> Quick view: CompAsia, the Malaysian seller of certified second-hand phones, is running its 10.10 Tech Fest from 1 to 10 October 2026 on compasia.my. Phones, tablets, watches and laptops are discounted automatically at checkout, capped at RM500 per transaction. On 10 October only, devices priced RM2,000 and above get a further RM100 off. How the sale works

CompAsia sells used devices that it tests and grades itself. Its FAQ says every "Certified Second-Hand" device goes through a 32-step quality check, and the campaign listings carry a free 12-month warranty against hardware defects (not drops or water damage).

The official terms for the Tech Fest set out the mechanics:

  1. Pick an eligible device. The promo covers smartphones, tablets, watches and laptops only. Accessories on their own do not count.
  2. Choose capacity, colour and grade. Each phone comes in Excellent (very light signs of use) or Fair (noticeable cosmetic wear, fully working). Fair is cheaper.
  3. Let checkout apply the discount. The terms list a TECH1010 discount of up to 25% capped at RM500, but also say no code is needed and only one promotional discount applies per transaction.
  4. On 10 October, look for the extra RM100. The OCT100 bonus applies per product with a minimum of RM2,000. The terms cap the total discount at RM600 per transaction.
  5. Collect your mystery gift. It ships with eligible orders while stocks last, and cannot be exchanged.

What it costs: worked examples

Prices below were read on CompAsia's product pages on 1 October 2026. Each page shows a regular price and a discounted price already. On the iPhone 13 that works out to 8% off. On the iPhone 15, 16 and 17 it works out to 8% off and then a further RM120 off.

  • iPhone 13, 128GB, Fair: RM1,249 down to RM1,149.08. The cheapest way into Face ID and a recent iOS phone on the page, after the iPhone 12 (RM808.68).
  • iPhone 15, 128GB, Fair: RM2,139 down to RM1,847.88, a saving of RM291.12. The Excellent grade is RM1,949.08, so paying RM101.20 more buys a cleaner body.
  • iPhone 16, 128GB, Fair: RM2,659 down to RM2,326.28. Because it is above RM2,000, buying it on 10 October should qualify for the OCT100 bonus as well.
  • iPhone 17, 256GB, Fair: RM3,289 down to RM2,905.88, a saving of RM383.12.

Instalments are shown on each listing (the iPhone 15 above shows 4 x RM462 or 6 x RM308), and the FAQ lists cards, FPX, GrabPay, Grab PayLater, SPayLater, Touch 'n Go eWallet and ShopeePay.

Who it suits, and who should skip it

It suits anyone replacing a cracked or slow phone who does not need the newest model, students on a budget, and parents buying a first phone for a teenager. The iPhone 13 and 15 are the sweet spot: recent enough for years of iOS updates, and well under the RM2,000 line.

Skip it if you want a sealed box and full Apple warranty, or if you care about scuffs (avoid Fair). If you planned to buy a phone above RM2,000, the best day is 10 October, when the RM100 bonus kicks in.

Fine print that trips people up

  • No original box. The FAQ says each phone ships with a USB cable only. The box and other accessories are not included unless stated.
  • Battery health guarantee is iPhone-only. CompAsia validates 100% battery health at its check and guarantees at least 90% on arrival, but only for the iPhone X to 15 series. Report anything at 89% or lower within 48 hours of delivery, or the device is accepted as it is.
  • Returns can claw back the discount. If you return or cancel an item, the discount may be forfeited and the refund adjusted.
  • No stacking. The promo cannot be combined with other vouchers, cashback or member campaigns.
  • Delivery takes time. Standard device orders take up to 7 calendar days after the tracking number; express takes 2 working days. Order early if you need it before a trip.
  • While stocks last. Grades and colours sell out unevenly, and CompAsia may amend or end the campaign without notice.
