> This sale has ended. Shopee Malaysia's 8.8 Merdeka Sale closed on 9 August 2026, and the 9.9 Super Shopping Day that followed closed on 10 September 2026. Checked on 14 September 2026, the next two Shopee campaigns are the September 25 Payday Sale and the 10.10 Brands Festival (26 September to 13 October 2026). The 8.8 breakdown below is kept as a dated record, with the voucher maths that carries over.
What's next on Shopee Malaysia
- September 25 Payday Sale — Friday 25 September 2026. Shopee's Payday calendar page is titled "Shopee September 25 Payday Sale 2026". The mechanics it lists are free shipping with min. spend RM10, RM25 Deals and 10% Rebate Now. The start of the window has not been published; August's edition ran 19-25 August.
- 10.10 Brands Festival — 26 September to 13 October 2026. Shopee's own 10.10 page description reads "From 26 September to 13 October", with Lowest Price Guaranteed, Free Shipping with No Min. Spend and 120% Coins Cashback. No press release with voucher amounts or drop times had been issued as of 14 September, and parts of that page still show older campaign tiles, so treat anything beyond those three mechanics as unconfirmed.
How 8.8 compared with 9.9
- 8.8 Merdeka Sale (26 July-9 August): VIP vouchers worth up to RM8,800, RM800 off RM1,600 Knockout Vouchers, 88% off vouchers, RM8 Knockout Deals, Buy Today Get Today delivery
- 9.9 Super Shopping Day (26 August-10 September): VIP vouchers worth up to RM9,900, an RM999 off VIP-exclusive Knockout Voucher, RM9 Knockout Deals, 50% off Shocking Sale, 80% off delivery vouchers in timed drops on 8-9 September, and a 2-month VIP free trial plus RM28 off for sign-ups from 26 August to 9 September
- The pattern: each double-date sale opens about two weeks before the date, the knockout amounts step up with the number (RM800 → RM999), and the biggest vouchers sit behind the paid VIP tier

The voucher maths
Threshold vouchers are worth the most at exactly the minimum spend, and shrink fast above it.
- RM800 off RM1,600: a RM1,600 basket costs RM800 — 50% off. At RM2,000 you pay RM1,200, which is 40% off. The voucher only earns its headline if the purchase is already close to RM1,600.
- RM10 off RM20: a RM20 basket is 50% off; a RM60 basket is only 16.7% off. Splitting orders to hit the RM20 floor helps only if each order also gets free shipping.
- 10% Rebate Now (25 September Payday): on a RM150 basket that is RM15 off at checkout, before any cap Shopee sets in the voucher terms. The cap is not in Shopee's campaign description.
- 120% Coins Cashback (10.10): cashback arrives as Shopee Coins that offset a *future* order, so it does not lower what you pay today. A rebate is a direct discount; cashback is a credit for next time.
Is Shopee VIP worth it?
An earlier version of this article said Shopee VIP was free to join. It is a paid subscription. Shopee's March and April 2026 releases describe a free 1-month trial, then RM4.50 a month; the 9.9 sign-up window offered a 2-month trial. Check the in-app price before subscribing, since trial terms change by campaign.
- Subscribe for a sale month if you place several small orders a month (Everything Free Shipping has no minimum spend) or you are planning one large purchase where a VIP-only knockout voucher or 30% voucher saves far more than RM4.50
- Skip it if you shop once a month, or your basket already clears the non-VIP free shipping threshold
- Cancel before the trial ends if you only joined for one campaign
Fine print that carried across every 2026 sale
- Knockout vouchers, 88%/80% off drops and RM8/RM9 deals are limited-quantity, time-gated drops that sell out quickly
- Same Day and Instant Delivery apply to eligible items and delivery areas, with the 12pm/3pm cut-offs
- Shopee removes each campaign's T&C article after the sale, so per-voucher caps cannot be checked afterwards; screenshot the terms when you claim
