> Quick view: Resorts World Langkawi has five packages running the whole of 2026, and unusually it also publishes a price for every activity it puts inside them. That makes the bundles checkable. Two of them are worth buying, one is a coin flip, and one is more expensive than doing it yourself.
Most Malaysian resort packages are impossible to judge, because the resort never tells you what the bundled activity costs on its own. Resorts World Langkawi is the rare exception. Its Fun and Adventure Packages page prints a ringgit figure for the sunset cruise, the island hopping trip, the mangrove safari and the fishing charter, and its Hot Deals page prints the package rates. Put the two side by side and the packages stop being marketing.
Here is what the resort is selling for the rest of 2026.
The base rate: The Perfect Langkawi Escape
This is the plainest thing on the list. One night, buffet breakfast for two at Seagull Restaurant, valid 1 January to 31 December 2026. Signature Suite bookings get breakfast for four instead of two. The rate card is in the table above.
Two things stand out. The first is that a Standard room with breakfast starts at RM255 nett for a Genting Rewards or SkyCard member, which is a genuinely low number for a sea-facing resort on Langkawi. The second is that the member discount is not one percentage. On the four cheaper room types it is a flat RM20 to RM24, worth roughly 7.3 to 7.7 per cent. On the Studio and the Signature Suite it is exactly 10 per cent, worth RM49 and RM154. The member rate gets better as you spend more, which is the opposite of how most hotel loyalty rates behave in Malaysia.
Genting Rewards entry level is the Classic or SkyClassic card. Above it, Silver and SkySilver need 100 Tier Points, Gold and SkyGold need 300, and Platinum is 10,000 Tier Points and by invitation only. The rate card shows a single member column, so the discount does not appear to scale with tier: a Classic card gets the same RM255 as a Gold one.
The activity packages, priced against the resort's own menu
Four 3D2N packages sit above the base rate. All four are nett, all four include daily breakfast, WiFi, on-site parking, 30 minutes of bicycle rental, a scheduled shuttle to Cenang Mall and 20 per cent off food at the resort's outlets (promotional items excluded).
To test them, we need the resort's a-la-carte prices, which it publishes: the Sunset BBQ Dinner Cruise is RM280 an adult and RM140 a child, island hopping on a sharing boat is RM50 an adult and RM35 a child, the mangrove safari is RM180 and RM130, a private fishing session for four is RM550, kayaks are RM45 an hour and bicycles RM10 an hour.
Golden Hour Sunset Cruise Experience, RM926 member / RM970 non-member. Two nights in a Premier room, daily breakfast for two, sunset cruise for two. Build it yourself and you pay RM268 twice for the Premier room with breakfast (RM536), plus RM280 twice for the cruise (RM560). That is RM1,096 against the package's RM926, a RM170 saving. Non-members get the identical RM170 gap: RM1,140 against RM970. In effect the cruise drops from RM280 a head to RM195. This is the clearest win on the list.
Wellness Spa Package, RM746 / RM790. Two nights in a Premier room, daily breakfast for two, a one-hour full body massage each. The room half is RM536, so the two massages are priced at RM210, or RM105 each. The resort's spa treatment page publishes no rates at all, so this is the one package that cannot be checked against a walk-in price. RM105 for an hour of massage at a resort spa is reasonable rather than remarkable.
Syok-Nya Island Hopping, RM928 / RM972. Two nights in a Premier room, daily breakfast for two adults and two children, island hopping for four, and one dinner at Salt Shack Bar for four. The room and adult breakfast half is RM536. Island hopping for two adults and two children on the sharing boat is RM170. That leaves RM222 covering two children's breakfasts across two mornings plus a dinner for four. It is not bad, but it is far thinner than the cruise package, and the reason is structural: island hopping is the cheapest activity the resort sells, so bundling it cannot generate much value. The cruise, at RM280 a head, can.
Resorts World Langkawi Suite Getaway, RM4,484 / RM4,790. Two nights in a Signature Suite, daily breakfast for four, one sunset cruise for four, a romantic dinner for four on the first night, minibar refreshments and the 20 per cent dining discount. Assemble it yourself: two nights of The Perfect Langkawi Escape in a Signature Suite is RM1,386 twice (RM2,772, breakfast for four already included), and four sunset cruise seats are RM280 each (RM1,120). Total RM3,892 against the package's RM4,484. The RM592 gap buys the romantic dinner and the minibar, which works out at RM148 a head for one dinner. If that dinner matters to you, take the package. If it does not, book the two suite nights and add four cruise tickets at reception and keep the RM592. One caveat: RM1,386 is a "from" rate, so on a peak date the do-it-yourself route narrows.
What a booking on the day actually looks like
We ran the resort's booking engine on 6 September 2026 for that same night, one guest, one room. Four rates came back, and none of them matched the Hot Deals rate card.

Standard, Standard Seaview, Premier and Premier Seaview did not appear at all for that night. The lesson is the word "from": the rate card lists The Perfect Langkawi Escape Studio from RM490 non-member, and the engine wanted RM560 for that date. The Signature Suite version is listed from RM1,540, and the engine wanted RM1,750. The RM1,540 that did appear was a room-only Best Available Rate, the same number by coincidence rather than the same product.
A banner across the results read "Flash Sale Extended: Save up to 35%" with no start date, no end date and no terms behind the View link. Treat it as decoration and price the room instead.
The RM10 nobody prints
Every hotel night on Langkawi carries a Langkawi Tourism Promotion Fee of RM10 per room per night, effective 1 January 2026 and payable at check-out. It applies to Malaysians. PARKROYAL Langkawi Resort states it in its own booking terms, word for word: "Additional fees include the Langkawi Tourism Promotion Fee of MYR 10.00 per room per night (effective 1 January 2026) and the Malaysia Tourism Tax of MYR 10.00 per room per night for non-Malaysian citizens. Both are payable upon check-out."
Two separate charges, and only the second one spares locals. Resorts World Langkawi's package pages and its booking results list do not mention either. On a 3D2N package that is RM20 added at check-out for a Malaysian family; the RM10 Tourism Tax on top applies only if your passport is not Malaysian.
Who this is for, and who should skip it
Take the sunset cruise package if you were going to do the cruise anyway. It is the only bundle on the list that clearly beats buying the pieces, and the RM170 is real at both member and non-member rates.
Take the plain Perfect Langkawi Escape if you want a cheap sea-facing night. RM255 to RM286 for a room with breakfast for two is competitive on this island, and you can add any activity at reception at the published rate.
Think twice about the family island hopping package. If your children will not sit through a three-hour boat trip, you are better off booking two Premier nights and deciding on the morning, when island hopping costs RM50 an adult and RM35 a child.
Skip the Suite Getaway unless the romantic dinner is the point. Otherwise you are paying RM592 for one meal.
Watch the calendar. Saturdays, the eve of a public holiday and public holidays all carry a RM60 nett per room per night surcharge in 2026. A Friday-to-Sunday 3D2N stay picks up one of those nights, so add RM60 before comparing anything.
Fine print that costs money
- The surcharge is RM60, not RM150, in 2026. The Suite Getaway page prints "a surcharge of RM150 nett per room per night" in its main terms, then contradicts itself at the foot of the same page with "2025: RM150 nett per room per night. 2026: RM60 nett per room per night." The other three 3D2N packages say RM60 outright. Go by RM60 and query it if the invoice says otherwise.
- Nothing is pre-booked. Every package page says entitlements are issued by the Front Office at check-in, and that cruise, kayak and bicycle slots must be registered at reception on arrival for "the next available slot". Arrive late on a full weekend and the cruise you paid for may not fall on the night you wanted.
- No refunds, at all. All five pages carry the same line: no refund if the package is cancelled or unutilised. There is no partial credit for a cruise you missed.
- The 20 per cent dining discount excludes promotional items, which is where a resort usually puts its set menus.
- Availability is the real constraint. On the night we checked, four of the six room types were simply not bookable.
Getting there
Resorts World Langkawi is at Tanjung Malai, 07000 Langkawi, on the Kuah side of the island rather than the Cenang side, which is why the resort runs a scheduled shuttle to Cenang Mall. The resort's own travel notes put Kuala Lumpur to Langkawi at about 50 minutes by air and Singapore to Langkawi at about 1 hour 25 minutes. By ferry to Kuah it is roughly 45 minutes from Kuala Perlis, 1 hour 30 minutes from Kuala Kedah and 2 hours from Penang. Driving from Kuala Lumpur to Kuala Perlis is around 528km and seven hours before you board.
