Pickleball has moved fast in Kuching. By October 2026 the city and its edges have at least eight venues with their own pickleball courts and live online booking, and the Bandar Kuching MP was talking up a local coaching scene in the Borneo Post in May. Prices have spread out too. The same hour can cost RM15 or RM70 depending on where you go and when.
We read every rate below on the venue's own booking channel on 27 October 2026: Pikabol's own website, the live price pop-ups on Courtsite (the page text there is sometimes out of date, so we used the pop-up), and the AFA rate card for Sentosa. All prices are per court per hour unless stated.
How to choose a court in Kuching
Decide when you play first, then where. Kuching venues price by time band, and the bands differ. Most charge their lowest rate on weekday daytimes and their highest from 4pm or 5pm, but Dink Zone does it the other way round: its cheap window is 12pm to 4pm, and mornings cost more. If you play after work, compare evening rates, not the headline price.
Big hall or small hall. Pikabol, PicklePro and Star have 12 to 16 courts each, which makes them the places for socials, leagues and walk-in partners. The community venues (MUSCS, Dewan Kasba, Dink Zone, Sentosa) have three or four courts, cost less, and fill up quickly at 8pm.
Check what is included. Paddle rental is published at only two venues. If you are bringing friends who have never played, MUSCS (RM4 a paddle) or Summer (RM12-14 with balls) are the easy options. MUSCS sells balls at RM10 each rather than renting them.
Read the cancellation rule before you pay. The Courtsite venues ask for 48 hours' notice to change a booking (MUSCS asks for 12) and do not refund. With the northeast monsoon starting this week, that matters more for getting there than for playing, since every court here has a roof.
Mind the side of the river. Kuching traffic over the bridges at 6pm can eat a third of a one-hour booking. Petra Jaya and Matang players are better served by MUSCS, Dewan Kasba or Dink Zone; Tabuan and Pending players by PicklePro or Pikabol; and Penrissen and Samarahan players by Sentosa or Summer.
Price comparison at a glance
The table below sets the weekday daytime, weekday evening and weekend rate side by side. Where a venue has more than two bands, we show the lowest and highest.
How to pick, in short
- Cheapest possible hour: Sentosa before 6pm on a weekday (RM15), or MUSCS before noon (RM20).
- Best for a group of eight or more: Pikabol or PicklePro, which can give you neighbouring courts at RM35-45.
- Best for beginners: MUSCS, for the RM4 paddle and the low daytime rate.
- Best late-night slot: Pikabol on a Friday or weekend (to midnight), Star or Dewan Kasba (to midnight daily).
- Most premium: Star's VIP courts, RM40-70 an hour.
Two notes for the coming weeks. Pikabol says its Zone B courts are closed from 8am to 5pm between 2 and 7 November 2026 for sprinkler work, reopening at 5pm each day. Star's promo prices have no published end date, so book them while they last and expect the normal rates (RM45-55, VIP RM60-70) eventually.
Kompleks Sukan Satok lists the lowest prices in the city (RM10 an hour in the day) but its social page had not posted since April 2026 when we checked, so we have left it out until it shows signs of life. Arena Sukan's booking portal was down on the day we checked.
