> Quick view: Lemon Garden at Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur runs a Deepavali dinner buffet for five nights, 5 to 9 November 2026. Adults normally pay RM198 nett on the two quieter nights and RM258 nett on the three peak nights. Buy an e-ticket on the hotel's own online shop by 31 October and those drop to RM168.30 and RM219.30, a saving of RM29.70 to RM38.70 a head.

What the buffet is
The hotel is billing this year's Deepavali dinner around Chef Brahmanand Yadav, its specialty Indian chef, who has more than 35 years in hotel kitchens in India and Malaysia. The offer page highlights his tandoor cooking, spice blending and vegetarian dishes. Shangri-La has not published a full menu. Its campaign photo shows tandoori-style pieces, naan, a pilau-style rice, two curries, dal, a vegetable salad and raita, which gives a fair idea of the direction.
It is a dinner buffet only. The online shop lists one session a night, 6pm to 10pm, with an allocation of 100 e-tickets per night.
The price ladder
- Thu 5 Nov: RM198 nett walk-in, RM168.30 early bird, child RM99
- Fri 6 Nov: RM258 nett walk-in, RM219.30 early bird, child RM129
- Sat 7 Nov: RM258 nett walk-in, RM219.30 early bird, child RM129
- Sun 8 Nov (Deepavali): RM258 nett walk-in, RM219.30 early bird, child RM129
- Mon 9 Nov (replacement holiday): RM198 nett walk-in, RM168.30 early bird, child RM99
The useful quirk is Monday 9 November. It is the replacement public holiday for Deepavali, yet the hotel prices it at the lower weeknight rate. If your family is off work that day, it is the cheapest way into the festive spread.
How to book the early bird
- Go to the Shangri-La Boutique shop for Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur and open Buffet Deals. The listing is called "[15% OFF] EARLY BIRD OFFER, Deepavali Buffet Dinner".
- Pick your date. The price changes automatically between the RM168.30 and RM219.30 nights.
- Add adult and child tickets, then pay by card or Apple Pay. You can also pay in Shangri-La Circle points (730 or 950 points per adult), but the points price is the full price, so points buyers do not get the 15%.
- Your e-ticket with a QR code arrives by email. Show it at Lemon Garden on the night.
The early-bird wording on the hotel's offer page says it is available until 31 October 2026. Because the shop needs 24 hours' notice, do not leave it to the last evening.
Worked examples
- A couple on Saturday 7 November: 2 x RM219.30 = RM438.60, against RM516 at the door. You save RM77.40.
- Two adults and two kids aged 4 and 6 on Monday 9 November: if one adult is a Shangri-La Circle member, the two children eat free and you pay RM336.60. Without membership each child pays half, which adds two RM99 child tickets for RM534.60. Circle is free to join, so signing up before you book is worth RM198 here.
- An office group of eight on Thursday 5 November: 8 x RM168.30 = RM1,346.40, against RM1,584. You save RM237.60.
Who it suits, and who should skip it
It suits families who want a Deepavali dinner without cooking for a crowd, vegetarians (the chef's vegetarian cooking is part of the pitch), and anyone hosting non-Indian friends who want to try a festive spread. Groups gain the most, because the saving scales per head.
Skip it if you cannot commit to a date. The e-ticket is locked to one night and cannot be moved or refunded, so if plans are uncertain, call 03-2786 2378 and pay the walk-in price later. Also skip it if you want lunch: there is no Deepavali lunch buffet.
The fine print that trips people up
- Children are not discounted. The 15% applies to adult tickets only. Child tickets stay at RM99 or RM129, which is half the walk-in adult price.
- The free-kids rule needs a member. Children aged 1 to 6 eat free only when the paying adult is a Shangri-La Circle member, up to two children. A third child pays half for everyone. The listing does not spell out the age band for older children, so ask the restaurant if yours is 7 or over.
- No stacking. The e-ticket cannot be combined with other discounts, vouchers or card privileges.
- No changes. No amendments, cancellations or date changes once paid. A lost QR code is not replaced.
Two more Lemon Garden deals ending 31 October
The same shop also has an RM41 off anniversary price on regular Lemon Garden buffets, for dining until 31 October: weekday lunch RM137 (from RM178), weekend lunch and weekday dinner RM157 (from RM198), and weekend dinner RM217 (from RM258). The Halloween Night Buffet Dinner on Saturday 31 October is also RM217 (from RM258). Note that a regular weekend dinner this month costs about the same as a peak-night Deepavali early bird, so pick based on which spread you want.
Deepavali goodies to take home
If you would rather gift than dine, the hotel's Deepavali Festive Treasures are on the same shop, for collection from 26 October to 8 November. Prices start at RM48 for chocolate bars and RM58 for jars of ghee chocolate chip, jeera or nankhatai cookies. A 12-piece praline box is RM98, a 12-piece sweet gift box RM228, the Deepavali designer cake RM278, and hampers run RM468, RM588 and RM688.
Prices and seats were checked on Shangri-La's offer page and the Shangri-La Boutique shop on 24 October 2026. Book on the official offer page.
