> Quick view: Shopee's August 25 Payday Sale is over — its own hub is now an empty thank-you shell. The next edition is 25 September 2026, advertised as free shipping with min. spend RM10. But you probably should not wait: 9.9 Super Shopping Day runs 26 August to 10 September 2026 with free shipping and no minimum spend at all, and a deals floor of RM9 against Payday's RM25.

Where the Payday Sale stands today

Shopee runs the Payday Sale around the 25th of every month, and it re-dates the same set of microsite pages each cycle rather than building new ones. Checked on 1 September 2026, those pages tell three different stories.

  • The hub, /m/PaydaySale, is still titled "Aug 25 Payday Sale 2026 | Free Shipping No Min. Spend". Its internal page name is "Aug 25 Payday Sale Thank You Page", and the body renders empty. The August edition is finished.
  • The calendar and coming-soon pages are already re-titled "September 25 Payday Sale 2026 | Free Shipping Min. Spend RM10". That is Shopee's own confirmation of both the next date and the next free-shipping threshold.
  • The artwork has not caught up. The coming-soon page renders nothing at all, and the calendar page still serves "NOV 25 PAYDAY SALE" banners next to a 12.12 Birthday Sale tile. Shopee re-dates its page titles months before it re-cuts its artwork.

The two deep links shoppers usually land on are worse. Both /m/PaydaySale-deals and /m/PaydaySale-vouchers still run the Jan 25 Payday Sale layout, down to a Chinese New Year livestream headline. Treat them as archives, not as this month's deals.

The mechanics Shopee is advertising for September

Shopee's own September description lists three:

  • Free shipping with a minimum spend of RM10
  • RM25 Deals — a collection of items priced RM25 and under
  • 10% Rebate Now

Two things have changed. First, August's free shipping carried no minimum spend at all; September's has an RM10 floor, so on that mechanic the sale has got slightly worse. Second, the 25% Shopee Coins cashback on prepaid reloads and bills that used to headline this sale is no longer in Shopee's mechanics list. "10% Rebate Now" has taken its slot.

A rebate is not cashback, and the difference matters

Shopee's Help Centre is explicit about this. Cashback vouchers pay you in Shopee Coins, which only offset a future order. Rebate vouchers, in Shopee's words, "allow you to enjoy a direct discount on your orders" — money off the basket in front of you.

So swapping a 25% Coins cashback for a 10% rebate is not the downgrade the percentages suggest. Ten per cent off today is worth more than twenty-five per cent in Coins you may never spend.

What Shopee has not published for September is the rebate's cap and minimum. The last time it spelled the voucher out, the terms were 10% off, capped at RM120, on a minimum spend of RM80, released daily through the campaign and valid only on items carrying the "10% Rebate Now" tag. Do not assume those numbers hold. Shopee removes each edition's terms page once the sale ends — the Help Centre article for its own Jun 25 Mid-Year Payday Sale 2026 now returns "article not exist". Read the cap printed on the voucher tile before you build a basket around it.

It is not one moment — it is three

The Payday Sale page is built around timed anchors rather than a single midnight drop. The recurring ones are 12AM Midnight Madness, 12PM Free Shipping Hours and 8PM Rebate Now Hours, sitting alongside a standing RM25 Knockout Deals rail and separate Payday Vouchers and Partners' Vouchers tabs. If you are only going to open the app once, open it at 8PM — that is when the rebate vouchers drop.

What is actually live right now: 9.9

In Shopee's own words, "Shopee's 9.9 Super Shopping Day Sale is back with faster delivery, earlier VIP access, bigger rewards, and more value than ever this 26 August to 10 September 2026". On the table:

  • Free shipping with no minimum spend
  • RM9 Knockout Deals — the floor is RM9, not RM25
  • VIP vouchers worth RM9,900, with a VIP early-access tier at RM999
  • Buy Today, Get Today — same-day delivery on tagged items
  • Shopee Lagi Murah: Shocking Sale, at 50% off

The RM9 Knockout Deals do not all drop at once. Shopee has scheduled them in hourly slots: 8PM, 9PM, 10PM and 11PM on 8 September, then 12AM and 9AM on 9 September.

Who should wait for 25 September, and who should not

Buy inside the 9.9 window if you are shopping small or in a hurry. A RM12 order ships free on 9.9 and does not on Payday. The cheapest tagged items are RM9 rather than RM25. And if you need the thing this week, Buy Today, Get Today has no Payday equivalent.

Wait for 25 September only if your basket is large and tagged. A capped 10% rebate is worth up to RM120 on one big order, which nothing in the 9.9 line-up matches for a shopper outside the VIP tiers. That is a single-basket play, not a browsing one.

Skip both if the item is not actually discounted. Shopee's campaign pages sort by campaign tag, not by price history. An item can carry a 9.9 badge and still cost exactly what it cost in August, so check the seller's own listing price before the badge convinces you.
