> Quick view: Padini's Merdeka Clearance ended on 31 August 2026 and is gone. What replaced it is a dated, sitewide discount code — SITEWIDE15, 15% off a minimum spend of RM100, valid 1 to 30 September 2026 — and the fine print on Padini's own banner is the whole story: it excludes B1F1, combo and Deals. That last word matters, because the clearance rail this article was originally about *is* the Deals section. You now have to pick one lane. We re-measured all of them on 8 September.

The live offer, in Padini's own words

Padini's homepage hero on 8 September 2026 carries a campaign banner, published in both a desktop and a square mobile version, that reads:

  • 15% OFF
  • MIN. SPEND OF RM100
  • USE CODE: SITEWIDE15
  • EXCLUDE B1F1, COMBO & DEALS
  • 01.09.2026 – 30.09.2026
  • T&Cs apply

Both versions of the artwork carry identical figures, which is worth noting because Padini has a habit of shipping two posters per campaign that do not say the same thing. This time they agree.

One caution about sourcing: the code, the threshold and the dates appear only inside the banner image. They are not in the page text, and padini.com has no terms-and-conditions or promotions page to check them against — `/terms-and-conditions`, `/promotion-terms` and `/faq` all return 404. If a T&C sheet exists, Padini has not published it on its own website.

Why "excludes Deals" is the catch

Padini's website splits into lanes that do not combine, and SITEWIDE15 is fenced off from the two loudest ones:

  • Full-price catalogue — new-in and current season, all labels: works with SITEWIDE15 above RM100
  • Deals / LASTCHANCE rail — 1,373 marked-down Concept Store items: excluded, "Deals" is named on the banner
  • Brands Outlet multi-buys — 3 for RM55, 2 for RM70, B1F1 RM89.90: excluded, both B1F1 and combo are named

So the code is not a way to sharpen a clearance basket. It is a discount on merchandise that is not otherwise discounted.

What happened to the clearance after Merdeka

This is the part that changed most, and it changed in the direction people do not expect. Re-sampling the LASTCHANCE rail on 8 September, across 160 product tiles:

  • The rail shrank from about 2,100 items to 1,373.
  • The markdown ladder now runs 14 steps, from RM16 → RM13 at the bottom to RM119 → RM99 at the top.
  • Cuts run 9.3% to 18.8%, median 15.4%. On 31 August the same rail ran 20.4% to 30.3%, median 20.7%.

The clearance got shallower when Merdeka ended, not deeper. The homepage's old "MERDEKA DEALS, up to 31% off" claim is gone from the site, and nothing on the rail today comes close to 31% — the single deepest cut we found was 18.8%, on a PDI kids' tee dropping RM16 to RM13.

Two things did improve. The entry price fell from RM19 to RM13, and the RM10-to-RM20 price band went from 7 items to 69. The under-RM10 band is still empty, so RM13 is the genuine online floor.

Everything else on the rail is unchanged: all 160 tiles we sampled still carry "[Not valid for Exchange]" inside the product name itself. Clearance stock is final sale.

One number to distrust: `/deals.html` still has a page title reading "Up to 50% Off". With a measured maximum of 18.8%, that title now overstates the rail by roughly two and a half times. Ignore it.

The Brands Outlet multi-buys, including two new ones

The Promotions rails — which are Brands Outlet labels, a different chain from Concept Store — now hold 458 items (286 men, 109 women, 63 kids), down from 623. The bundles live on 8 September:

  • Buy 1 Free 1 at RM89.90 — Ropé and Industrie shirts, so RM44.95 each, a straight 50% and still the deepest single mechanic on the whole site
  • 2 for RM100 — Garage
  • 2 for RM70 — Industrie
  • 2 for RM50 — Oceano boardshorts *(new since August)*
  • 2 for RM39.90 — Portofino *(new since August)*
  • 3 for RM55 — Garage, Hotshots and Gamester tees

The two new bundles are the cheapest entry points Padini has run online in months. But per our standing warning about loud bundles: 3 for RM55 on RM19.90 tees saves RM4.70 in total, about 7.9%. It is the worst-value offer on this list despite being the most advertised.

Two free gifts, both undated

Padini is also running two gift-with-purchase offers. Neither carries a start or end date, and both say "while stocks last":

  • Free pop socket with any Sanrio characters collection purchase. The design is random — the banner says so explicitly. The Sanrio collection runs 396 items, priced RM19 to RM89 on the first page.
  • Free Stitch sticker sheet with any purchase from the Stitch collection (Padini Authentics x Disney).

A sourcing note worth flagging: the Stitch banner's filename is `9.9_deals_homepage_banner`, but the artwork itself mentions no 9.9 sale, no percentage and no date — only the free sticker. If you have seen a "Padini 9.9 sale" claim circulating, it is not supported by anything Padini has actually published. Treat the filename as a naming convention, not as a promotion.

Worked examples

A RM100 full-price basket. Two Seed shirts at RM59 each = RM118. Apply SITEWIDE15 → RM100.30, saving RM17.70. Qualifies, because nothing in the basket is on the Deals rail.

A clearance basket. Three Concept Store shirts at RM43 each, reduced from RM49 = RM129. That clears the RM100 threshold, but the code will not apply because they are Deals items. Your saving stays at RM18, or 12.2%, and the items cannot be exchanged.

The comparison that matters. The clearance rail's median cut is now 15.4%, and SITEWIDE15 is 15%. On percentage terms the rail no longer meaningfully beats the sitewide code — but the code's lane covers the full catalogue, current sizes, and stock you can exchange. If you were shopping the clearance out of habit, September is the month to check the full-price rail with the code instead.

If you want maximum depth, ignore both and take a Brands Outlet Buy 1 Free 1 at RM89.90. At RM44.95 a shirt that is 50% off, roughly triple the best clearance cut. It is a different shop, and the code will not apply, but it is the deepest number on the site.

How to pick

  1. Spending over RM100 on current-season clothes? Use SITEWIDE15 before 30 September.
  2. Hunting the cheapest possible item? Go to the Deals rail — RM13 floor — and accept no exchanges and no code.
  3. Buying shirts in twos? Brands Outlet Buy 1 Free 1 beats everything else on percentage.
  4. Collecting Sanrio or Stitch? Buy the collection pieces and take the free gift, but do not wait — both are undated and stock-limited.

What is still standing, undated

  • Free lifetime membership, auto-enrolled through the app: up to 5% yearly points rebate excluding tax, plus a 20% birthday code
  • A free RM10 voucher for completing your app profile — the banner is still on the homepage
  • All Under RM29 on womenswear: 473 items in the RM10 to RM29.90 band, down from 698 in late August

"Undated" cuts both ways. Padini can pull any of these without notice, so open the rail before you build a basket around it.

What died on 31 August

For the record, since this page originally covered it: the Merdeka Clearance ran 21 to 31 August 2026 at Padini Concept Store outlets nationwide, storewide, from as low as RM9 on the second version of its poster. It was not extended — consistent with Padini's own May 2026 wording, "a week only, no extensions." The RM9 in-store entry price has no September equivalent that Padini has published; the nearest thing is the RM13 online floor.
