> Quick view: from 2 to 9 November 2026, every Blue Ice Skating Rink outlet gives you one free ice skating ticket when you buy two. A ticket is normally RM40 for a 2-hour session with skates included, so a group of three pays RM80 instead of RM120. It runs at all five rinks, from Pavilion Bukit Jalil to Paradigm Mall in Johor Bahru, and it lands right on the Deepavali long weekend.

Blue Ice is the operator behind most of the real-ice rinks in Klang Valley malls, plus the big one at Paradigm Mall JB. It announced the Deepavali Deal on its Facebook page on 31 October, with a terms poster listing the dates and all five outlets. We checked the regular prices, session times and outlet addresses on blueiceskatingrink.com on 1 November.
Blue Ice rarely discounts its walk-in tickets, and its prices are the same on weekdays, weekends, public holidays and school holidays. That makes a flat one-in-three discount during a holiday week more useful than it sounds, especially if you were going to bring the kids or a group of friends anyway.
How it works, step by step
- Pick an outlet and a session. Every rink runs five 2-hour public sessions a day: 10am-12pm, 12.30-2.30pm, 3-5pm, 5.30-7.30pm and 8-10pm, with a 30-minute ice resurfacing break between each.
- Buy two ice skating tickets at the counter. The poster says the free ticket comes "when purchase 2 Ice Skating Tickets", so think in groups of three.
- Sort out socks and gloves. Both are compulsory on the ice. Bring your own or buy them at the counter for RM7 a pair each.
- Arrive early on the holiday dates. Blue Ice uses session-based entry to cap the number of skaters, and the terms say the deal is subject to availability.
Regular prices you are discounting from
Prices are per 2-hour session and the same for adults and children:
- Ice Skating entry: RM40 (skate shoes included)
- Solo Skater Pack (skating + Snow Park, Pavilion Bukit Jalil only): RM45
- Cozy Glider Pack (skating + BIGloves): RM50
- Bobby's Friend Pack (skating + gloves + Bobby skating aid): RM90
- Tank Mode Pack (all of the above + protection gear): RM99
- Snow Park only: RM60 (Pavilion Bukit Jalil)
- Visitor pass for non-skaters: RM10
The free ticket is described as an ice skating ticket. Whether the bundled packs also qualify is not stated, so ask at the counter before you pay for a pack.
Worked examples
- Three friends, own socks and gloves. Three tickets would cost RM120. With the deal you pay RM80 and save RM40.
- Three friends, nothing brought. Add RM14 per person for socks and gloves (RM42). The bill becomes RM122 instead of RM162.
- A family of six. Two free tickets: you pay for four, RM160 instead of RM240, before socks and gloves.
- A group of four. The fourth person pays full price, so it is RM120 for four (RM30 each on average). Bring a fifth and sixth friend if you can, because the sixth skates free.
Which rink to go to
- Pavilion Bukit Jalil (Level 5): about 10,000 sq ft of ice with a skating tunnel, plus the only Blue Ice Snow Park, open 10am-10pm daily.
- KL East Mall (Ground Floor 1, Kuala Lumpur Timur): a 30m x 15m rink.
- Sunway 163 Mall (Level 3, Mont Kiara): the smallest at 24m x 12m, good for beginners and kids.
- Coalfield Retail Park (Ground Floor, Sungai Buloh): 32m x 15m, built with first-timers in mind.
- Paradigm Mall Johor Bahru (Level 3, Skudai): the largest at 45m x 25m and the only real ice rink in southern Malaysia, which makes it the pick for JB families over the long weekend.
Who it suits, and who should skip it
It suits groups of three or six, families looking for an air-conditioned outing during the Deepavali break, and friends who have been meaning to try skating. Skip it if you skate alone or in a pair, because you get nothing back unless a third person joins. Blue Ice also recommends lessons from about age five, so toddlers may spend more time holding the railing than skating.
The fine print that trips people up
- No stacking. The deal cannot be used with any other discount or offer at the outlet.
- Socks and gloves are not free. They are compulsory and sold separately, RM7 a pair each.
- Session caps. Popular holiday sessions can fill up, and the terms say the promotion may end without prior notice.
- Ice may be cordoned off for events or coaching without notice, which can shrink the public skating area.
- Online tickets. The poster does not say whether the free ticket applies to tickets bought on Blue Ice's online portal, so buy at the counter if you want to be sure.
- Open to everyone. The terms say it applies to both Malaysians and foreigners.
