> Quick view: AVI Pangkor Beach Resort's Deepavali plan closed on 31 October. The same 10% off a Superior Room with breakfast for two now runs as Stay Longer 3D2N: book by 30 November 2026 and stay up to 21 December, minimum two nights. Prices move a lot by date. We read RM360 to RM684 for two nights on 6 November, taxes included. It is prepaid and cannot be refunded or changed.

What changed from the Deepavali plan
The discount is the same size and the terms read the same: 10% off, breakfast for two, Wi-Fi, two nights minimum, full prepayment, no refunds. Two things moved. You now have until 30 November to book instead of 31 October, and you can stay until 21 December instead of 8 November. The Deepavali rate no longer appears on the engine.
If you book after 30 November, or want to stay after 21 December, this plan does not apply. Christmas and New Year dates showed only the normal pay-later rates when we checked.
How to book it, step by step
- Open the resort's booking engine and enter two or more consecutive nights ending by 21 December 2026, for two adults.
- Look for the rate named "Stay Longer 3D2N & Save 10% - Superior Room (King) - With Breakfast". A Twin version is listed at the same price, although the written terms say King only, so ask the hotel if you specifically need two beds.
- Pay the full amount on the spot.
- Do this by 30 November 2026. The hotel also lists reservations on 03-2262 0288 (Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.30pm) and 05-685 4888.
What it costs on real dates
The table on this page shows what the engine charged on 6 November for two nights and two adults, labelled "includes taxes + fees". These are not fixed prices, and a date can sell out.
The cheapest dates we found: Sun 22 to Tue 24 November. The plan costs RM360, RM40 less than the RM400 pay-later rate with breakfast. Add the RM3 fee for two nights and a Malaysian couple pays RM366 in total. A foreign couple adds RM10 tourism tax per night, so RM386.
A weekend: Fri 20 to Sun 22 November. The plan costs RM531 against RM590, a saving of RM59. With the RM6 fee a Malaysian couple pays RM537.
Weekdays are not always cheap. Tue 10 to Thu 12 November costs RM684, more than any weekend on this plan. Inside one stay the rate can jump too: Tue 17 November is RM288 and Wed 18 November is RM180 on this plan. The engine gives no reason, so price your exact dates before you commit.
Is the discount worth giving up flexibility?
On every date we read, breakfast added RM60 to the two-night pay-later rate, which works out to RM15 per person per morning. So the prepaid plan only beats room-only when 10% off is worth more than RM60, which means a breakfast rate above RM600 for the two nights.
- Cheaper than room-only: 10-12 November (by RM16), 13-15 November (RM6) and 11-13 December (RM2). Here the prepaid plan gives you breakfast free.
- Slightly dearer than room-only: 20-22 November (RM1), 19-21 December (RM5), 17-19 November (RM8), 6-8 December (RM12) and 22-24 November (RM20). Here you are paying a small sum for breakfast and giving up the right to change your dates.
The pay-later rates carry their own charge. Their terms read "7 days before schedule arrival date - Full amount of the room charge will be imposed", which we take to mean a change or cancellation inside the last seven days costs the whole stay. Confirm that with the hotel if it matters to you.
Which room to pick
Superior rooms sleep three and list 23.6m². Deluxe rooms sleep four and list 32.1m², but they have no 10% plan. On the cheapest dates a Deluxe with breakfast costs RM520, RM160 more than the Superior plan. An extra bed costs RM100 on the pay-later rates and includes one breakfast, and the promo terms do not mention one.
The resort's website names the king room "Superior King Room with Sea View", while the engine lists the Twin as city view and names no view for the King. If the view matters, ask before you pay.
Who it suits, and who should skip it
Good for: couples with fixed dates in late November or early December, and anyone who would have paid for breakfast anyway.
Skip it if: your dates may move. A saving of RM40 is not worth losing RM360 to a missed ferry or a work call. Also skip it for Christmas, New Year, or a family of four who need a Deluxe.
The bill and the journey
Pangkor is one of Malaysia's designated areas, alongside Langkawi, Labuan and Tioman. Rooms supplied there carry no service tax, so you will not see the 8% line a mainland hotel adds. You do pay the RM3 state fee at the front desk. The promo terms list it for all guests. The pay-later terms list only the tourism tax, so budget for it either way.
You reach the island by ferry from Lumut. The most recent fare report we found is from 2022, when The Sun gave RM20 return for an adult, so check the current price at the jetty.
The fine print that trips people up
- Book by 30 November, stay by 21 December. Both dates apply.
- Minimum two consecutive nights. A one-night search does not show the plan.
- Not combinable with any other promotion, discount or offer.
- RM100 security deposit by cash or card at check-in, refunded after the room is inspected and any bills are settled.
- Check-in from 3pm, check-out by noon. Plan your ferry around that.
- The hotel may amend booking details, subject to availability and operations, and the plan is subject to room availability.
What we could not confirm
We did not compare these prices with Agoda or Booking.com, or call the hotel. Our 6 November search for that same weekend, 6 to 8 November, returned no rates, and we did not read the Deluxe rate for 13 to 15 November. The resort's offers page shows no dated offer for Pangkor, and we found no Christmas or New Year plan on the engine.
