> Quick view: Laguna Redang Island Resort's 3D2N Year End Promotion takes check-ins from 7 October 2026, with the resort stating a last check-out of 1 November. Two adults in a Standard room pay RM638 each against RM758 on the regular package, and a child is a flat RM438 against RM638. Every room type is RM100 to RM500 per adult cheaper. Friday and Saturday nights add RM60 per adult, and once you have paid, nothing is refundable.

Redang has a short selling season. Look at Laguna Redang Island Resort's own rates page and every single 2026 package, from the 2D1N room-with-breakfast right through to the honeymoon package, stops on 2 November. Nothing is on sale for December, January or February, which is the resort telling you plainly that the season ends with the monsoon.

What is new is that the resort has carved the last four weeks out of that season and given them their own, cheaper rate card. It is called the 3 Days 2 Nights Year End Promotion 2026, it sits on the same rates page as everything else, and the page says the package is valid from 7 October 2026 to 1 November 2026, with the latest check-out being 1 November. The validity badge above it reads 07 Oct until 02 Nov 2026, so if your dates are right on the edge, get the check-out confirmed in writing.

We read that promotion page, the resort's regular 3 Days 2 Nights Deluxe Package page, the surcharge calendar and the FAQ on 12 September 2026, and priced the two cards against each other room by room.

The price, room by room

These are per-adult prices for the full three days and two nights. The Year End figure comes first, with the resort's regular 3D2N Deluxe Package rate in brackets.

A child is RM438 on the Year End card and RM638 on the regular one. That figure does not change with the room type, so the RM200 saving per child is the same whether you are in a Standard room or the suite. An infant is RM25 on both cards.

The shape of the discount is worth noticing. On the cheapest room it is RM120 a head. On a Deluxe Sea or Premier Sea twin it is RM450, and on a Laguna Suite twin it is RM500. In other words, the Year End card is not a flat percentage off. It is a bigger cut on the rooms the resort finds hardest to fill at the end of the season, and the cheapest bed in the place barely moves.

What the price already covers

The Year End package includes accommodation, daily buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner, the two-way boat transfer between Taman Tamadun Islam Jetty and the resort, and a complimentary snorkelling trip. The resort's line on the gear is specific: snorkelling gear is provided for adults only, and it is returnable at check-out. Guests in a Premier Sea room or a suite also get an optional steamboat set dinner.

That snorkelling detail is one place where the cheaper card is actually the better card. On the regular Deluxe Package, the exclusions list prices a life jacket at RM15 per set and a snorkelling mask at RM15 per set. On the Year End package the only snorkelling items listed as chargeable are the PowerMask at RM35 per set and the kids' mask. Adults get their basic gear thrown in.

What you still pay on top

  • Marine Conservation Fee, paid on arrival: RM5 per adult and RM2 per child for Malaysians, RM30 per adult and RM15 per child for other nationalities
  • Weekend surcharge: RM60 per adult per night and RM30 per child per night, every Friday and Saturday
  • Land transfer from Kuala Terengganu Airport or the KT bus terminal to the jetty: RM20 per way for an adult, RM10 for a child
  • Snorkelling PowerMask RM35 per set, and the kids' mask
  • Tourism tax of RM10 per room per night, which applies to non-Malaysian guests only

Three worked examples

Two adults, Standard room, twin share, checking in on a Wednesday. RM638 each is RM1,276, plus RM5 each for the Marine Conservation Fee, so RM1,286 covers the room, every buffet meal, the boat both ways and the snorkelling trip. The same two adults on the regular package would pay RM1,516 before the conservation fee, so the Year End card saves RM240.

Two adults and one child in a Deluxe Garden room at the triple-share rate. That is RM708 twice plus RM438, or RM1,854. On the regular package the same three people come to RM938 twice plus RM638, or RM2,514. The gap is RM660, and RM200 of it comes from the child rate alone. Which occupancy tier your room is priced at is confirmed on the proforma invoice, so get that in hand before you plan around the number.

Four adults sharing a Deluxe Garden room. RM658 each is RM2,632 against RM3,472 on the regular card, a saving of RM840 for the group. Quad share is where the Year End card is at its most useful, because the per-head price on a Deluxe Garden quad is lower than the twin rate in a Standard room.

Now the weekend arithmetic. Check in on Friday 9 October and you sleep through Friday and Saturday nights, both of which carry the surcharge. Two adults add RM60 twice each, or RM240, which takes the Standard twin from RM1,276 to RM1,516. The surcharge applies to the regular package too, so the discount does not vanish. But it is a neat way to see the scale of the thing: two adults checking in on a Friday under the promotion pay exactly what two adults checking in midweek pay at the regular rate.

October has no peak surcharge at all

The resort runs three surcharge tiers: weekend at RM60 per adult per night, peak at RM80, and super peak at RM140, with child rates at half of each. Its rate pages carry a colour-coded calendar for the whole year.

Read the October calendar and only ten dates are flagged: 2, 3, 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, 24, 30 and 31. Those are the five Friday and Saturday pairs, and all ten carry the weekend colour code. Not a single October or November date is coded peak or super peak. So if you check in on a Sunday, Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, the price on the rate card is the price, with nothing added for the calendar.

That is unusual enough to be the real argument for going in October rather than waiting for the resort to reopen in March, when school holidays and public holidays start pulling the peak and super peak codes back onto the calendar.

Who should book this, and who should not

Book it if you travel midweek. A Sunday to Wednesday check-in takes the full discount with no surcharge, and the resort's own pitch for October is fewer crowds and calmer seas.

Book it if you are bringing children. RM438 instead of RM638 is the single largest proportional cut on either card.

Book it if you were priced out of a sea-view room. RM1,128 for a Deluxe Sea twin is RM450 below the regular card, and it is only RM260 above a Deluxe Garden twin on that same regular card.

Skip it if you are a licensed diver who wants boat dives. Those sit on a different rate card, the 3D2N Diving Deluxe Package for licensed divers only, which runs to 2 November on its own pricing. The Year End package includes a snorkelling trip, not dives.

Skip it if you want to learn to dive at Laguna this year. The resort's 4D3N PADI Open Water Course Deluxe Package is valid only until 7 October 2026, which is the very day the Year End promotion opens. The two windows do not overlap.

Skip it if you need any flexibility at all. This is covered in the fine print below, and it is the strictest clause on the page.

Getting there is a half-day in itself

Boats leave from Taman Tamadun Islam Jetty in Kuala Terengganu, and the resort puts the crossing at about 105 minutes. There are no flights to the island. Redang is within an hour's boat ride of Perhentian and Lang Tengah if you are island-hopping.

You do not book a seat on the resort boat. You turn up at the jetty, find the Laguna Check Point counter and show your proforma invoice. Departure times vary by day and the reservations team confirms yours closer to arrival, so do not build a same-day flight around a time you found online. The resort asks guests to be at the jetty one hour before departure.

Miss the resort boat because a flight ran late and there is a public ferry at 3pm at RM55 per adult one way, which is on you. Getting to the jetty itself from KT airport or the bus terminal is RM20 each way per adult if you use the resort's land transfer.

For a sense of the going rate on the island, Redang Pelangi Resort's own 3D2N snorkelling packages for the 12 March to October 2026 season run RM660 to RM770 per person for a Deluxe twin and RM760 to RM870 for a Deluxe Seaview twin, depending on whether you check in on a weekday, a weekend or a public holiday. Laguna's Year End Standard twin at RM638 undercuts that, while its Deluxe Garden twin at RM788 sits just above it.

The fine print that catches people

  • Full payment is required when the booking is confirmed, and the terms state that all payments are non-refundable in part or in full, with no amendments allowed after full payment. There is no softer version of this clause on the page.
  • The rate is not guaranteed until full payment is received, and an unpaid booking is automatically released for general sale after the cut-off date on your invoice.
  • The resort reserves the right to reschedule or cancel a boat departure because of sea and weather conditions, and says the jetty venue itself is subject to change. It also states it is not responsible for additional costs from bad weather or flight delays. The resort recommends travel insurance, and given the refund clause that recommendation is worth taking seriously.
  • Room availability is only confirmed when the proforma invoice is issued, and a separate clause says the Deluxe Package rate or rack rate applies during peak occupancy periods.
  • Standard rooms are the cheapest for a reason. The resort places them above the dive centre near Laguna Jetty, roughly 250 metres from the resort lobby and the beach.
  • Check-in is 3pm and check-out is 11am.
  • The 7.30am boat from the resort jetty to Merang Jetty is run by a third party, is chargeable, is subject to availability and must be booked at least two days ahead. The resort takes no responsibility for its delays or cancellations.

Is this really the last window?

The resort's own FAQ says the east coast is best avoided from November to February, that many beach resorts close during those months, and that they typically reopen in March. It then adds a note of its own: the northeast monsoon affecting Redang has been arriving later in recent years, starting only in December, which is why it treats September and October as non-monsoon months.

Put that next to the rate cards, which all stop at 2 November, and the picture is consistent. If you want Redang in 2026, these four weeks are what is left.
