> Quick view: MERDEKA Fest at LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort ended on 20 September 2026, and the Buy 1 Free 1 on day tickets is no longer on sale. The next event is Brick or Treat, 1 October to 1 November 2026. For a Malaysian family, the cheapest daytime visit is an online Theme Park ticket dated for a Tuesday, at RM103 adult and RM88 child, and the cheapest visit of all is the new evening ticket at RM75 and RM55. The free-entry deal for children in costume sounds best, but it needs a full-price RM205 adult ticket bought at the counter.

What has ended, and what replaced it

MERDEKA Fest is over. It ran from 27 August to 20 September 2026 at The Beginning Stage inside the Theme Park, with eight LEGO and Merdeka activity stations, a stamp challenge, and cultural performances that changed each week. LEGOLAND's campaign page still carries the 27 August to 20 September dates and has not been taken down, so do not read it as a current event.

The Buy 1 Free 1 on 1-Day tickets is gone. In early September this page recommended it over the 20% early-booking offer. On 22 September its page, /tickets-passes/day-tickets/matta/, returns a 404, and neither the day-tickets page nor the offers page lists it. LEGOLAND never published an end date, so it was withdrawn without notice. Anyone who bought those open-dated tickets before then can still use them within six months of purchase, as their original terms said.

Brick or Treat has taken its place. It runs 1 October to 1 November 2026 in several parts of the Theme Park. It includes Build-A-Spider, where children add their own LEGO spider to MINILAND, a costume contest, the new Mummy Queen character, Fang-tastic Shows, Halloween games at The Castle, The Great Monster Chase 4D, and meet-and-greets with Frankenstein, the Witch, Lord Vampyre and the Zombie Cheerleader. The Candy Trail trick-or-treat route runs Friday to Sunday only, which matters if you pick the cheap weekday below.

Route 1: an online Tuesday ticket, RM103 and RM88

LEGOLAND's ticket store sells the Malaysian 1-Day Theme Park ticket at a different price for each date. When we read the October calendar on 22 September, every open day was RM164 adult and RM140 child or senior, which is 20% off the RM205 and RM175 gate price. The exceptions were the Tuesdays, 6, 13, 20 and 27 October, each priced at RM103 adult and RM88 child or senior. That is exactly half the adult gate price. The next Tuesday, 29 September, was RM103 as well.

Dates less than five days away were back at the full RM205. So book early whichever day you choose.

Tuesdays are cheap for a reason. The Theme Park is closed on Wednesdays, not Tuesdays, so it is open, but in October Tuesday is a school day. Johor schools have no term break between 7 September and 4 December, so a Johor family would have to take the children out of school. The Candy Trail is also not on, because it runs Friday to Sunday. What you get is shorter queues at half price. Two adults and two children pay RM382.

Route 2: an evening ticket, RM75 and RM55

This is new for Brick or Treat. On Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays in October, LEGOLAND sells a Theme Park evening ticket. It costs RM75 for an adult and RM55 for a child for Malaysian citizens and eligible residents, and RM85 and RM65 for international guests. On Thursdays, entry is from 4pm and the Theme Park closes at 8pm. On Fridays and Saturdays, entry is from 5pm and it closes at 9pm. The ticket includes the Brick or Treat shows, activities and character appearances running during your visit, plus selected rides.

It is a dated ticket, non-refundable and non-transferable. It does not include the Water Park or SEA LIFE, parking is charged separately, and LEGOLAND says only "selected" rides run at night. Two adults and two children pay RM260, the lowest total for any Brick or Treat route. On Fridays and Saturdays that evening also overlaps with the Candy Trail. It suits families within driving distance of Johor Bahru. It is poor value if you are driving four hours from Kuala Lumpur for a four-hour visit.

Route 3: the costume deal, and why it is not the bargain it looks

LEGOLAND's headline offer is "Kids in Halloween costume enter free." The terms page adds four conditions:

  • One free child per full-price adult day ticket, bought at the LEGOLAND ticket counter only. Adult tickets bought online or from an agent do not count, so the RM164 and RM103 prices above cannot be combined with it.
  • The child must be 3 to 11 and in a full Halloween costume. LEGOLAND states that a T-shirt is not a costume and it can turn away costumes it does not accept.
  • 200 free entries a day, and each person can use it once during the event.
  • It works with a Theme Park, Double-Park or Triple-Park day ticket, from 1 October to 1 November 2026.

Now do the sums. One adult with one costumed child pays RM205 at the counter, against RM304 online on an ordinary day. That saves RM99. Two adults with two costumed children pay RM410, against RM608 online on an ordinary day, which saves RM198. But that same family pays RM382 online on a Tuesday, so on a Tuesday the costume deal loses by RM28. The deal wins on a Thursday to Sunday, when you want the Candy Trail and the Tuesday price is not available.

It is worth more on the bigger combo tickets. A Triple-Park adult ticket is RM345 at the gate, so two adults and two costumed children get the Theme Park, Water Park and SEA LIFE for RM690. Remember the daily cap of 200: on a Saturday in October you could reach the counter after it has run out and pay the full RM205 adult price with no free child. Go early.

If the Water Park is part of the plan

The Water Park is not part of Brick or Treat, and it is closed every Tuesday, so it cannot share a day with the RM103 Theme Park Tuesday. Its own promotion is still running: a flat RM88 for any Malaysian aged 3 and above, dated, online only, for visits on or before 30 November 2026. Is the annual pass worth it now?

LEGOLAND's Malaysian JDT Family Pass is still RM266 per person for twelve months of the Theme Park, Water Park and SEA LIFE, with no blackout dates on the Triple-Park pass, free parking and 15% off food and drink. For two adults and two children that is RM1,064. Two Tuesday Theme Park days cost that family RM764, so the pass only wins if you will make three or more visits in a year or want the other two parks as well. Now that the Buy 1 Free 1 is gone, a single visit is always cheaper than the pass.

Ride closures to check before you book

  • The Forestmen's Hideout is still listed as closed until further notice. It first went down in August and still has no reopening date.
  • Observation Tower is down 21 to 27 September, and the Water Park's Red Rush and Splash Out slides are down 22 to 29 September. Both reopen before Brick or Treat starts.

LEGOLAND updates the Scheduled Ride Closures list in place, so check it again the week you go.

Who each route suits

  • You can take a weekday off and do not mind skipping the Candy Trail: the online Tuesday ticket, RM103 and RM88.
  • You live near JB and your children stay up late: the evening ticket on a Friday or Saturday, RM75 and RM55.
  • You can only go on a weekend and your children will wear full costumes: the counter costume deal. Arrive early because of the 200-a-day cap.
  • You are from Singapore or overseas: the costume deal is open to you at the counter, and the evening ticket is RM85 and RM65. The Tuesday RM103 price is on the Malaysian ticket only.
