What Padini actually announced

Padini Holdings posted the campaign on its official Facebook page on 9 September 2026, tagged at The Spring Mall, Kuching Sarawak. The wording is short: "Big savings before we take a little break from The Spring Kuching. Items from RM9 ... We'll be taking a little break for renovation, so come say goodbye for now and shop your favourites before we temporarily close our doors." The post signs off by pointing at "deals starting tomorrow onwards", which puts day one at Wednesday 10 September 2026.

The artwork carries more detail than the caption does. It reads RENOVATION CLEARANCE, then AS LOW AS RM9, then four asterisked lines: only valid at Padini Concept Store The Spring Kuching, no reservation and no refund, terms and conditions apply, and while stocks last.

What is missing from the caption and from the poster is a closing date. There is no "until 30 September", no countdown and no reopening date for the refitted store. That is not a gap we are willing to fill in for you, because printing a date Padini never gave would be inventing the single most important fact in a clearance. Treat this as a shop-it-now sale that can end on any day the racks run dry or the shutters come down.

We re-checked on 11 September 2026, the clearance's second day. There is still no end date anywhere: not on Padini's post, not on the artwork, and not on The Spring's own shop directory page for the store, which carries no renovation or closure notice at all. The store is also still trading. Google's listing for it shows normal hours of 10am to 10pm on all seven days and carries no "temporarily closed" flag, which is the marker that would appear once the shutters actually come down.

Re-checked 21 October 2026: day 42, still open

Six weeks in, the shutters still have not come down, and there is still no published end date. We re-read every source on Tuesday 21 October 2026:

  • Google's listing shows the shop open that day, closing at 10pm, with no "temporarily closed" flag.
  • Padini Holdings has redesigned its store page, and the new version still lists Padini Concept Store The Spring Kuching at Lot 141 to 144, First Floor, open daily 10am to 10pm.
  • Kuching now shows five Padini-group stores, not four. A Brands Outlet at Boulevard Shopping Mall (Lot G-1.25 to G-1.28, Ground Floor) has joined the list. Sarawak shows nine stores in total, and the Padini Concept Store at Times Square Megamall in Bintulu no longer appears.
  • No end date and no reopening date have been published anywhere we could read.

The online picture has flipped

The biggest change is on padini.com. Its Deals section has been rebuilt under a "Deals, sale up to 50% off, limited time" banner with no dates on it, and it now holds 2,958 items, up from 133 on 3 October. Its Under RM10 band, which was empty in September, now holds seven items at exactly RM9:

  • four Vincci Accessories MagSafe phone accessories, marked down from RM19
  • three PDI Butterbear girls' sock packs, marked down from RM13

So RM9 is no longer something only Kuching shoppers can get. But none of the seven is clothing. The cheapest clothes we found online on 21 October were RM19: Seed and Padini Authentics kids' tees and shorts, marked down from RM29. For an actual garment, the RM9 rack at The Spring is still RM10 cheaper than anything online.

Shipping changes the maths too. padini.com ships free above RM120 to West Malaysia and above RM150 to East Malaysia. Five pairs of RM9 socks come to RM45, far short of either threshold. Online, RM9 works as a top-up to a bigger order, not as a reason to order on its own.

Re-checked 3 October 2026: day 24, still trading

The clearance has now outlasted September, and it still has no published end date. We re-read the sources on Saturday 3 October 2026:

  • Google's listing for the shop shows it open that day, closing at 10pm, with no "temporarily closed" flag.
  • Padini Holdings' own store locator still lists The Spring Kuching Padini Concept Store at Lot No. 141-144, First Floor, among 168 Padini-group stores nationwide, with the same four Kuching shops as before.
  • No end date and no reopening date have been published anywhere we could read.

So the shutters have still not come down. After more than three weeks of clearance, expect the RM9 rack to be thin and the size run patchy, and keep trying everything on, because the no-refund rule still applies. If you are deciding whether to go this weekend or next month, go sooner. A clearance that ends "while stocks last" does not give notice.

padini.com has shrunk a long way since September. On 3 October 2026 its whole Deals section held just 133 items, down from 1,481 on 22 September, and its LASTCHANCE rail returned no products at all. The Under RM10 band now holds one item, a Vincci Party Heels pair at exactly RM10, and the RM10 to RM20 band holds five, all Vincci pieces at RM19 plus a Garage tee at RM19.90. None of those are Padini Concept Store labels. The RM9 floor in Kuching is still RM1 below anything on padini.com, and it is now the only deep clearance Padini is visibly running anywhere.

October's online codes, and why they will not help here

padini.com's homepage is now carrying a nationwide offer called Click Shop Save, dated 1 to 31 October 2026. It has four codes: SYOK10 takes RM10 off above RM100, SYOK20 RM20 off above RM150, SYOK30 RM30 off above RM200 and SYOK50 RM50 off above RM300. The banner's fine print excludes combo, Deals and Buy 1 Free 1 items, so none of the clearance-priced stock qualifies. As of 3 October, padini.com's terms page still carried September's SITEWIDE15 text, so the banner is the only published source for the October codes.

They only work on full-price pieces. Two items at RM69 and RM49 come to RM118, and SYOK10 takes that to RM108, a saving of about 8.5%. A RM69, RM59 and RM49 basket comes to RM177, and SYOK20 brings it to RM157. Two RM49 items come to RM98, which misses the RM100 minimum. These codes help someone outside Kuching who wants current-season Padini. If you want the lowest possible price, the RM9 rack in Kuching still beats them easily.

Re-checked 22 September 2026: day 13, still open

Nearly two weeks in, the clearance is still running and nothing about it has been formalised. We re-read every source on Tuesday 22 September 2026:

  • Google's listing for the shop shows it open that day, closing at 10pm, with no "temporarily closed" flag.
  • Padini Holdings' own store locator still lists The Spring Kuching Padini Concept Store at Lot No. 141-144, First Floor, on +60 82-425 785, alongside the other three Padini-group shops in Kuching. It has not been pulled.
  • The Spring's shop directory still shows Padini Concept Store at Lot 141 on the First Floor, with no renovation or closure notice.
  • No end date and no reopening date have been published anywhere.

What that tells you: the shutters have not come down, but a clearance that has run for 13 days has had nearly two weeks of shoppers picking through the middle sizes. If you are going now, go expecting the RM9 rack to be thin and the size run to be patchy, and try everything on, because the no-refund rule has not changed.

padini.com has not moved either. On 22 September 2026 its Deals section held 1,481 items (down from 1,510 on 11 September), its Under RM10 band still returned no products, and its RM10 to RM20 band held 57 items with a floor of RM13, led by PDI boys' casual shorts. The RM9 floor is still an in-store-only price.

Where it is, and the one store it applies to

Padini Holdings' own store locator lists the shop as Padini Concept Store, The Spring Kuching, Lot No. 141-144, First Floor, The Spring, Jalan Simpang Tiga, on +60 82-425 785. The Spring opens 10am to 10pm daily, so a weekday morning run before work is realistic.

The fine print pins the clearance to that address and no other. Kuching's second Padini Concept Store, at Vivacity Megamall, is trading normally and its prices are unaffected.

What RM9 is actually beating

"As low as RM9" is a floor, not a flat price, and a floor is usually one thin rack near the back. The useful question is what that floor beats.

We read Padini's own Concept Store listing on padini.com during this run. It showed 131 items. Only three of them were priced under RM20, all at exactly RM19: a Seed Dragon Ball kids' polo, a pair of Padini Authentics Essential ladies' short jeans, and a PDI casual boys' short-sleeve shirt. Only six of the 131 came in under RM30. The prices that actually repeat are RM49 on 33 items, RM69 on 31, RM59 on 17, RM79 on 14 and RM39 on 13, and the range runs all the way to RM269.

So an RM9 tag sits RM10 below the cheapest thing on Padini's online Concept Store page, and roughly RM40 to RM60 below what the chain normally asks for a mainstream tee, skort or shirt. Five items at RM9 come to RM45, which is still less than one RM49 item at the online price.

That is the honest scale of the discount. It also explains the no-refund line. This is end-of-life inventory being moved before a shopfitter arrives, not a seasonal markdown.

RM9 on padini.com: none in September, socks and phone gear by late October

The obvious question if you are not in Kuching is whether the same prices exist online. In September they did not, and Padini's own website is what proved it. (By 21 October seven non-clothing items had dropped to RM9 online; see the day-42 update above.)

padini.com runs a permanent Deals section, and on 11 September 2026 it held 1,510 items sorted into price bands. One of those bands is literally called Under RM10. We opened it on 11 September 2026 and it returned "We can't find products matching the selection" — the shelf is empty. There is no item under RM10 anywhere in Padini's online clearance.

The cheapest band that has anything in it is RM10 to RM20, and it holds 64 items with a floor of RM13: PDI short-sleeve knit multipacks for men and boys, a PDI girls' legging, and a Vincci Accessories MagSafe phone accessory. Above that, the RM20 to RM50 band runs from RM24, and the LASTCHANCE band holds 1,370 items spanning RM24 to RM109.

So the Kuching floor of RM9 undercuts Padini's entire online clearance catalogue by RM4, and undercuts its cheapest full-price Concept Store item by RM10. That is the clearest case for going in person while the racks are still full.

One more thing the online section confirms: every single product name in Padini's Deals catalogue ends with the tag "[Not valid for Exchange]". The no-exchange rule on the Kuching poster is not a one-off written for this shop. It is how Padini sells clearance stock everywhere.

What is likely to be on the racks

A Padini Concept Store is a multi-label shop rather than a single brand. Padini's own Concept Store page groups its stock under six house labels: Padini (in Casual and Work lines), Padini Authentics, PDI, P&Co, Seed and Miki. On the online listing this run, Seed, PDI and Padini Authentics were the three largest blocks, which is a fair guide to what a Concept Store clearance rack tends to be heavy on: casual basics, kids' and boys' wear, and workwear staples.

The catches worth knowing before you go

No reservation means staff will not hold a size behind the counter while you think it over or go back for a partner. No refund means no exchange either once you have paid, so anything that depends on fit has to be tried on in the shop rather than at home.

"While stocks last" behaves differently on a clearance than on a normal sale. Sizes empty unevenly: the middle of the size run goes first, and what survives to the end is the extremes. Week one is worth considerably more than week three, and there may not be a week three.

The clearance's busiest stretch is behind it. The Spring's Torabera ACG Fest (11 to 13 September) and the Malaysia Day public holiday on 16 September both fell in the first week, and both have passed. A weekday morning, in the quiet first hour after the 10am opening, is now the easy option.

Within a day, the store's own footfall curve is blunt about the best hour. Google's popular-times data for this shop puts it at 29 per cent of peak at 10am and 34 per cent at 11am, climbing to around 58 per cent by 2pm and staying there through the afternoon. The store opens at 10am seven days a week, so the first hour after opening is roughly half as crowded as the middle of the day.

Who this is for, and who should skip it

Go if you live in or near Kuching, already wear Padini basics, and take a common size. A clearance floor of RM9 at a chain whose cheapest online clothing is still RM19 is a genuinely good hour of shopping.

Skip it if you are not already in Kuching. This is one shop, with an unknown quantity of stock and no published end date, which is not something to plan a trip around. Skip it too if you need a particular size or a current-season piece, because no refund plus no reservation is a poor combination for a fussy purchase. If you simply want Padini's current range rather than its leftovers, the Vivacity Megamall store and padini.com are both still open to you.

What Kuching is left with afterwards

The detail worth carrying away is what happens to the city's Padini footprint. Padini Holdings' store page listed ten group stores across Sarawak on 10 September, four of them in Kuching: Padini Concept Stores at The Spring and at Vivacity Megamall, plus Brands Outlets at Vivacity Megamall and at AEON Mall Kuching Central. By 21 October it listed nine in Sarawak and five in Kuching, with a Brands Outlet at Boulevard Shopping Mall added. Once The Spring store closes for its refit, Kuching is down to a single Padini Concept Store, the one at Vivacity.

Elsewhere in the state, Padini Concept Stores continue at Permaisuri Imperial City Mall in Miri and at The Spring Bintulu. The Times Square Megamall store in Bintulu was on the September list but no longer appears on the 21 October one.

Padini says the closure is temporary and that the store will be back, but it has not published a reopening date either.
