> Quick view: Decathlon's first Perak store is open at AEON Mall Ipoh Station 18, lot G22, trading 10am–10pm daily. The 29–31 August grand-opening offers — the free backpack from RM168, the RM129 Kipcore shoes — are over, even though Decathlon's own store page still shows them. What works at the till now is Miles For Smiles, until 4 October 2026 (Kipcore Premium RM179). The 9.9 extension (to 13 September) and Brands Day (to 18 September) are app and website only.

The opening offers ended on 31 August — but the store page still shows them

Decathlon Station 18 opened with a three-day grand opening on 29–31 August 2026. Everything attached to it has ended: the free shopping bag, backpack and cooler-bag tiers, the eight opening prices, the RM35 fun run and both Zumba sessions.

The catch is that Decathlon's own Station 18 page still leads with the grand-opening artwork. Checked on 11 September 2026, the page shows the "29th–31st August 2026" banner with its free-gift tiers, three opening-offer banners and a "The countdown is on!" teaser — none of which has changed since Decathlon put them up on 21 August. If you arrive expecting a free backpack for a RM168 spend, you will not get one.

The store: where it is and when it's open

  • Decathlon Station 18, lot G22, ground floor, AEON Mall Ipoh Station 18, No. 2 Susuran Stesen 18, Station 18, 31650 Ipoh, Perak
  • Hours: 10am–10pm daily, per the store's own page
  • The mall runs later on some nights: AEON Mall's page gives 10am–10pm Sunday to Thursday and 10am–10:30pm on Friday, Saturday and the eve of a public holiday. Decathlon does not say it follows the later close, so plan on 10pm
  • Malaysia Day falls on Wednesday 16 September 2026, which makes Tuesday 15 September a mall late night. Decathlon has published no special holiday hours for this store
  • Decathlon's own directions: 15–20 minutes' drive from Ipoh city centre via Jalan Pasir Puteh or Jalan Pengkalan, with sheltered and open-air parking

It is the only Decathlon in Perak — and the store list doesn't show it yet

The store page says it plainly: as of August 2026, Station 18 is the only Decathlon in Perak. But Decathlon's *Find a Store* directory has not caught up. On 11 September 2026 it listed 35 stores, and neither Ipoh nor Perak appears anywhere on it. The closest stores it does list are across the state line in Penang: Gurney Paragon, Gurney Plaza, Klippa Batu Kawan and AEON Bukit Mertajam. If you search the directory for Ipoh and find nothing, go straight to the Station 18 page instead.

What the store does besides selling

Three services matter more to Perak shoppers than any single promotion, because until 29 August each of them meant a trip to Penang or the Klang Valley:

  • Free Click & Collect — choose Station 18 at online checkout and pick the order up in the store
  • Returns and exchanges from anywhere — the store accepts items bought online or at any other Malaysian branch; bring your membership profile or the receipt
  • Trial zones for bicycles, scooters and fitness equipment

Membership is free and adds 365-day returns.

What works at the Station 18 till this month

Three Decathlon campaigns are running on 11 September 2026, and they are not all in-store:

  • Miles For Smiles, until Sunday 4 October 2026 — works in store. The campaign's own banner says *Available online & in-store. While stocks last.*
  • 9.9 Smashing Sale, extended to Sunday 13 September — app only. The banner is marked *Only on the Mobile App*: vouchers up to RM20 off, deals up to 50% off and free shipping, with a minimum spend of RM150 in West Malaysia (RM300 in East Malaysia), on products sold and shipped by Decathlon.
  • Brands Day, until Friday 18 September — website and app. Up to 70% off selected partner brands, including Garmin, adidas, Therabody, Trespass, Mountain Warehouse, Protech, AD Sports and UtanKing. The banner limits it to *www.decathlon.my and mobile app*.

One oddity: Decathlon's 9.9 deals page is still titled "9.9 SALE | 5 - 10 Sep", while the homepage banner announcing the app-only extension to 13 September went up on 11 September. The banner is the newer of the two.

Miles For Smiles: three hero prices, and the shoe that cost less last month

The Miles For Smiles banner leads with three products, each 28% off:

  • Men's Kiprun Kipcore Premium (blue) — RM249 → RM179
  • Trail running bag, 10L — RM249 → RM179
  • Trigger Point 5.0-inch massage ball — RM139 → RM99

The comparison worth knowing: at the grand opening the Kipcore Premium was RM129. Under Miles For Smiles it is RM179 — RM50 more than on the opening weekend, though still RM70 under its RM249 list price. If you missed the opening, this is the lowest price Decathlon is publishing for that shoe right now, and it is one you can pay at the Station 18 till.

Miles For Smiles also runs five buy-one-get-a-gift pairs and three bundles (towels 3 for RM58, kids' backpacks 2 for RM49, inline skates plus helmet for RM99), broken down in our national guide linked below. Decathlon has published no terms for the campaign beyond *while stocks last*, so for anything outside the three hero lines, check the product's in-store availability before you drive over.

The app-only deals: collect them at Station 18

You cannot redeem the 9.9 extension or Brands Day at the counter, but you can still use the store. Order in the app or on the website, choose Click & Collect at Station 18, and pick it up free — which also means a West Malaysian basket under RM150 does not have to reach the free-shipping minimum. One caveat for Brands Day: it covers Decathlon's partner-brand marketplace, where an item can be sold and shipped by the partner rather than by Decathlon, so check the "shipped by" line at checkout before you count on store pickup.

Also at AEON Mall Ipoh Station 18

  • Saturday 12 September — AEON VIP Day at AEON Ipoh Station 18, for AEON members. A RM5 e-voucher for every RM100 in a single receipt at the AEON Supermarket, and a RM10 voucher for every RM100 at AEON's general merchandise department — 5% and 10% back respectively. A RM100 storewide receipt also buys one entry to the 2pm and 5pm challenge games (first 100 per game). This is AEON's own store: a Decathlon receipt does not count, because Decathlon is a tenant, not an AEON department. Government-controlled items, infant milk powder and Apple products are among the exclusions.
  • Sunday 20 September — Mid-Autumn Festival, 12:30pm–9pm at the South Court, ground floor (by Padini): a lantern-making contest, a lantern parade with a free lantern and goodies for the first 500 participants, and a colouring contest for children aged 5–12. Register with the QR code on the poster or the mall's online form.
  • Saturday 26 September — Largest Kimono Gathering, a Malaysia Book of Records attempt. Any Japanese traditional wear counts, registrants get a Japanese knit bag, and there is a lucky draw sponsored by Poh Kong.
  • Sunday 18 October — Batik Run 2026, Ipoh, 7am start, 7:30am flag-off. RM34.90 super early bird (100 slots), then RM39.90 until sold out; 3XL–4XL add RM5, 5XL–7XL add RM9. Entry includes a dry-fit tee, finisher medal, PA insurance, water, a Zumba session, an e-certificate and a lucky-draw entry. Registration on JomRun closes 17 October, 11:59pm. It is listed by the mall, not by Decathlon.

What the grand opening offered, for the record

For 29–31 August 2026, 9am–10pm: a free shopping bag for the first 500 customers a day, a free backpack from RM168 (120 a day), a free cooler bag from RM188 (90 a day), and both from RM350. Eight lines were cut to opening prices: Kipcore Premium shoes RM249 → RM129, Kipsummit trail shoes RM299 → RM179, a camp bed RM299 → RM129, a camp trolley RM299 → RM179, a 5L trail running bag RM99 → RM49, a Quechua armchair RM79 → RM39, a 10L duffel RM59 → RM29 and a running cap RM39 → RM19. The RM35 5km fun run on 29 August (3,000 slots, a limited-edition backpack for the first 1,300) and the RM20 morning Zumba were fully booked; the free evening Zumba on 30 August was open to all.

Who this suits, and who should skip it

Go if you live in Perak and need running kit: the Kipcore Premium at RM179 under Miles For Smiles is a real in-store price until 4 October. Go too if you have an online order to collect or a return from another branch — both used to mean a drive out of the state.

Skip it if you are chasing the opening gifts (they ended on 31 August) or an app-only price (the 9.9 extension and Brands Day won't ring up at the counter; order online and collect instead). And if the plan is AEON's VIP Day, keep your Decathlon shopping on a separate receipt and don't expect it to count.
