What the opening promotion was — and why it's over

CARiNG Pharmacy opened its Boulevard Commercial Centre outlet in Miri on 20 June 2026 and ran an opening celebration through 31 July 2026. The perks were:

  • An RM5 coupon for customers during the celebration period, with no minimum spend published
  • Triple CARiNG points on purchases for the full window
  • Mystery gifts, explicitly while stocks last
  • A review-and-get-rewarded element for customers who left feedback
  • Free ice cream, limited to the opening weekend of 20–21 June 2026

All of it has now lapsed. If you arrived here from an older link, there is no RM5 coupon or triple-points multiplier to claim at this branch any more.

What CARiNG is running right now (late September 2026)

The Merdeka campaigns this page used to list — Merdeka Mega Deals, Buy 2nd at 69% off and the suitcase playset — ended on 1 September 2026. CARiNG's promotions page, checked on 22 September 2026, lists these as current nationwide:

  • Cheaper & Lower catalogue, 24–28 September 2026. A five-day price-cut catalogue across health and beauty. Prices from CARiNG's own catalogue: Omron HEM-7180-AP upper-arm blood pressure monitor RM139.00; Accu-Chek Guide test strips (100s) RM138.00; Tiger Balm Plus/White 30g RM11.50; Friso Gold Step 3 (3×400g) RM105.90; Nutren Optimum 800g + cereal 400g value pack RM122.90 (normally RM137.90). Blackmores adds an extra RM10 coupon on RM120 of Blackmores in one receipt, Kordel's the same on RM100, and selected beauty lines (Biore UV Aqua Rich SPF50 50g, Eucerin Spotless Brightening, Body Buddy aloe cleanser) are 30–40% off.
  • Free Green Blender Set (a toy kitchen set, worth RM120), 1 August – 30 September 2026. Buy a set number of one growing-up formula within the window and redeem the gift. You collect the purchases as eStamps in the CARiNG app, so register in the app before the first tin. Quantities on CARiNG's list include 4 units of Friso Gold Step 3/4 (3×400g), Snow Neo Kid Plus 900g, Similac Total Comfort 820g or Enfagrow A+ Mindpro Step 3 1.16kg; 5 units of PediaSure 10+ 800g or Nutren Junior 800g; and 8 units of Morinaga Chil-Kid Step 3/4 700g.
  • Exclusive Member Rewards, until 31 December 2026. Partner perks you redeem by showing the voucher page in the CARiNG app. The one that works in Miri is 15% off Starbucks food and handcrafted drinks with a minimum RM30 spend, valid at all Starbucks stores in Malaysia but not on merchandise, bottled drinks, whole bean or delivery. The rest — Malaya Optical's free eye examination, Vanilla Crepe 10% off, Farm In The City 40% off, GL Play 15% off with code CARING15 — are Klang Valley venues.
  • Track & Win, monthly. Check in 7 times a month in the app for 300 CARiNG points (RM1.50), and any in-store receipt of RM30 or more enters that month's prize draw.

You'll also see an AirAsia Boarding Pass Privilege on the same page. Skip it: it's for non-Malaysian passport holders only, at selected Georgetown and Wellings Pharmacy stores in Penang.

A worked example for this week. A Silver member who buys four packs of Friso Gold Step 3 during the Cheaper & Lower window pays 4 × RM105.90 = RM423.60, qualifies for the RM120 blender set, and earns 423 points — about RM2.10 back. If it's also their birthday month, the 2x birthday bonus adds 846 points, roughly another RM4.20.

What CARiNG points are actually worth

This is the part most opening-promo coverage skips. Under CARiNG's member terms effective 1 January 2026:

  • 200 CARiNG points redeem for RM1 off your bill
  • Silver members earn 1 point per RM1, Gold 1.5 points, Platinum 2 points
  • Gold requires RM8,000 of spending within 12 months; Platinum requires RM20,000
  • Points are valid 12 months from the date they're credited and expire at the end of that calendar month
  • Birthday month adds a 2x bonus on top of base and tier points — 3x in total at Silver, 3.5x at Gold, 4x at Platinum. The bonus is capped at 1,000 birthday points (RM5); base and tier points keep coming after the cap
  • Birthday voucher pack: on the 1st of your birthday month the app issues an RM200+ pack of brand vouchers (RM3–RM8 each, e.g. Ensure, Life Factor) with no minimum spend, usable that month only
  • Up to 75,000 points can be redeemed on one receipt

Worked through: a Silver member spending RM100 earns 100 points, or 50 sen. Spending RM1,000 across a year returns RM5. Even at Platinum — which takes RM20,000 of annual spending to reach — RM1,000 of purchases returns RM10. Base points are a rounding error, not a reason to choose one pharmacy over another.

The multipliers are where it changes. The now-expired triple-points offer turned a RM300 stock-up into 900 points (RM4.50) instead of 300 (RM1.50). A birthday-month visit does something similar. Because the birthday bonus is 2 points per RM1 at every tier, you reach the 1,000-point cap at RM500 of spending in that month.

Who this suits — and who should skip it

Worth joining if you're in Miri and buy supplements, infant formula or chronic-medication refills regularly. Membership is free for life, the app carries the coupons that actually move the needle, and one membership covers CARiNG, Georgetown Pharmacy and Wellings Pharmacy plus the eStore.

Skip the loyalty maths if you're making a one-off purchase. Fifty sen back on RM100 will not beat a competitor's shelf price, and comparing the actual promotional price on the item you need is worth more than any points calculation.

Fine print worth checking

  • Catalogue offers are while stocks last. The Cheaper & Lower fine print excludes The Healthcare Shop by CARiNG, the KLIA2 and Genting First World Hotel outlets and the eStore. A Miri branch is covered, but it may not carry every line, so call 012-283 5707 for anything specific.
  • The blender set counts eStamps in the app. Purchases made before you register, or without showing your membership at the till, don't count.
  • Points expire 12 months after they're credited, at month-end. Long-dormant balances quietly disappear.
  • Tier thresholds are assessed on a rolling 12-month spend, so Gold and Platinum status must be re-earned.
  • The birthday bonus is capped at 1,000 points at every tier, reached at RM500 of spending. After that you earn at your normal rate. Your date of birth must be in your account at least 7 days before your birthday month.
