> Quick view: The Spring Shopping Mall Kuching's own October campaign, tHe Bright Side Project, runs 9-25 October 2026 and ends with its busiest weekend: the Wilson Pickleball Tournament on 24-25 October (RM60 per player) and the last days of tHe Furry, a pet programme on the 2nd Floor. A RM10 Pink It Up! pin sold until 31 October gets you a free pink-drink upsize at Auntea Jenny. Inside the mall, Kate Spade opens a Holiday Open Sale with up to 50% off selected styles from 22 October. The September offers this page used to track (HABIB gold, Columbia, the Tesla contest) have all ended.

tHe Bright Side Project, 9-25 October

The mall describes the project as pickleball, outdoor picnic nights, live music, food and fashion, plus month-long support for Breast Cancer Awareness, running at both The Spring Kuching and The Spring Bintulu. The anchor is tHe Arena, a new pickleball court at the Kuching mall. The Spring says the court is open for booking, but it does not publish a court rate or a booking link on its website: the "Court Now Open For Booking" card now redirects to the tournament page. Ask at tHe Concierge (+6082 238 222) for the hourly rate.

Wilson Pickleball Tournament, 24-25 October

  • Saturday 24 October: men's singles. Sunday 25 October: women's singles.
  • 10am-5pm at tHe Arena (South Court).
  • Entry RM60 per player, with 16 spots per category, so 32 players across the weekend.
  • Prizes: Wilson merchandise, vouchers "and more". No cash prize is listed.
  • Register through the Google Form linked from the event page. Questions go to the organiser, The Podium Project, on +6018 777 3757.

Wilson also opened a store in the mall at Lot G26, Ground Floor, so you can pick up a paddle before you play.

tHe Furry, until 25 October

tHe Furry is the pet-lovers' part of the project, run with JJ Pet Shop Kuching on the 2nd Floor. With the weekday workshops (19-22 October) done, these are the days still to come:

  • Friday 23 October: pet adoption drive 10am-10pm; Cat Pawty cake gathering at 7pm.
  • Saturday 24 October: pet adoption drive 10am-10pm; Zero To Hero Cat Contest 2pm; design-your-own tote bag workshop 6pm; quiz contest 8pm.
  • Sunday 25 October: kids' cat-themed fashion show 11am; funny cat video contest 2pm; grand-prize lucky draw announcement 7pm; closing ceremony 8.30pm.

The event page lists no fees for any of these. The Spring states a price on every paid event, so treat them as walk-in, but ask about workshop materials before you sit down.

Pink It Up! pin, until 31 October

Buy a Pink It Up! pin for RM10 at tHe Concierge. The money supports the Sarawak Breast Cancer Support Group (SBCSG) and the Society for Cancer Advocacy and Awareness Kuching (SCAN). Show the pin receipt at the Auntea Jenny kiosk for a free upsize on a pink drink, limited to one upsize per pin receipt. Auntea Jenny also says it will donate RM1 for every drink sold during the campaign. Pins are sold while stocks last.

Tenant offers inside the mall

  • Kate Spade New York, Ground Floor, Lot G14A: Holiday Open Sale, up to 50% off selected styles from 22 October 2026. No end date was posted, and "up to" means most pieces will be marked down by less than half. Check the tag.
  • Rituals: store-anniversary offers over two weekends, 23-25 October and 30 October-2 November. Rituals has not said what the offers are, so check in store before making a trip for it.
  • New stores to know: Salomon (Lot G58A, Ground Floor), Wilson (Lot G26, Ground Floor) and Cravyn (KG3, Ground Floor). None has a dated promotion.

Coming up: Little Reader's Club, 14 November

The monthly storytelling session moves to Saturday 14 November 2026, 2.00pm-3.30pm at The Play Hub, First Floor (between Daiso and Padini), on the theme "Food & Feasts". The fee is RM25 per child, covering crafts, a pre-loved book and tenant goodies, and Nando's is the tenant partner. It is hosted by the Sarawak Storytellers Association. Registration is at thespring.online/workshops/littlereaderclub, which opens a Springster login, so make the account first. Seats are limited.

What ended

  • HABIB's RM15/g off gold ended 20 September, Columbia's buy-2 extra 30% ended 30 September, and the Tesla Race Weekend Contest closed 27 September.
  • The 10 October Little Reader's Club ("Spooky & Strange") has passed.
  • The older Cascade of Luck (ended 2 August), Real Life Heroes (6 September) and Torabera ACG Fest 4.0 (11-13 September) are long finished.

Who this suits, and who should skip it

Go this weekend if you play pickleball and want a cheap competitive game (RM60 is the whole entry), you're thinking of adopting a pet (two full days of adoption drive on 23-24 October), or you have kids who would enjoy the cat fashion show on Sunday morning.

Skip it if you're after a mall-wide sale. Apart from Kate Spade, the shopping offers are small, and Rituals hasn't said what its offers are.
