> Quick view: DirectD, the Subang Jaya phone chain that has been around since 2000, is running a four-day Warehouse Clearance Sale at its Gadget MEGA Store in Petaling Jaya, 24 to 27 October 2026, 10am to 10pm. Its 22 price posters list roughly 200 items, and the real savings sit on the flagship phones and smartwatches. Read every label, though: the price sheets split the stock into "Display Unit" and "New Set", and almost all the Apple stock is display units.

  • Others: Nothing Phone (3) RM1,999, OnePlus Nord 5 RM1,499, OPPO Reno 10 Pro RM999 (new set), Acerpure and Gaabor appliances (new set), and a Nokia C21 at RM199.

How it works

  1. Go to the PJ Mega Store. The sale is not on directd.com.my and not at the other branches. The store is at Lot 11, Jalan 51A/219, in the Section 51A industrial strip off the Federal Highway.
  2. Find the item and read its section header. "New Set" means a sealed unit. "Display Unit" means it has been on a shelf or demo table.
  3. Inspect before you pay. Ask to power the device on, check the screen, battery health, ports and what comes in the box.
  4. Ask about warranty in writing. DirectD's warranty policy says coverage follows each brand's principal, and that claims need the official receipt. Display units may not carry the full term, so ask what is left and get it on the invoice.
  5. Pay and keep the receipt. DirectD sells its extended warranty for phones and tablets within 7 days of purchase, which is worth considering on a display unit.

Worked examples: what you actually save

These compare the clearance price with DirectD's own webstore price on 24 October 2026.

  • Galaxy S25 Ultra 12GB/256GB (new set): RM3,999 against RM5,499 online. You save RM1,500, about 27%, on a sealed box.
  • Apple Watch Series 11 GPS 46mm (display unit): RM1,199 against RM1,949 online. You save RM750, if you are happy with a demo watch.
  • Nothing Phone (3) 12GB/256GB (display unit): RM1,999 against RM2,999 online. You save RM1,000.
  • A first smart-home kit: Xiaomi Smart Camera 2K (RM19) + Robot Vacuum S20 (RM299) + 3.5L air fryer (RM69) = RM387 for all three.

The MacBooks are harder to benchmark. DirectD's webstore now sells only the M5 MacBook Air (from RM5,499 for 16GB/512GB), so the RM2,399 M3 is a previous-generation, display-unit machine with 256GB. That is still a strong price for a student laptop, but check the battery cycle count first.

Who it suits, and who should skip it

It suits anyone in the Klang Valley who wants a flagship Samsung without paying launch prices, buyers who are relaxed about display units in exchange for a big discount, and households filling a new home with small Xiaomi gadgets.

Skip it if you want a guaranteed sealed iPhone or MacBook with full Apple warranty, if you need instalments (the posters say nothing about EPP or PayLater for sale items, so confirm at the counter), or if you live far from PJ and are only after one cheap accessory.

The fine print that trips people up

  • "Display Unit" is the default. Of the 22 posters, most phone, tablet, watch and TV lists are display units. Only some Samsung, Huawei, OPPO, Acerpure, Gaabor, ZTE, Nokia and RedMagic lists are new sets.
  • "Yellow Screen" iPads. The iPad 10th Gen (RM699) and iPad Pro 11" M2 (RM1,699) carry a yellow-screen note: a visible tint on the display. Look at it on a white background.
  • Two Xiaomi toothbrushes are "Open Box (New)". The T500 (RM39) and T700 (RM59) are unused but opened.
  • While stocks last. Single units sell first. The MacBook Air M3 RM2,499 lot was marked sold out within hours of opening.
  • One store only. Do not drive to the Subang Jaya flagship or the Penang, Johor or Kuantan branches expecting these prices.
