> Quick view: The Spring Kuching's "Real Life Heroes" campaign closed on 6 September 2026, and so did the last piece of it that was still running — the Paw Safe Pet Fair. Two dated events replace it, both on the same weekend: Torabera ACG Fest 4.0 on the 1st and 2nd Floors, 11-13 September, with no admission fee published; and the Little Reader's Club: Legends & Origins on 12 September, at RM25 per child.

The two campaigns you probably came here for are both over

"Cascade of Luck" ended on 2 August 2026. The Spring's Malaysia Mega Sale activation — spend RM100 in-mall, get a lucky spin for a mystery prize through the mall's own web app — is gone, and there is still no spend-and-spin mechanic anywhere on the mall's site as of 6 September 2026.

"Real Life Heroes" ended on 6 September 2026. The Merdeka-season PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie programme ran 7 August to 6 September, and everything dated inside it has now passed: the Rover Scout Expo (15-16 Aug), A Dino-Mite Weekend (RM60 per child, 21-23 Aug), the PAW Patrol Kids Colouring Contest (29 Aug), the Chase & Rubble meet-and-greets (29-30 Aug), and the Paw Safe Pet Fair, which ran 27 August to 6 September and was the last piece standing. Nothing from that campaign is still bookable.

What's live now: Torabera ACG Fest 4.0, 11-13 September

Torabera is a Kuching-based animation, comic and game (ACG) organiser, and this is its fourth outing at The Spring. The mall's event page places the fest on the 1st and 2nd Floors across 11, 12 and 13 September 2026, built around pop-up booths, live performances, and hands-on workshops and challenges.

One thing to plan around. The mall dates the fest 11-13 September, but every scheduled item it publishes falls on 12 and 13 September only. Friday the 11th reads as booths and cosplay without a stage programme. If you are travelling in for a specific session, come on the Saturday or the Sunday.

What Torabera costs

The mall publishes no admission fee and no ticket link for Torabera, and that absence carries weight here. On the same site, in the same events section, The Spring states fees plainly when they exist: it listed "RM55/Child (Early bird)" and "RM60/Child (Normal Price)" with a booking button for the Dino-Mite Weekend, and it lists "RM25 per child" with a Register button for the Little Reader's Club. An event page with neither is the mall's usual shape for a walk-in.

Treat the workshop and challenge slots as first-come on the day — there is no registration link published for the sushi workshop, the Wasabi Challenge or the Xbox final. What you should budget for is the booths, which are traders selling merchandise, and food.

Little Reader's Club: Legends & Origins — 12 September, RM25

The mall's storytelling club returns on Saturday 12 September, 2.00pm to 3.30pm, at The Play Hub, First Floor (between Daiso and Padini). It is hosted by the Sarawak Storytellers Association on the theme of courage and finding inner peace, and mixes storytelling with hands-on crafts.

RM25 per child covers the crafts, a pre-loved book to take home, and goodies from the mall's tenant partner, Dotnuts. It is a CSR initiative run with Perbena Emas under a #literacyforall banner.

Register before you travel, and expect a sign-up wall. The mall's "Register here" button points at thespring.online — Springster, The Spring's own web app — and that link lands on a login screen, not a booking form. If you do not already have a Springster account, you have to create one first. Do that at home, not in the queue.

Both land on 12 September: how to fit them together

Saturday 12 September is the crowded one. The Torabera stage programme and the Little Reader's Club run the same afternoon on adjacent floors, so they collide — but not fatally. Build the day around the paid, pre-booked session and take the rest as it falls:

  • 10.30am-12.30pm — Sushi Making Workshop at Torabera, comfortably clear of the storytelling session
  • 1.30pm — Torabera opening ceremony, also clear
  • 2.00pm-3.30pm — Little Reader's Club at The Play Hub, First Floor, the one fixed commitment
  • 3.00pm — Wasabi Challenge, which you will miss
  • 3.30pm — Dance Performance, tight but reachable: storytelling ends at 3.30pm one floor below
  • 4.30pm — Open Stage Performances, comfortable

Sunday the 13th is simpler if Torabera is all you want: the Isekai Zero workshop at 1.00pm, Open Stage at 2.00pm and 3.30pm, and the Xbox gaming final and prize giving at 4.30pm, with the sushi workshop and the Wasabi Challenge repeating from Saturday.

Who this suits — and who should skip it

Go for Torabera if you have teens or anime-and-gaming-inclined kids and you are in Kuching over 11-13 September. It is the biggest ACG gathering the city gets, and on the mall's own published terms it costs nothing to walk into. Go for the Little Reader's Club instead if your child is younger and you want something structured — RM25 for 90 minutes plus a book to keep is fair for a Saturday afternoon, and it is the only one of the two you can actually reserve.

Skip both if you were chasing a discount. Neither is a sale, and there is no storewide mall promotion attached to either. The Spring runs its spend-based campaigns — seasonal redemption programmes, contests, ticket events and lucky draws — inside Springster, so any successor to Cascade of Luck will surface in the app before it appears anywhere else.

Fine print

  • The mall opens 10am to 10pm daily. Torabera's booths sit inside those hours, but the stage sessions are fixed-slot: a 4.30pm item means 4.30pm.
  • The Little Reader's Club is pre-booked, and its registration link requires a Springster account. Turning up unregistered is not the stated route in.
  • Last year's Torabera at The Spring, in September 2025, ran a six-QR mall hunt with instant-win scratch cards at a 2nd Floor booth. The Spring has published nothing like it for 4.0 — do not travel in expecting one.
  • The mall's fest page gives 1st and 2nd Floor for Torabera as a whole but does not say which floor each stage session is on. Check the on-site signage when you arrive.
  • The Spring is mid-renovation under its #reshapingspaces programme, so tenant positions move. Use the mall directory on arrival rather than where a shop was last visit.

Tips

  • Create the Springster account before 12 September if the Little Reader's Club is why you are going — the register link is a login wall, and the session runs only 90 minutes.
  • Friday 11 September is the quiet day: booths and cosplay without a stage schedule, which makes it the easiest of the three for browsing and buying from traders.
  • Torabera's own Facebook page publishes a booth preview ahead of the fest. That is the only place the trader line-up appears — the mall's event page lists sessions, not stalls.
