> Quick view: Both campaigns below have ended — the 10th Anniversary Sale on 16 August 2026, the Merdeka 31KM Run on 31 August 2026. What survives them is the reward: the run's 700 bonus points (stated as worth an RM10 Decathlon gift card) are valid one year from the date they were credited, so a completed challenge is still worth an RM10 gift card today. Decathlon's live campaign now is Miles For Smiles, until 4 October 2026 — and, until 30 September, the monthly Payday vouchers below.
What Decathlon is running now: Payday, 24–30 September 2026
Checked on 24 September 2026 on Decathlon Malaysia's own Payday page (titled "Payday Deals | 24 - 30 September"), the campaign is five spend tiers, one discount per transaction:
- Spend RM150 → RM8 off
- Spend RM250 → RM15 off
- Spend RM450 → RM30 off
- Spend RM650 → RM45 off
- Spend RM850 → RM60 off
There are two ways in, and they are not the same:
- Website and app (the easy one). On decathlon.my or the Decathlon app, the discount is applied automatically at checkout once your basket clears a tier. No code.
- App Exclusive (in-store voucher collection). Same five tiers, but you collect the voucher code in a Decathlon store, then key it in at checkout in the Decathlon app. Each code is one use per Membership ID and only valid during the campaign window.
The fine print both share: the minimum spend is counted before the discount and must be met in a single transaction; Marketplace and Partner Brands products don't count; and if you return or exchange an item, the refund is the discounted price you actually paid, not the shelf price. The terms are written for "the 24th of the respective month" to the last calendar day, so Payday is a monthly slot — but Decathlon reserves the right to change or end it, so don't plan around October until the page updates. The page also advertises 0% interest instalments over up to 3 months with buy-now-pay-later providers, subject to their own terms.
Worked example: where the tiers bite
Say your basket is RM440 — a pair of running shoes, a hydration vest and some socks. That only clears the RM250 tier, so you pay RM425 (RM15 off). Add one RM10 item to reach RM450 and the RM30 tier kicks in: you pay RM420 and walk away with an extra item. The same logic holds at every step: the gap between tiers is where a small add-on pays for itself. The reverse also holds: at RM460 there is nothing to gain by adding more until you get near RM650.
For a smaller order, the RM8 tier at RM150 lines up with Decathlon's free standard delivery threshold for West Malaysia (RM150), so a RM150 online order gets both. In East Malaysia the free-delivery threshold is RM300, which falls between the RM250 and RM450 tiers.
Who it suits: anyone already planning a Decathlon order above RM150 before the month ends. Who should skip: if your basket is mostly Marketplace or partner-brand listings, it won't count towards the tiers at all. Check the product page seller before you rely on the discount.
Update, 10 September 2026 — a correction. This article previously said Decathlon had retired its 10th Anniversary Sale landing page and that the page returned a 404. Re-checked today, `decathlon.my/s/10th-anniversary` returns HTTP 200, its browser tab still reads "10th Anniversary SALE | 22 June - 16 Aug", and the hero banner and Flash Sale product carousel still render in full. The campaign really is over — its own terms still say 22 June to 16 August 2026 — but the page being live or dead proved nothing either way, and we should not have used it as evidence. The prices and mechanics that replaced it are in our Miles For Smiles breakdown.
First, the sale you came for: it's finished
The 10th Anniversary Sale ran 22 June to 16 August 2026 — up to 50% off in a rotating flash sale, RM10 flat-price items (backpacks, swimming goggles, towels), a 3-for-RM99 fitness and modest-wear bundle, and a free kids' scooter with a qualifying adult scooter purchase. The campaign's own Terms & Conditions dropdown still states the window plainly — "valid from 22th June 2026 (00:00) to 16th August 2026 (23:59 pm) only" — and that, not the state of the page, is what settles it. Nothing from the sale can still be claimed, and any voucher site still listing "10th anniversary" codes is working from a cached page. One thing does survive: members who spent RM200 during the campaign earned 700 bonus points redeemable in the app for an RM10 gift card, valid one year from the purchase date, one receipt per day.
The campaign that followed it: the Merdeka 31KM Run (22–31 August 2026)
The run sat inside Decathlon's "Miles For Smiles" banner campaign — the same campaign whose deals page still reads "Until 4th Oct" on 24 September 2026 — but the challenge itself was a ten-day running goal rather than a discount, and it closed on Merdeka Day:
- Distance: 31 km, in reference to 31 August
- Window: 22–31 August 2026 — ten days
- Reward: 700 bonus points, which Decathlon's own banner states is worth an RM10 Decathlon gift card
- Extra: a free Kiprun 5-panel cap for the top 5 finishers per store
- Limit: one entry per membership account; points are credited on challenge completion, and gifts are picked up at any Decathlon store
How to join, step by step
Decathlon's own campaign page lays it out in five steps:
- Download the Decathlon app and sign in to your membership account
- Go to My Account → Membership Points & Rewards → Earn More Points
- Find the Merdeka 31KM Challenge and tap "Take up the Challenge"
- Connect a running tracker app — tap "Log in to Decathlon Hub" and use the *same email address* as your Decathlon account, or the runs won't sync
- Run and track. Outdoor runs, trail runs and treadmill runs all count toward the 31 km
The email-matching detail in step 4 is where most people lose their kilometres: if your tracker app is signed in under a different address, the distance never reaches your Decathlon account and the challenge sits at zero.
Is 31 km worth RM10? A worked example
Ten days, 31 km. That's 3.1 km a day, or four runs of roughly 7.8 km if you'd rather run every other day. The payoff is 700 points ≈ RM10, so about RM0.32 per kilometre.
Framed honestly: that is not a reason to take up running. But if you already run 20–30 km a week, the challenge costs you a ten-minute app setup and you'd have run the distance anyway. Worth knowing before you plan a shopping trip around the reward — Decathlon's free standard delivery threshold is RM150 in West Malaysia and RM300 in East Malaysia, so an RM10 gift card won't get an online order shipped free on its own.
Who it suits, who should skip it
Join if: you're already a Decathlon member, you already run, and you already track runs on a phone or watch app that can connect to Decathlon Hub.
Skip if: you don't track your runs digitally (there is no manual-entry route advertised), or you were hoping walking counts — the campaign names outdoor run, trail run and treadmill run only. And if you were chasing the Kiprun cap specifically, remember it's five people per store, so treat it as a lottery, not a reward.
Also worth watching: the 118 Mall flagship
Decathlon has confirmed a 22,000 sq ft flagship on Level 2 of 118 Mall, the retail component of the Merdeka 118 precinct in Kuala Lumpur. It's being positioned as a legacy store for the Malaysian market, with songket-inspired interiors and added services including custom printing, engraving and racket stringing, plus omnichannel ordering so you can buy beyond the in-store range.
Timing has slipped to November. May 2026 reporting put the mall's opening in August, but that date passed. On 5 August 2026 The Star reported that 118 Mall had held a gathering for more than 200 retail partners and was slated to open in November 2026, with more than 300 outlets. No exact day has been announced, and a September 2026 preview still lists Decathlon among the confirmed retailers. Until the mall names a date, don't drive in specially for the Decathlon store.
Fine print
- One entry per membership account — you can't stack it across family accounts on one phone
- Points are credited on completion, not progressively per kilometre
- The free Kiprun cap is limited to the top 5 finishers per store, not all finishers
- Gifts are picked up in-store, not posted
- The challenge window closed 31 August 2026; the bonus points it paid remain valid for one year from the date they were credited, and a gift card redeemed with points has no minimum spend
- Payday (24–30 September 2026): one tier per single transaction, minimum spend counted before the discount, Marketplace and Partner Brands excluded, in-store codes one use per Membership ID

The run's dates, mechanics and terms were read on 20 August 2026 from Decathlon Malaysia's own homepage banner and its Merdeka 31KM Run campaign page, and re-checked on 10 September 2026: that campaign page now loads under the generic title "Decathlon Malaysia | Redeem Gift Cards", and its terms confirm the 22–31 August 2026 window and the one-year validity of the points. The 404 claim made in the 20 August version of this article has been withdrawn — `decathlon.my/s/10th-anniversary` returned HTTP 200 on 10 September 2026 and still renders the campaign in full. The Payday tiers and terms, and the Miles For Smiles end date, were read from Decathlon Malaysia's own campaign pages on 24 September 2026. The 118 Mall details come from Decathlon Malaysia's statements reported in June 2026 and The Star's 5 August 2026 report on the November opening.
