> Quick view: Malaysians pay RM38 per adult and RM28 per child at Langkawi Nature Park until the end of December 2026, about 44% below the published RM68 and RM58. You get a 50-acre park with an 800m mangrove boardwalk and a small zoo. Bring your MyKad or MyKid.
Most Langkawi itineraries go straight to the cable car, the beaches and a Kilim boat tour. Langkawi Nature Park is a quieter stop on the same side of the island, inside the Kuala Kisap Forest Reserve off Jalan Ayer Hangat. It reopened on 22 December 2023 after the pandemic pause, and its current promotions page, revised 1 April 2026, sets out a local rate that is worth knowing before the year-end school holidays.
The rates, side by side
- Published daily pass: RM68 adult, RM58 child
- Walk-in promotion: RM48 adult, RM38 child
- MyKad / MyKid (to Dec 2026): RM38 adult, RM28 child
- Langkawi Resident's Annual Pass: RM150 adult, RM120 child
The MyKad line on the park's own rate table reads "EM38", which is a typo for RM38. The text above it is clear: MyKad and MyKid holders get "a further RM10 discount" on the walk-in rate through December 2026.
How it works
- Go during opening hours. The park opens 10am to 7pm on Fridays to Sundays and 12 noon to 7pm on Mondays to Thursdays. Last entry is 6pm every day.
- Show your MyKad or MyKid when you buy the ticket. Each card covers its holder only, so a family needs every member's card, including the children's MyKid.
- Pay for extras separately once inside (see below).
What your ticket covers
- The Mangrove Walk. This is the centrepiece. An elevated 800m boardwalk, completed in 2018, runs from the edge of the zoo section through a 35-acre mangrove forest to the park's jetty on the Kilim River. The park says a walk there and back takes about 45 minutes. Look out for mudskippers, crabs, kingfishers, sea eagles, macaques and, if you are lucky, leaf monkeys.
- The zoological section. It covers at least 15 acres and includes an aviary and the "Predator Castle". The park currently lists a family of jaguars, a pair of dingoes, several spotted hyenas and an ageing lion, plus alpacas and pygmy goats that children can feed.
- Open lawns and trails. Walking trails and the boardwalk add up to about 2km in total.
Extras that add up
- Bicycle rental: RM20 per 15 minutes for adults, RM15 for children
- Feed packs: from RM10 per pack, RM20 for the hyenas
- Souvenir photography: from RM50
- Guided walk: add RM20 per person, or RM250 per group
- Boat tour plus park: price on request
There is also a Scarborough Fish & Chips counter on site if you are staying through lunch.
Worked examples
- Family of four, all Malaysian. Two adults at RM38 and two children at RM28 come to RM132. The same family pays RM172 at the walk-in rate and RM252 at the published rate, so the MyKad discount saves RM40 on the walk-in price.
- Same family, with extras. Add one hyena feed pack (RM20), one goat feed pack (RM10) and 15 minutes on two adult bikes (RM40), and the afternoon totals RM202.
- Mixed group. A Malaysian couple travelling with a non-Malaysian friend pays RM38 + RM38 + RM48 = RM124, since the friend can still take the RM48 walk-in rate.
- Langkawi residents. The RM150 adult annual pass pays for itself on the fourth visit at the RM38 MyKad rate. The RM120 child pass needs five visits.
Who it suits, and who should skip
Good for: families with primary-school children, birdwatchers and anyone who wants a slow mangrove walk without booking a boat. It also works as a half-day stop between Kilim and the Ayer Hangat side of the island.
Skip it if: you expect a full-scale zoo. The park itself says its zoo is "rebooting in phases", some former exhibits (such as the chimpanzee and elephant areas) have been repurposed, and it acts as a retirement home for aged animals. The mangrove boardwalk is the real draw.
Fine print that trips people up
- "Various channels" is not defined. The page does not say whether the RM10 MyKad discount applies at the gate, online or only through partners. Call the park on +60 12-904 9200 if you are planning around the price.
- Weekend mornings. The promotions page says weekend hours start at 10am, but the older mangrove page still lists the boardwalk as open from 12 noon. If you plan an early visit, check that the boardwalk is open before you go in.
- The annual pass price is unclear. The table shows RM150 for adults and RM120 for children, while the text beside it calls it RM120 "per adult or child". The homepage still advertises a RM120 pass for July to December 2025. Ask before you sign up.
- Annual passes are personal. They are non-transferable and admit one person only.
- Cycling on the boardwalk depends on how busy the park is.
All prices above were read on the Langkawi Nature Park promotions page on 7 November 2026. Park details are from the official Langkawi Nature Park website.
