A men's haircut in the Klang Valley can cost RM25 or RM155, and the difference is not only the barber's skill. It is what comes with the cut (a wash, a hot towel, a head massage), whether you can book, and how long the chair is yours. We read the published price lists of eight barbershops on 12 October 2026: their own websites, their own posted price boards, or the Fresha booking pages they send customers to. All eight were showing as open on Google Maps the same day.

Prices below are for a standard adult cut unless we say otherwise. None of the eight was running a dated promotion on its own channels when we checked.

How to read a barbershop price list

Find out what the base price covers. Joe's RM25 and Crosscut's RM35 are cuts without a wash. The Barber Bus (RM65) and Rusty Blades (RM140) include one, and Truefitt & Hill's RM155 adds a head massage and finish. Compare like with like: a RM35 cut plus a RM20 wash is not much cheaper than a RM60 cut that includes everything.

Booking can cost money. Nimroc's own price page lists a RM10 booking fee on every online appointment, so its RM35 cut becomes RM45 if you reserve. Joe's takes walk-ins only. The craft barbers work by appointment through Fresha and fill up on weekends.

Ask for the price before the clippers start. In 2023, tourists in Bukit Bintang were reportedly charged RM120 for a cut at a shop advertising "from RM19", and the Domestic Trade Ministry (KPDN) said it would investigate. Every shop on this list posts a full menu, which is the easiest protection.

Kids' and seniors' prices vary more than adults'. A child's cut runs from RM30 at Nimroc to RM90 at Truefitt & Hill, and The Barber Bus sells a senior package. Joe's and Underrated publish no kids' price.

Joe's Barbershop: the RM25 neighbourhood cut

Joe's price board, which its website still links, reads: haircut RM25, razor fade RM40, long scissor trim RM40, ladies' cut RM45, shave RM15, beard trim RM10, and a wash for RM20 at selected outlets. It also says changes to a finished cut cost extra, so be specific at the start. Outlets open 11am to 9.30pm daily, and from 3pm on Fridays.

Nimroc and Crosscut: RM35 with more polish

Nimroc runs 21 Klang Valley outlets, from Bangsar's Jalan Telawi and TTDI to AEON Mall Shah Alam and Elmina Lakeside. Its ladder is clear: RM35 cut, RM45 with a wash, RM60 with wash and beard trim, RM65 with a straight-razor shave. Crosscut is a single shop on Jalan Kampung Pandan with a RM35 dry cut, RM40 with a wash, and a RM25 hot towel shave.

The craft barbers: RM60 to RM65

The Mankind Barber in TTDI charges RM60 for a cut, RM85 with a wash or beard trim and RM95 with a shave. Its Fresha page shows a 4.9 rating from 687 reviews. Underrated KL off Jalan Pudu starts at RM60 and is known for perms and dreadlocks as much as fades. The Barber Bus at Arcoris Mont Kiara charges RM65 with a wash and closes on Mondays.

The premium end: RM140 to RM155

Rusty Blades, inside Apollo Men's Wellness at Starhill, prices a cut with wash and blow-dry at RM140 and a hot towel shave at RM100. Truefitt & Hill, the London barber with branches at Bangsar Shopping Centre, Suria KLCC and The Exchange TRX, has no cut-only option: the Royal Haircut is RM155 with a head massage, shampoo and finish. If you want something in between, Somar James in Solaris Mont Kiara lists a classic scissor cut at RM100 on its own menu.

How to pick

  • Just a tidy-up every three weeks: Joe's or Nimroc. At RM25 to RM35, a monthly cut costs RM300 to RM420 a year.
  • A specific fade or a style you want to keep: book a named barber at Mankind, Underrated or The Barber Bus, and bring a photo.
  • Perms, colour or locs: Underrated, which lists perms from RM250.
  • A gift, a wedding or a long shave: Truefitt & Hill or Rusty Blades, where the shave is the point.
  • Kids: Nimroc (RM30) or The Barber Bus (RM35, under 7) are the cheapest published children's prices here.
