> Quick view (checked 5 October 2026 against the mall's own homepage, promotions page, tenant directory and WordPress feed): every September campaign at Design Village has now ended. The Syoknya Merdeka Sale closed 27 September, free parking ended 16 September, and the final Weekday Beli-Beli draw (Chengdu flights) closed 30 September. The next mall-wide offer is The Light of Deepavali: from 23 October 2026, spend RM300 or more in one same-day receipt at any outlet and redeem one exclusive peacock bowl, while stocks last. Before then, Gatti's clearance runs to 11 October and the DV Fun Club runs weekend workshops from RM10.

What ended in September

All three mall-level campaigns this page tracked through August and September are over:

  • Syoknya Merdeka Sale (21 August – 27 September 2026). RM500 in a single same-day receipt redeemed a prize from a pool the mall valued at up to RM50,000, one redemption per customer per day, while stocks last. It has been taken off the homepage and replaced by the Deepavali panel.
  • Free parking (15 August – 16 September 2026). South and East open car parks from 15 August, the multistorey from 29 August. The mall has posted no extension, so the normal rates below apply again — even though the old "Free Parking Until 16 September" post is still sitting in the promotions page's Ongoing tab.
  • Weekday Beli-Beli, Chengdu edition (closed 30 September 2026). RM150 in one weekday receipt, submitted at the Customer Service Lounge, for a draw on return flights for two to Chengdu. The mall billed this as the final Beli-Beli campaign. The previous (Ho Chi Minh) round's winners were posted on 10 September; no Chengdu winners post had appeared by 5 October.

And from earlier in the year: the July Mega Sale O'Clock (up to 85% off, Stamping Campaign mystery gift, GUESS and G2000 tiered deals) ended 31 July 2026. If you still see those terms quoted, they are recycled.

The Light of Deepavali: RM300 for a peacock bowl, from 23 October

This is the mall's next campaign, and like Syoknya it lives only on the Design Village homepage under Events & Activities — there is no promotions-page post and no WordPress entry, which is why deal sites tend to miss these. Read straight off the campaign artwork:

  • Starts 23 October 2026, runs "till stocks last". There is no fixed end date.
  • Spend RM300 and above in a single receipt from any outlet in Design Village Outlet Mall.
  • Receive one exclusive peacock bowl — the artwork shows a small gold-tone bowl shaped like a peacock.
  • Fine print: same-day receipts only, one redemption per customer per day, while stocks last, terms and conditions apply.

Two changes from Syoknya matter. The threshold is RM300, down from RM500, and the poster says "any outlet" outright — so the store-restriction ambiguity the Syoknya logo row created does not arise here. What stays the same is the single-receipt rule.

Worked examples:

  • RM320 at one store on 24 October. One peacock bowl.
  • RM640 at one store on 24 October. Still one bowl — one redemption per customer per day. Splitting that into two RM320 trips on two different days gets two bowls.
  • RM180 + RM150 at two stores on the same day (RM330 total). No bowl. Neither receipt reaches RM300 on its own.
  • RM310 spent on 22 October, brought back on the 23rd. No bowl. The campaign starts on the 23rd and needs a same-day receipt.

"Till stocks last" is the real deadline. A fixed gift with no end date tends to go fastest in its first weekend (24–25 October), so if the bowl is the point of the trip, go early.

Tenant offers you can still use in October

The promotions page's Ongoing tab is not pruned, so this list is filtered by the dates in each tenant's own post, and every store below is still marked as trading in the mall's directory:

  • Gatti (Lot G.46–G.49, Purple Zone) — clearance "as low as RM5", valid until 11 October 2026. Our Gatti Design Village guide has the prices.
  • New Balance (G.157–158, Orange Zone) — extra 30% off when you buy any 3 items or more, no end date published.
  • Al-Ikhsan Sports (G.107–108, Green Zone) — selected shoes from RM49, "until further notice".
  • Pery Smith (G.17, Green Zone) — buy 2 get RM199 off, "until further notice".
  • Country Hide (G.82, Orange Zone) — up to 70% off storewide plus a Kickers promotion, no end date published. The post's "Spin O'Clock" gachapon belonged to July, so don't expect that part.
  • MC VOGUE (G.23, Green Zone) — opening promotion: buy 2 free 1, or RM8 off 2 items / RM20 off 4, selected items.

Dropped or finished since our last check: 361° Outlet's up-to-70% post has left the Ongoing tab (the store at G.110 is still listed as trading); PONEY's free Faye or Finn plush on RM199 ended 30 September; Kate Spade New York's Surprise Sale (up to 80% off, extra 10% on 2, 15% on 3) ran to 5 October; and the Levi's reopening (to 9 August) and Kitchen Shop mid-year sale (to 5 July) are long over despite still carrying the Ongoing tag.

DV Fun Club: weekend workshops from RM10

The mall's kids' and family workshop series has moved into an air-conditioned space at Bunkuya, Lot G.138 (Purple Zone), running Saturdays and Sundays, 5pm–7pm. Places are booked and paid through the mall's online shop (shop.designvillagepenang.com/pages/dv-fun-club), are non-refundable, and late arrivals are not admitted. October's line-up:

  • 10 Oct (Sat) — Acrylic flower lamp, RM20
  • 11 Oct (Sun) — Blooming aroma, RM15
  • 17 Oct (Sat) — Seashell deco, RM15
  • 18 Oct (Sun) — Vinyl painting, RM15
  • 24 Oct (Sat) — Flowing colour silk scarf, RM10
  • 25 Oct (Sun) — Mini layer fruit cake, RM15
  • 31 Oct (Sat) — Halloween water beads, RM10
  • 1 Nov (Sun) — Steampunk robot creation, RM15

A 24 or 25 October workshop lines up neatly with the first weekend of the Deepavali redemption — if you are making one trip, do both.

Parking is paid again: what it costs

With the free period over, the mall's published rates apply:

  • Monday to Friday: RM1 for the first 3 hours, then RM1 per subsequent hour or part thereof.
  • Weekends and public holidays: RM2 for the first 3 hours, then RM1 per subsequent hour.
  • Lost ticket RM30; clamp release RM100.

A typical 4-hour weekday visit is RM2; the same visit on a Saturday is RM3. Payment is by cash at the auto-pay stations (multistorey lift lobby, East, South and West entrances), Touch 'n Go card at the exits, or contactless debit/credit card. The car park helpdesk is on the multistorey ground floor, 04-589 9158, 10am–11pm daily.

Getting there, hours and the practical bits

  • Hours: 11am–10pm daily. The mall's own site lists 11am; a lot of third-party listings still say 10am.
  • Address: 733, Jalan Cassia Barat 2, 14110 Bandar Cassia, Penang. Phone 04-589 9888.
  • Scale: around 150 stores across a 24-acre landscaped site with sheltered walkways. A full circuit takes a couple of hours.
  • Distances: roughly 5 minutes from the Second Penang Bridge, about 30 minutes from Penang International Airport and about 45 minutes from George Town. Batu Kawan is on the mainland, so budget for the bridge toll and weekend bridge traffic.

Is the trip worth it in October?

Go from 23 October if you were going to spend RM300 or more at one store anyway. That earns a peacock bowl on top of whatever the store is discounting, and the RM300 bar is low enough that one pair of trainers at New Balance or a Country Hide bag can clear it. Weekdays cost RM1 less to park and are quieter.

Go before 11 October if you are after the Gatti clearance. That is the deepest-discounted offer in the mall right now, and it ends before the Deepavali redemption starts, so you cannot combine the two.

Skip it if you were coming for the Syoknya prize, free parking or the Chengdu draw. All three have ended, and the mall has said Beli-Beli will not return.
