Why Kuching Needed Its Own List

Every "best digital marketing agency in Malaysia" roundup tends to get written from a Klang Valley desk, and most of the names on it have never set foot east of the South China Sea. That's fine if your business is in KL — but if you run an SME, a property launch, or an F&B outlet in Kuching, "we serve clients nationwide" from a Bangsar office is not the same as a team that can walk into your shop, shoot your product photos, and sit across the table when a campaign underperforms.

This is the first time we've broken our national "Best Digital Marketing & Web Design Agencies" list (see our Malaysia-wide edition covering Primal, LOCUS-T, SEO.MY, Rankpage, MYSense, Rebrand and Statice Marketing) out into a standalone city edition — and we started with Kuching, Sarawak, because it has a genuinely dense cluster of homegrown agencies that predate the current wave of "Malaysia-wide" digital marketing SEO blogspam.

We only kept agencies we could verify have a real, staffed Kuching address, or an explicitly Kuching-based operation confirmed on their own website or official social page — not just a landing page keyword-stuffed with the word "Kuching." Several well-marketed names that showed up in our research got cut for exactly that reason; see What We Left Out below.

The List

1. Blackstone Consultancy — Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce Blackstone is one of the longer-running names in Kuching's digital scene, built on more than a decade of digital strategy work before pivoting into AI-assisted execution. It offers a full suite — SEO, web design, social media marketing, paid ads (Google and Meta), content marketing and analytics — from an office at Lot 1905, Block 10, Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce, Kuching. Good fit for businesses that want one team handling strategy end-to-end rather than piecing together freelancers.

2. Karuna (Sarawak) Enterprise Sdn Bhd — Jalan Tun Jugah Karuna has been designing websites out of Kuching since 2009, making it one of the oldest continuously operating web agencies in the state, and has picked up Malaysia Website Award recognition along the way. Services span web design and development, e-commerce sites, SEO and digital/online marketing, run from its office on the 3rd floor, Lot 10210, Jalan Tun Jugah. Its long client history makes it a safe default for businesses that want a local agency that isn't going anywhere.

3. The Bright Folks — Tenth Square A younger, social-first shop based at Tenth Square on Jalan Tan Sri Datuk Amar Wee Boon Ping, The Bright Folks leans into SEO, social media management, paid advertising, product photography and web design as a bundle. It reads as the go-to pick for F&B, retail and lifestyle brands that need content and ads moving together rather than treated as separate line items.

4. Techlaju Sdn Bhd — iCOM Square Techlaju is a web design and development specialist working out of Level 2, Block C, iCOM Square — Kuching's dedicated ICT business park. It's a by-appointment studio (no walk-ins), which tracks with a team that's more focused on building than front-of-house sales. Best suited to businesses that already know they need a proper custom website or web app, not just a template refresh.

5. JK Web Solutions (JK Design) — Kuching Citymall Commercial Centre Operating since 2013 from the 1st floor of Kuching Citymall Commercial Centre, JK Web Solutions covers website design alongside SEO, Google/Bing Ads and social ads on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. It's a straightforward, no-frills option for SMEs that want search visibility and paid ads handled by the same people who built the site.

6. MADE it Media Sdn Bhd — Canaan Square, Jalan Stutong Baru A creative-first agency at Canaan Square on Jalan Stutong Baru, MADE it Media covers branding, social media content and management, campaign planning, illustration, and photography/videography — with a notable specialisation in property developer marketing, a category that matters a lot in a city with an active property scene. Worth a look if your priority is polished visual content over pure performance-marketing metrics.

7. MicroWeb — Pending Industrial Estate Running since 2012 out of Pending Industrial Estate, MicroWeb is the technical end of the spectrum — web design, Drupal development, app design and Google Ads, built on modern stacks like Astro, React and Tailwind. It has handled long-running builds for Sarawak clients (including a Drupal deployment for Sri Datai Holdings still in service from 2013), which signals an agency comfortable with maintaining a site for years, not just shipping and disappearing.

8. Klik Company — Kuching A boutique, branding-first outfit, Klik Company focuses on brand positioning and social media management and content strategy across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn and YouTube. It's a smaller operation than the others on this list — reach them via Facebook/Instagram rather than a big corporate site — best suited to brands that want a tight, opinionated creative partner rather than a full-stack performance-marketing team.

What We Left Out

Not every agency that shows up ranking itself for "Kuching digital marketing" actually has a Kuching office. Three we checked and dropped:

  • KS Global markets itself as a top Kuching, Sarawak web design pick, but the only registered address we could verify is Suite 33-01, Menara Keck Seng, Bukit Bintang — Kuala Lumpur, not Kuching. No separate Sarawak branch address turned up anywhere.
  • DGSOL Marketing runs a "Facebook Marketing Agency in Kuching" landing page, but its registered office traces to Bandar Sg Long, Puchong, Selangor. It appears to run Kuching-targeted SEO pages without a staffed local branch.
  • peetpeet describes itself as a Sarawak-based full-stack digital marketing agency and turns up in several Kuching agency roundups, but across multiple checks we could not verify a specific, current Kuching office address on its own site or social pages — so we left it off rather than guess.

Two more that came up in searches — Envicion Studio and Operion — are genuine agencies that actively market "Sarawak" and "Kuching" service pages, but both are headquartered elsewhere (Petaling Jaya and Butterworth respectively) and serve Kuching remotely rather than from a local office, so they didn't make the cut either.

Pricing & What to Expect

None of the eight agencies above publish fixed package prices on their own websites at the time of writing, and we're not going to invent numbers — that's standard for B2B service agencies in Malaysia, where scope (site complexity, ad spend, retainer length) drives cost more than a flat rate would. Expect an initial consultation and a custom quote rather than an "off-the-shelf" price list. We also didn't find any live, dated promo codes or discounts on any of these agencies' own sites or social pages during this research pass — if you spot one, it's worth asking directly whether it still applies, since B2B agency promos tend to be quietly time-limited or client-specific.

A few practical notes: several of these studios (Techlaju in particular) work strictly by appointment, so call or message ahead rather than dropping by. If you're comparing a Kuching agency against a KL one for a Sarawak-focused campaign, ask directly whether the team you'll be working with is actually based here — as this list shows, that's not a given even when the marketing copy says so.
