The best discount is 72%, about 20 items are at least half price, and most big-ticket TVs and appliances sit between 15% and 40% off. Several also come with a Harvey Norman gift card or Touch 'n Go eWallet credits. Every price on the list matches Harvey Norman's national website, so you are not getting a Kelantan-only price, but you can see, test and carry the item home the same day.

Harvey Norman has one store in Kelantan, on the ground floor of AEON Mall Kota Bharu in Lembah Sireh. For anyone east of Gua Musang, the next nearest branch is Berjaya Megamall in Kuantan, so a week of markdowns at the Kota Bharu store is the closest thing the state gets to a big electrical sale. Harvey Norman has published the full product list on its own site, and we went through all 238 lines with their was and now prices.

How the sale works

  1. Check the list first. Harvey Norman's campaign page for AEON Kota Bharu shows every promo item with the current and original price. Items not on that page are sold at normal prices.
  2. Go to the store between 24 and 30 September. Opening hours follow Kelantan's Friday-Saturday weekend: 10am-10pm Saturday to Wednesday, 10.30am-10.30pm Thursday and Friday.
  3. Or order online. The T&C states the promotions are valid for in-store and online purchases at Harvey Norman AEON Kota Bharu, so you can reserve online and collect.
  4. Buy one of each. Each promo item is limited to one per customer. A family kitting out two bedrooms cannot buy two of the same discounted air conditioner on one account.
  5. Ask for the extras at the counter. Gift cards, TNG eWallet credits and free accessories are listed against individual products, not storewide.

What the numbers actually say

The banner promises up to 80% off. No product on the published list reaches it. The top five are the Targus Sagano 15.6-inch backpack in three colours (RM79, was RM279, 72% off), the Tefal IXEO+ QT1510 garment steamer (RM588, was RM1,999, 71%) and the Hilker Premium Suite II queen mattress (RM3,399, was RM11,699, 71%).

About 20 items are at 50% off or more, and they cluster in three places: laptop bags and sleeves, irons and garment steamers, and built-in gas hobs from Elba. TVs and air conditioners are thinner, mostly 15% to 36%. Coffee machines and shavers are the weakest, with Nespresso Vertuo Pop machines at RM899 from RM949 (5%).

We also checked the product pages behind the list. The LG 55QNED86 at RM3,997, the Hisense AS10X5KHA 1.0HP inverter at RM1,398 and the Hilker mattress at RM3,399 all carry exactly the same price on Harvey Norman's national website. The site's own data tags many of these items to other running campaigns too, such as "No Gimmicks Simply The Best Prices". In plain terms, the Kota Bharu list is a curated selection of current national prices.

Worked examples

A new-home kitchen starter kit. Elba 2-burner gas hob EGH-S8642G at RM547 (was RM1,299), Tefal Easy Rice Max RK7378 rice cooker at RM298 (was RM509), Philips HD9303 kettle at RM78 (was RM139) and a Khind SF-1663H stand fan at RM108 (was RM179). That comes to RM1,031 against RM2,126, a saving of RM1,095, or about 51%.

A bedroom air conditioner. The LG 1.0HP S3-Q09TZXAA is RM1,199 (was RM1,849) with RM30 TNG eWallet credits. The Hisense 1.0HP AS10X5KHA is RM1,398 (was RM1,899). The LG is RM199 cheaper upfront. Ask whether installation is included before you compare, because the list does not say.

A 55-inch TV. The LG 55QNED86 is RM3,997 (was RM5,699) with RM200 TNG eWallet credits. The LG 55QNED80 is RM2,897 (was RM4,099) and is listed with RM200 TNG credits plus an RM300 instant rebate. If that rebate comes on top of the RM2,897, the QNED80 lands at RM2,597 before credits. Confirm with staff whether it is already included.

The big-screen bundle. The Samsung 75-inch M80H is RM5,797 (was RM6,399). The listing adds an RM200 gift card, a Samsung SlimFit webcam (worth RM499), RM450 TNG credits and an RM500 instant rebate. That is a lot of paperwork, so go through each item with the salesperson before paying.

Who it suits, and who can skip it

It suits Kelantan households setting up a new home or replacing a rice cooker, kettle, hob or fan. Those categories carry the deepest cuts. It also suits anyone who wants to see a TV panel before buying rather than ordering online and waiting for delivery.

Skip it if you were after a phone, laptop or coffee machine. The Samsung Galaxy S26 FE is listed at RM3,299 with no was price, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 is only 16% off, and the Breville and Nespresso machines sit between 5% and 22%. You can also skip the trip if you live elsewhere and were only after the price, since the same price is available online.

Fine print that trips people up

  • One unit per promo item per customer. Plan multi-room purchases across family members, or accept the normal price on the second unit.
  • Some gift cards carry another store's label. The Hisense 65U7S (RM300 gift card), Hisense 65U6S, Sharp SJ4122MBL fridge and Sharp ESFX7APG washer are tagged "Coalfields Soft Opening", which is Harvey Norman's new Sungai Buloh store. Ask whether that gift card is honoured in Kota Bharu.
  • The mattress's extra 30% needs RM10,000. The Hilker listing says "Enjoy 30% off with a minimum spend of RM10,000". The mattress alone is RM3,399, so that extra discount only applies on a much larger bedroom order.
  • Stock is limited. The T&C says promotions are subject to stock availability, and Harvey Norman may change the mechanics without notice.
  • Holiday crowds. 29 and 30 September are state public holidays for the Sultan's birthday. Expect a busier mall on the last two days of the sale.
