> Quick view: Sunway Lost World of Tambun sells its own tickets through its own web store, and prints two promo codes at the top of the ticket pages without saying what either is worth. We ran both through the cart on 7 September 2026 and again on 8 September 2026, when both still worked. On day tickets WS2602MYKAD is the one that matters, taking a Malaysian adult from RM160 to RM120. On the annual pass it is refused, and WS2602ONLINE takes RM450 off instead. The store allows one code per cart, so those are two separate transactions.

Most people arriving at the Ipoh theme park do one of two things. They pay the published walk-in rate of RM160 an adult, or they show a MyKad at the counter and pay RM125. Both are the wrong answer, and Sunway tells you so on its own website if you read the small line above the terms.

At the top of the theme park ticket page in Sunway's own store sits a single sentence: insert the online promo code WS2602ONLINE on both the theme park page and the night park page to claim your discount. Directly beneath it is a second sentence naming a MyKad promo code, WS2602MYKAD. Neither sentence says what the discount is. There is no campaign page, no poster and no end date, and the "Highlights & Promotions" link in the store's own header returns a 404. The only way to find out what the codes do is to put tickets in a basket and type them in, which is what we did.

What the codes are actually worth

The discount box is not on the ticket page at all. It appears on the shopping cart page, labelled "Enter Code", once you have something in the basket.

With WS2602MYKAD applied, a theme park adult ticket drops from RM160 to RM120, a cut of RM40. A child aged 12 or under, or a senior aged 60 and above, drops from RM140 to RM103, a cut of RM37. On the separate Hot Springs and Night Park ticket, which covers the 6pm to 11pm session, an adult falls from RM130 to RM100 and a child or senior from RM105 to RM80.

With WS2602ONLINE, the same tickets barely move. Every theme park tier loses exactly RM5. The night park adult loses RM5 and the night park child and senior lose RM7 each, which is the only place the two codes differ in shape rather than size.

The comparison table above sets all of this against Sunway's published rate card. The pattern is worth stating plainly, because it settles a question a lot of Ipoh families get wrong: the online MyKad price is exactly RM5 below the walk-in MyKad price on every single tier, with no exceptions. Buying at the counter with your identity card is never the cheapest way in. For two adults and two children the theme park costs RM446 online, RM466 at the MyKad counter and RM600 at the published walk-in rate.

The pass is where the real money is, and the codes swap places

Sunway sells a 12-month Lost World Hot Springs and Night Park Annual Pass. In the store it is listed at RM648. On the membership page it is advertised to Malaysians at RM198 against that RM648 published rate, and the store's own terms tell you to enter the online promo code to get there.

We tested it. WS2602MYKAD was rejected outright, throwing an error dialog reading "Unable to apply discount WS2602MYKAD" and leaving the pass at RM648. WS2602ONLINE applied a discount of RM450 and brought it to RM198. This is the exact opposite of the day-ticket behaviour, and it is the trap in this whole exercise: the code with MYKAD in the name is the Malaysian discount on tickets, but the Malaysian discount on the pass comes from the code that sounds like it is for everybody.

At RM198 for 12 months, the pass is priced against a single online MyKad night ticket of RM100. Two soaks and you have covered it. Everything after that, for a year of daily 6pm to 11pm access, is free. Ten visits works out at RM19.80 a night. Measured against the RM130 walk-in adult rate, the pass beats two walk-in visits by RM62.

There is a second pass on the same page for people who also go to Sunway Lagoon. The Sunway Theme Parks Ultimate Pass is listed at RM598 for Malaysians against a published RM1,088, and covers unlimited access to both Sunway Lagoon and Lost World of Tambun for a year. Against RM120 a day ticket in Ipoh, it breaks even on the fifth visit before you count a single day in Petaling Jaya. It is cardless and lives in the Sunway Super App, so unlike the hot springs pass there is nothing to collect.

Who this is for, and who should skip it

Buy the pass if you live in or near Ipoh and the hot springs is the point. Two visits is a low bar to clear, and the night park runs every night of the year while the theme park does not.

Use WS2602MYKAD and skip the pass if you are visiting Perak once. A family day out on day tickets, bought online, already saves RM154 against the walk-in rate, and the pass cannot pay itself back on a single trip.

Skip both if your trip is more than a month away. Every voucher the store sells is valid for 30 days from the date of purchase, for one-time redemption, and the terms rule out exchange, revalidation, refund, replacement and extension. Buying early to lock in a code is how you lose the money.

The nine nights the night ticket does not work

Buried in the terms on the night park ticket page is a blackout list: 16, 17, 18, 23, 24, 25, 30 and 31 October and 1 November 2026, marked as the Screamfest 2026 event. The theme park day ticket has no equivalent clause.

Those nine dates match the Screamfest 5 banner Sunway uploaded in August 2026, which brands the event Sawadee Screamfest 5 and gives the nights as 16 to 18 October, 23 to 25 October and 30 October to 1 November, from 7.15pm to 11pm, with the hot springs and night park experience included and free entry for members. Sunway refreshed that page on 6 September 2026 with new artwork, and re-checking it on 8 September 2026 still returns no prices and no ticket link — the ticket slot is an image file literally named SF-StayTuned, and the page title still reads Screamfest 4 even though the heading now says Screamfest 5. What the new artwork adds is the theme and an official calendar: the event is billed as Sawadee Screamfest 5, "from the shadows of Siam, restless spirits awaken once more", the nine nights are printed as a highlighted October and November date grid rather than a line of copy, and the page credits Visit Malaysia 2026–2027 and Promising Perak as supporters. What "free entry for members" covers is still not published, so it remains a reason to wait for the terms rather than a reason to buy a pass on the strength of it.

The practical point is timing. A night park voucher bought in the second half of September expires inside that window, so check your intended date against the nine before paying.

The RM25 counter add-on the online store never shows you

Nothing in the web store mentions it, but Sunway sells a queue-jump pass called the Malayana X-Press for RM25, and on its own terms page it is the best-value thing in the park. It is priority access at eight rides and attractions, and it carries one free single entry at Haunted Chambers and one at the Adventure Park Zip Line. Those two rides are RM10 and RM20 on the pay-per-ride list, so RM25 buys you RM30 of rides before the queue-jumping counts for anything.

The catch is where you buy it. Malayana X-Press is sold only at the ticketing counters and the sales counters inside the park — it is not in the online store, so it cannot be added to a WS2602 cart. It is valid only on the day of entry, is non-transferable and non-refundable, tied to the named purchaser, and Sunway can check the pass and confiscate it if someone else is using it. Only a limited number are released each day and sales can be suspended without notice, so it is a "ask at the counter on arrival" item rather than something to plan around.

Clicking the night park photo on Sunway's own site throws an error

This is worth knowing before you assume night tickets are sold out. On Sunway's Play page the Hot Springs and Night Park ticket is a large photo tile with a small "Click Here" link under it. The photo and the link do not go to the same place. The photo points at a store category called WENMRS2026, which as of 8 September 2026 returns "An unexpected error has occurred." The small "Click Here" link points at WENHS, which is the real night park ticket page and loads normally.

If you land on the error page, go back and use the text link rather than the picture, or go straight to the theme park page and use the store's own navigation. The same thing does not happen on the theme park tile, where both the photo and the link point at WENWP.

Fine print that trips people up

The park closes on Tuesdays except on Malaysian school and public holidays, so a Tuesday day ticket is wasted. Theme park hours are 11am to 6pm on weekdays and 10am to 6pm on weekends, school holidays and public holidays. The hot springs and night park runs 6pm to 11pm daily.

Child rates apply to children 90cm and above in height or aged 12 and under, and entry is free below 90cm. Senior rates start at 60 and proof of age is required. If you cannot produce identification at the gate, the store's terms allow Sunway to charge you the difference up to the online admission price.

The annual pass is not an instant purchase. The physical card must be collected in person at the membership counter in Ipoh between 12pm and 8pm, and the pass is processed and activated within five working days of full payment. Renewal is counter-only and only within three months of expiry, and a lost card costs RM25 to replace. Members are not admitted during the New Year's Eve event, and the pass excludes anything separately priced, which covers the whole pay-per-ride list: Swan Paddle Boat at RM5, Boga Cruise at RM6, Haunted Chambers at RM10, Kayak at RM15, Zip Line at RM20, Gua Datok at RM85, the 13 High Rope Course at RM100 a head with a minimum booking of ten, the 6th Mile Tunnel at RM110 and Via Ferrata with Abseil at RM130.

Budget for the rentals separately, because they are charged as a deposit plus a rental fee and Sunway's rate card quotes the total. A double tube is RM32 (RM10 deposit, RM22 rental). A stroller, a wheelchair or a children's push car is RM43 each (RM10 deposit, RM33 rental). Lockers are a flat RM28 small, RM38 medium and RM55 large, all multiple-use for the day.

All ticket prices quoted include the prevailing entertainment tax. The cart shows the split if you want it: an RM160 adult ticket is RM152.38 plus RM7.62 of tax, and an RM198 annual pass is RM188.57 plus RM9.43.

Neither code carries a published end date, and the store's terms reserve Sunway's right to alter, amend, delete, add to or withdraw the promotion at any time without prior notice. The WS2602 prefix suggests a 2026 web store campaign rather than a permanent price, so treat the figures above as a reading, not a fixture. We re-ran both codes on 8 September 2026 and they still applied: an adult theme park ticket came back at RM120, and the pass returned the message "Applied a discount of MYR 450.00" at RM198. Re-check the cart before you commit.
