> Quick view: on 10 October 2026 only, members of the free Insiders Club programme can book Damai Beach Resort from RM180+ and Damai Lagoon Resort from RM230+ per room per night, room only. On the same weekday in October, the cheapest direct rate we found was RM326.16 at Damai Beach and RM430.92 for a Deluxe King at Damai Lagoon, both with breakfast. The sale is real money off, but check the stay dates before you pay.

What is on offer

Both resorts sit side by side at Teluk Bandung on the Santubong peninsula, with Mount Santubong rising behind them and the South China Sea in front. Damai Beach Resort is owned by Sara Resorts, part of the SEDC Sarawak group. Damai Lagoon is its sister resort next door. Both are now branded "by Hemisphere".

Each resort posted its own 10.10 Insiders Deals poster on its offers page:

  • Damai Beach Resort: RM180+ per room per night, room only.
  • Damai Lagoon Resort: RM230+ per room per night, room only.

Both posters say it is a "1 Day Sale for Insiders Club members" on 10 October 2026, that you must be a member, and that joining is free. Damai Beach's Instagram post from 22 September repeats the RM180+ rate and the one-day rule.

How to book it, step by step

  1. Join Insiders Club before the day. It is the free loyalty programme for the group's five Sarawak hotels: Riverside Majestic Puteri Wing, Riverside Majestic Astana Wing, Grand Margherita, Damai Beach and Damai Lagoon. Download the app from download.insidersclub.com.my and register.
  2. Decide your dates in advance. The sale runs for one day, so know your travel dates and a backup before 10 October.
  3. Book on 10 October. Use the app, or call Damai Beach on 019-886 4088 (sales 019-848 4011) or Damai Lagoon on 019-872 4099.
  4. Ask three questions before you pay: which stay dates the rate covers, which room category you get, and whether the booking can be changed or refunded.

What it actually costs: worked examples

We searched both resorts' own booking engines on 1 October for two adults and one night.

  • Damai Beach, Wednesday 14 October: the cheapest room was a Quadruple Balcony Single at RM302 + RM24.16 SST (8%) = RM326.16, with breakfast for two. A Standard Balcony King was RM320 and a Deluxe Hilltop King RM401, before tax.
  • Damai Beach, Saturday 17 October: the cheapest room was RM332 before tax.
  • Damai Lagoon, Wednesday 14 October: a Deluxe King was RM399 + RM31.92 service tax (8%) = RM430.92, with breakfast for two. A Baruk King with sea view was RM469 before tax.

Both engines added 8% tax and no separate service charge. If the 10.10 "+" works the same way, Damai Beach comes to about RM194.40 and Damai Lagoon to about RM248.40 a night. That is roughly RM130 and RM180 less than the weekday rates above. Remember the 10.10 rates do not include breakfast.

Compare it with Damai Beach's Escapade Deals

Damai Beach also lists Damai Escapade Deals on its offers page, with no end date printed:

  • RM240 nett for 2 days 1 night on weekdays (Sunday to Thursday).
  • RM340 nett on weekends (Friday and Saturday).
  • Includes breakfast for two, early check-in and late check-out (subject to availability), and 10% off your F&B bill (alcohol and promo items excluded).

On a weekday, the Escapade costs about RM45.60 more than the 10.10 rate with tax, and that covers breakfast for two plus the late check-out. If you would eat the resort breakfast anyway, the Escapade is probably the better deal. The 10.10 rate wins if you plan to eat out, or if it covers weekend nights.

Who it suits, and who should skip it

It suits Kuching families who want a cheap weekday beach night, couples heading up Mount Santubong for the day, and visitors to the nearby Sarawak Cultural Village who would rather stay by the sea than in town.

Skip it if you cannot commit to dates on 10 October, or if you need a refundable booking. Skip it too if you are only coming for a weekend and the 10.10 rate turns out to be weekdays only.

Fine print that trips people up

  • Stay dates are not published. Neither poster says when you can stay. Ask before paying.
  • Room only. Breakfast is extra at the 10.10 price, while the regular website rates and the Escapade include it.
  • "From" means limited. The headline price is the starting rate, so the cheapest rooms may sell out first.
  • The direct website's regular rates are non-refundable. On the booking engine, even the "Best Flexible rate" we saw was marked non-cancellable, pay now. Assume the sale rate is non-refundable unless the resort tells you otherwise.
  • Tourism tax. Malaysian citizens and PRs do not pay the RM10-a-night tourism tax that foreign guests pay.
