What the hotel is offering
The United Nations marks World Children's Day on 20 November, which falls on a Friday this year. Hard Rock Hotel Penang is celebrating the next day with a ticketed programme run by its Beach Club team. The details below come from the hotel's own offer page, its published schedule and menu, and the terms on its ticket page:
- Date: Saturday 21 November 2026
- Time: 10am to 7pm
- Ages: 7 to 12 only
- Standard price: RM60 nett per child. Stage Pass members pay the same RM60.
- In-house guests: RM30 nett per child, bought at the counter on the event day
- Included: every activity on the schedule plus a buffet lunch
Prices are nett, so service charge and tax are already included.
The day, hour by hour
The hotel's schedule runs like this:
- 10am: welcome at the lobby
- 10.15am: DJ lesson with DJ Nash, DJ Sly and DJ Mawi at Abbey Road
- 11.15am: magic show at the lobby
- 11.45am: bracelet making at the Sand Stage
- 12.30pm: buffet lunch at Starz Diner
- 1.30pm: dance session with the Beach Club team and mascots at the Sand Stage
- 2pm: arts and crafts at the Sand Stage
- 3pm: a second magic show at the lobby
- 3.30pm: mocktail flair show at Hard Rock Cafe
- 4.30pm: game stations at the Sand Stage pool area
- 5.30pm: group photo
- 5.45pm: pool fun
The lunch is a kids' buffet: fries, vegetarian fried rice, fried mee hoon, chicken popcorn, mini chicken burgers, barbecue chicken wings, margherita pizza, fruit, ice cream, cake, water and apple juice.
How to get a ticket
- Buy online through the "Get Tickets" button on the hotel's offer page. It goes to a Red Dot Payment checkout set up for the hotel, and the terms name the hotel as the only authorised seller.
- Or buy in person at the Roxity Kids Club on Friday 20 November, 11am to 7pm.
- Staying at the hotel? Children of in-house guests buy their RM30 ticket at the counter on the day.
- On the day, collect tickets at the Towel Counter between 8.30am and 9.30am, and show your proof of payment.
Worked examples
One child, day-trippers from George Town: RM60. Over a 9-hour programme with lunch, that works out to under RM7 an hour.
Two siblings aged 8 and 11: 2 x RM60 = RM120.
A family already staying at the hotel with two eligible children: 2 x RM30 = RM60 for both.
Siblings aged 5 and 9: only the 9-year-old can join, for RM60. The 5-year-old is too young. If you are in-house guests, the younger child can use the Roxity Kids Club instead, which the hotel says runs its own games, crafts and hands-on activities for guests under 7.
Lunch for the adults is not included. If you plan to wait at the resort, budget for your own meal at one of the hotel's outlets.
Who it is good for, and who should skip it
It suits Penang parents who want a full, organised Saturday for a primary-school child without driving between several activities. It also suits families already booked at the hotel that weekend, for whom RM30 is very little for a full day of structured fun. Children who like music will get the most from it, with a DJ lesson and a flair show built into the day.
Skip it if your child is under 7 or over 12, because the hotel says the event is open only to that age range. Also skip it if your Saturday plans might change, since you cannot get a refund or swap the date. And if your child dislikes big group activities, nine hours is a long stretch.
Fine print that trips people up
- No refunds, no exchanges. Once your order is confirmed, it is final. Only if the hotel postpones or cancels will it send a notice explaining any refund steps.
- Every child aged 7 to 12 needs a ticket. There is no sibling discount.
- No outside food or drinks at the event.
- Supervision is not explained. The page does not say whether it is a drop-off event or whether a parent must stay at the hotel. Call the Beach Club team on +60 4 886 8085 before you count on a child-free afternoon.
- Pack for the pool. The day ends with pool fun, so swimwear, a change of clothes and sunscreen make sense.
- Spots are limited, so buying online early is safer than waiting for the 20 November counter sale.
