The Merdeka blocks deal is over

Both August offers have run their course:

  • Merdeka Building Blocks PWP — spend RM69 in a single dine-in or merchandise receipt, add the 318-piece set (3 mini-figures, styled after an Oriental Kopi storefront with its green-and-white awning) for RM29.90 instead of RM49.90. Ended 31 August 2026.
  • Free Rasa Malaysia tote bag — spend RM69 on merchandise in a single receipt, get a canvas tote worth RM28.90. Ran 14–31 August 2026. Also ended.

Oriental Kopi has published nothing since to extend either one. Its website's news section has not been updated since March 2026, and its Facebook page has moved on to the KSL City Mall opening.

Can you still buy the set on its own? Not online. We read Oriental Kopi's own store catalogue on 5 September 2026 — all 88 listings — and there is no building-blocks product in it at any price. The blocks were an in-store, limited-edition PWP; once outlet stock went, that was the end of it. If you want one now, the only route is asking at a branch whether any unsold sets are left, and there is no published price for a standalone sale.

What is actually live at Oriental Kopi in September 2026

1. Valuable Breakfast from RM6.90, 9am–11am

This is the everyday offer worth knowing. Oriental Kopi runs a discounted breakfast window from 9am to 11am, with sets from RM6.90, and it re-promoted the offer on 4 September 2026 in its own post announcing the KSL City Mall opening.

The lineup rotates monthly — May, June and other months each had their own featured dishes (June's pair was Egg Mayo Toast and Oriental Fried Chicken Mee Siam) — so the RM6.90 entry price is the constant and the specific dishes are not. In earlier months the brand excluded its airport outlets from the breakfast promotion, so check before you plan a KLIA breakfast around it. As of 5 September Oriental Kopi has not published a September dish lineup, so ask at the counter which sets are on the RM6.90 tier that morning.

2. Taro Polo Bun — 1 September to 4 October 2026

A limited-run version of the signature Polo Bun: crispy purple sweet potato crust, Taiwanese Dajia taro paste inside, and a thick slice of chilled butter. It was extended for a second month and now runs to 4 October 2026 at outlets nationwide, dine-in or takeaway, straight off the menu.

Two things to know. The Suria Sabah outlet is only expected to start serving it in mid-September 2026, so East Malaysia gets a shorter window. And Oriental Kopi has not published a price for it — it is menu-priced, not a discount, so treat it as a limited item rather than a deal.

3. Oriental Kopi × NIKO NEKO — 1 September to 31 October 2026

Three collaboration items pairing Oriental Kopi kaya with NIKO NEKO's matcha and hojicha:

  • AJISAI — Matcha Kaya Latte
  • KIYONE — Matcha Kaya Gelato
  • AKANE — Houjicha Pandan Kaya Gelato

The catch that catches people: these are sold at NIKO NEKO outlets, not at Oriental Kopi. Walking into a kopitiam and asking for the Matcha Kaya Latte will not work. No prices have been published, and availability is by outlet and by day.

4. Jaya Grocer bundle — RM20.90, 1 to 30 September 2026

At Jaya Grocer nationwide, a Sunshine Roti Susu Hokkaido plus an Oriental Kopi White Coffee Premix is RM20.90 against a stated normal combined value of RM23.70 — a RM2.80 saving, about 12 per cent. It runs 1–30 September 2026, while promotional stocks last.

Worth doing the arithmetic before you get excited. Oriental Kopi's own online shop sells Classic White Coffee at RM18.90, which means the bundle's own RM23.70 baseline prices the bread at roughly RM4.80 and the premix at close to its normal shelf price. The RM2.80 is real, but it is a bread-and-coffee bundle discount, not a discount on the coffee. If you were not going to buy the loaf, you are not saving anything.

New outlet: KSL City Mall, Johor Bahru

Oriental Kopi opened at KSL City Mall on Friday, 4 September 2026 — lots L2-132A and L2-081, right beside GSC Cinema on Level 2. The brand's own post that evening described queues from the morning onward and confirmed the outlet is open daily from 9am (opening day ran 9am to 10pm).

The opening-day offers are already gone. On 4 September only, the outlet ran 15% off storewide across dine-in, takeaway and retail products, plus Buy 6 Free 1 on thick-crust egg tarts at the bakery counter. Both were single-day. If you are going this weekend you are going for the food, not the discount — the RM6.90 breakfast window is the offer that survives.

That is why the old RM69 threshold was easier than it sounded: two jars of kaya, a sambal and one premix cleared it. It is also why the next one will be — Oriental Kopi's spend-threshold offers have consistently landed at RM69, so if a Deepavali or year-end version appears, budget around four to five retail items.

Who this suits, and who should skip

Worth a trip: anyone who can get there between 9am and 11am. The RM6.90 breakfast window is the only genuine price cut Oriental Kopi runs on a standing basis, and it beats every limited-time gimmick the chain has floated this year.

Worth a detour: Johor Bahru locals curious about the KSL City Mall outlet, and matcha drinkers willing to go to a NIKO NEKO rather than a kopitiam.

Skip it: if you came for the building blocks. They are gone, there is no online listing, and no successor collectible has been announced. Chasing branches for leftover stock is not worth the petrol.
