> Quick view: McDonald's Malaysia's collectible LED night lights — a Kon Sundae, a French Fries carton and a Big Mac — were sold as McD App add-ons at +RM25, +RM30 and +RM35 with any Set Nilai Hebat (Medium or Large). The early-access window ran 30 July to 1 August 2026 and has closed. As of 23 October 2026, McDonald's Malaysia still lists no restock, extension or second phase.

Can you still get them?

No — not at the promo price. The official McDonald's Malaysia promo page for the drop, *Koleksi Lampu Padu Mekdi Menanti Anda!*, states one window only: 30 Julai – 1 Ogos, described as *akses awal eksklusif melalui Aplikasi McD* (exclusive early access via the McD App), *sementara stok masih ada* (while stocks last).

We checked McDonald's Malaysia's promotions index again on 23 October 2026. Nothing among the campaigns posted since — from the late-August Happy Meal Mystery Toy through to October's Grimace merch, SpongeBob SquarePants x One Piece Happy Meal toys and bottled Sos Cili Mekdi — announces a restock, an extension, or a counter/drive-thru rollout of the lights.

One thing worth flagging: a few deal aggregators have circulated a claim that the lights went on general sale across all channels from 2 to 19 August 2026. We could not verify that anywhere on McDonald's Malaysia's own site, and the brand's promo page for the campaign describes only the three-day app window. Treat the "all channels" version as unconfirmed.

What the three lights were, and what each cost

All three were add-ons, never sold on their own during the promo. The add-on prices were:

  • Lampu Kon Sundae — add RM25. The soft-serve cone, the cheapest of the three.
  • Lampu French Fries — add RM30. A glowing red-and-yellow fries carton.
  • Lampu Big Mac — add RM35. The stacked burger, and the most expensive design.

McDonald's Malaysia noted that merchandise images in the campaign artwork were for illustration only, and that availability was subject to stock and its standard promotional terms.

How the add-on mechanic worked

This is the same structure McDonald's Malaysia uses for most of its merchandise drops, so it's worth understanding for the next one:

  1. Open the McD App and log in. The promo was app-exclusive — counter, self-order kiosk, drive-thru and delivery orders did not qualify for the add-on price.
  2. Add a qualifying meal first. You needed any Set Nilai Hebat in Medium or Large. Small sets did not unlock the add-on.
  3. Then add the light. The add-on price only appears once a qualifying set is already in the cart — which is why some people reported not seeing the item at all.
  4. Order within McD App operating hours, while stocks last.

Who this kind of drop suits — and who should skip it

Worth it if you were buying a McDonald's meal anyway and genuinely want the object. At +RM25 to +RM35 on top of a meal, the light is priced like a small piece of licensed merchandise rather than a free gift-with-purchase, so the maths only works if you'd have bought the food regardless.

Skip it if you were planning to buy the meal purely to unlock the merch, or if you were hoping to resell. Malaysian fast-food collectibles do appear on resale platforms at a markup within days of a drop, but the prices are set by sellers, not by McDonald's, and there is no guarantee of authenticity or of the item being unused. If you buy secondhand, that risk is entirely yours.

Also skip if you can't order in the first hours. Three-day, stock-limited app drops in Malaysia routinely sell out at popular outlets well before the end date.

What's actually live at McDonald's Malaysia right now

Checked against McDonald's Malaysia's official promotions page on 23 October 2026:

  • Grimace merch with a Kombo Famili Feast — the nearest thing to the night lights today, using the same add-on mechanic. From 8 October 2026, buy a Kombo Famili Feast and add a limited-edition Grimace piece: Tumbler +RM59.90, Puffer Bag +RM39.90, or Tote Bag or Plushie +RM19.90. Stock is limited and McDonald's Malaysia gives no end date, so it runs until outlets sell out. Unlike the lights, the page points you to your nearest restaurant rather than restricting it to the app.
  • SpongeBob SquarePants x One Piece Happy Meal toys — 10 collectible toys, one free with every Happy Meal from 22 October 2026, 10am, via McDelivery, Drive-Thru or in restaurant.
  • Sos Cili Mekdi in a bottle — add RM10 to any Set Nilai Hebat for a full bottle of the chilli sauce, via McDelivery, Drive-Thru or in restaurant.
  • McD App Birthday Fiesta — 1 to 31 October 2026, for the app's 8th birthday: exclusive merch and rewards, a Coke Zero for 0 points, a Mystery Reward redeemable with points every Friday, and a chance at 3 months of free Shopee VIP Rewards for the top 1,200 weekly spenders (one Shopee redemption per user).
  • Drive-Thru VIP Rewards — 1 October to 31 December 2026, a free 4pc Chicken McNuggets with a minimum spend of RM25 at any Drive-Thru when you show a car or motorcycle VIP sticker. Ask the Drive-Thru crew for a sticker if you don't have one.
  • 10,000 free lattes at Port Lepak McCafé — International Coffee Month pop-ups, 9am to 9pm. Remaining stops: 24–25 October at Hin Bus Depot, Penang and 30–31 October at East Coast Mall, Kuantan.

Just finished, so you don't chase them: the Tulis Ayat Lejen RM50 voucher contest (ended 4 October), the one-day 5 pieces of Ayam Goreng McD for RM20 with a Set Nilai Hebat (18 October), the free sauce-packet-for-bottle swap at Lot 10, Bukit Bintang (21 October, first 500 people), and the earlier latte stops at Central Market, Amcorp Mall, NU Sentral and Tebing Bandar Dato' Onn, Johor Bahru.

If you missed the lights

There is no announced restock, so the honest advice is: don't pay a resale premium on the assumption they're gone forever. McDonald's Malaysia runs merchandise drops frequently — the Spider-Man collectibles overlapped this one, the Grimace tumbler, bag and plushie add-ons are on now, and a Beg Piknik Mekdi Edisi Terhad (limited-edition picnic bag) was redeemable at selected outlets during the *Piknik Famili @Mekdi* weekend on 5–6 September 2026 — and the reliable way to catch the next one on day one is to keep the McD App installed, logged in and set to allow notifications, and to check the official promotions page rather than reposts.
