No replacement campaign page has gone up. The Galaxy S25 Ultra 12GB/512GB is back to RM6,099, but the deepest Samsung discount on the site right now is actually bigger than anything the Merdeka Sale offered: the Galaxy S24+ 5G at RM3,199, down RM1,700. Prices below were read off DirectD's own product pages on 3 September 2026.

The campaign is over, and there is no successor

This article originally covered DirectD's Merdeka Sale 2026, which ran 3 August to 1 September 2026. That window has closed, and DirectD has removed the campaign entirely: requesting directd.com.my/merdeka-sale returns a redirect to /page-not-found. So do the obvious successor URLs — there is no /malaysia-day-sale, no /september-sale, no /9-9-sale and no /promotions index. DirectD's homepage banner on 3 September is an iPhone 17 Pro promotion, not a Samsung one.

That matters because the aggregator write-ups of this sale are still circulating with the old RM4,999 headline attached. The prices are no longer live, and there is no campaign page you can point a salesperson at.

What DirectD does still have is per-model discounting on the ordinary product pages — the strikethrough prices on directd.com.my/samsung. That is where the real September deals are, and some of them are better than the Merdeka ones were.

What each Merdeka price actually became

Three things happened to the thirteen Samsung prices this article used to list, and they are worth separating because the pattern is not "everything went back up".

Seven reverted. The two S25 Ultra configurations lost the whole discount — RM4,999 became RM6,099 and RM4,499 became RM5,499, exactly the "normal price" figures DirectD published during the campaign. The four budget A-series models (A07 4G, A07 5G, A17 4G, A17 5G) all went back to list too, so the RM50–RM150 savings on those are gone.

Four partly reverted or held. The Galaxy S25 12GB/512GB sits at RM4,599 rather than the RM4,799 list price, so a RM200 discount remains where a RM800 one used to be. The S25+ 512GB is RM5,099 against a RM5,199 list — RM100 left of a RM600 cut. Both S26 Ultra configurations are unchanged at RM5,499 and RM5,899; those were never really discounts, they are just what DirectD charges.

Two were kept outright, and this is the useful find. The Galaxy A57 5G 12GB/256GB is still RM1,799 — but it now shows with no strikethrough at all, which means DirectD reset the list price rather than extending a promotion. The RM2,399 "normal price" quoted in August has quietly disappeared. The Galaxy A37 5G 12GB/256GB is still RM1,699 against a RM1,999 list, and it is still tagged as a discount, so that one is a genuine promotion that outlived its campaign.

The Samsung deals DirectD is actually running now

These are the live strikethrough prices on directd.com.my as at 3 September 2026, best-value first:

  • Galaxy S24+ 5G 12GB/256GB — RM3,199, down from RM4,899. Save RM1,700, the deepest Samsung cut on the site. The 12GB/512GB version is RM3,699.
  • Galaxy S26+ 12GB/512GB — RM5,199, down from RM6,199. Save RM1,000 on a current-generation flagship. DirectD stocks the 512GB only.
  • Galaxy Z Flip7 12GB/512GB — RM4,799, down from RM5,799. Save RM1,000.
  • Galaxy Z Flip5 — RM3,899, down from RM4,999. Save RM1,100.

Worked examples: is September actually worse?

If you wanted an S25 Ultra: yes, badly. You are paying RM6,099 for the 512GB where a Merdeka buyer paid RM4,999. There is no discount on it at all now, and the S26 Ultra 512GB is RM5,899 — RM200 *less* than the older phone. On DirectD's current pricing there is no rational reason to buy an S25 Ultra over an S26 Ultra.

If you wanted a big-screen flagship under RM3,500: you are better off now. The Galaxy S24+ 5G at RM3,199 did not appear in the Merdeka line-up at that price. Against the Merdeka Sale's cheapest large flagship — the S25 12GB/512GB at RM3,999 — the S24+ is RM800 cheaper today.

If you wanted a mid-range 5G phone: roughly a wash, but the winner moved. In August the pick was the A57 5G at RM1,799 (RM600 off). It is still RM1,799, but the A54 5G at RM1,299 is now RM500 cheaper for a phone with the same 8GB/256GB memory tier. The A57 is the newer chip; the A54 is the better ringgit.

If you wanted a foldable: September wins outright. Nothing in the Merdeka Samsung line-up was a foldable, and the Z Flip7 at RM4,799 is RM1,000 off.

The fine print changed too — in your favour

The single most restrictive term of the Merdeka Sale was the payment carve-out: promo-priced devices could only be bought with cash, AE QR Pay, online bank transfer, debit card or a one-time credit-card payment. Credit Card EPP, Grab PayLater, Atome, SPayLater, AhaPay, AEON, JCL and SNBL financing were all excluded, which pushed a RM4,999 phone entirely onto outright buyers.

With the campaign closed, DirectD's standard payment page is back in force. It lists online card and FPX payment via iPay88, GrabPay including PayLater, offline bank transfer or cash deposit, instalment plans with a credit card, and instalment plans without a credit card. DirectD also runs a separate no-credit-card financing arm at pakaidulu.directd.com.my and bnpl.directd.com.my.

One caveat worth reading before you plan around it: DirectD's own payment page states that GrabPay is limited to carts under RM1,000 and "might not be available / successful for promotion / on sale items". So on the S24+ at RM3,199 or the Z Flip7 at RM4,799, GrabPay is out on the cart limit alone — confirm the instalment route with the outlet before you commit.

Where to buy

DirectD trades from 20 listed stores, 19 of them currently open — the Bandar Sri Permaisuri branch in Cheras is closed for relocation. All stores open daily 10am–10pm, except Senawang and Kota Tinggi which close at 9pm.

Who should buy now, and who should wait

Buy now if you want the Galaxy S24+ 5G, the S26+, a Z Flip7 or an A54 5G. Those four are the only Samsung models where DirectD's September price is meaningfully better than its August one, and the S24+ discount in particular is larger than anything the Merdeka Sale ran.

Wait if you want an S25 Ultra, an S25 or any of the A07/A17 budget models. All of those are more expensive today than they were a week ago, and Malaysian electronics retail has a reliable rhythm of campaigns — Malaysia Day, then 9.9, 10.10 and 11.11. DirectD ran a Merdeka campaign in August; something will follow.

Check stock rather than price if you are buying a Z Flip5, Z Flip3 or Watch Active 2. Those are end-of-life discounts on discontinued models, which usually means limited colours and no restock.

Fine print

  • All prices verified on DirectD's own product pages on 3 September 2026. DirectD changes strikethrough pricing without notice.
  • Storage upgrades are priced as add-ons at checkout, not as separate listings: S26 Ultra 512GB is +RM400 and 1TB is +RM2,500 over the RM5,499 base; S25 Ultra 512GB is +RM600; A57 5G 512GB is +RM600; S24+ 512GB is +RM500.
  • The Merdeka Sale's "no free gifts on promo items" clause applied to that campaign only. Current product pages list paid add-ons (screen protection from RM39, cases, chargers) rather than bundled gifts.
  • Apple products at DirectD are sold through a separate platform, apple.directd.com.my.
  • Warranty on Samsung phones is 1 year by Samsung Malaysia Electronics.
