> Quick view: POPULAR's Annual Clearance runs 23 October to 9 November 2026 at 56 participating POPULAR and HARRIS bookstores. Selected items carry rebates of up to 50%, or up to 90% for POPULAR members, once you spend RM10 and above. The first 10,000 customers who buy anything can add a Snoopy 5-ply tissue pack for RM8 nett (usual RM16.90), and a RM60 nett spend opens two purchase-with-purchase deals.

This is POPULAR's biggest sale of the year, and it returns every year in the last quarter. The 2024 edition ran at 55 POPULAR and HARRIS stores with general rebates of up to 70%; this year the headline general figure is lower at 50%, while the member ceiling stays at 90% and the store count rises to 56. POPULAR's own campaign page and its two in-store posters give the details below. Everything else (which shelves, which titles, which branches) you will only see in store, so plan around that.

How it works, step by step

  1. Check your branch is one of the 56. POPULAR's campaign page gives the number but no list, and its store locator shows more branches than that, so a small or airport outlet may not be in. Call ahead before a special trip.
  2. Look for the clearance shelves and rebate signs. The rebates apply to selected items only. Regular-priced new releases elsewhere in the shop are not part of it.
  3. Bring your POPULAR card if you have one. The higher member tier (up to 90%) is the main reason this sale is worth a visit for regulars.
  4. Spend at least RM10. Both posters put the same asterisk on the rebates: "Spend RM10 and above." A single cheap item may not qualify, so group your buys on one receipt.
  5. Add the tissue at the counter. Any purchase lets you buy the Snoopy tissue at RM8 nett while the first 10,000 units last, one per customer per receipt on the same day.
  6. Check whether you have hit RM60 nett. If so, you can add the POP BAZIC mug and the MICROPACK mouse at their PWP prices.

The two fixed deals, in ringgit

Snoopy Premium Tissue 5-Ply 6-in-1 (76 pulls x 6 packs, assorted designs): RM8.00 nett, usual price RM16.90. That saves RM8.90, or about 53%. It is limited to the first 10,000 customers, and the poster does not say whether that count is per store or in total, so do not leave it to the last week.

The two purchase-with-purchase items need a spend of RM60 nett and above:

  • POP BAZIC stainless steel coffee mug with dual drink lid and straw, 330ml: RM25.00 nett (usual RM59.90), saving RM34.90.
  • MICROPACK MP729 wireless mouse (silent click, dual-mode connection): RM35.00 nett (usual RM59.00 nett), saving RM24.00.

The fine print says the RM60 must exclude the price of the PWP items themselves, and each PWP item is limited to one per customer per receipt on the same day.

Worked examples

A family top-up run. You pick up RM62 of clearance storybooks and a box of colour pencils on one receipt. That clears RM60, so you add the mug (RM25) and the mouse (RM35) and the tissue (RM8). You pay RM130 in total and save RM67.80 on the three add-ons alone (RM34.90 + RM24.00 + RM8.90), before counting any rebate on the books.

Just short of RM60. Your basket comes to RM55. Adding the RM25 mug does not help, because PWP items do not count towards the threshold. You need another RM5 of real shopping first. If the mug is the only thing you want, ask yourself whether RM5 more of books is worth RM34.90 off.

What the rebate tiers mean on one book. Take a RM39.90 paperback on a rebate shelf. At 50% it costs RM19.95. If the same book sits in a member tier at 90%, a cardholder pays RM3.99. These are ceilings, not the norm: most tagged items will sit somewhere below the headline figure, so read each shelf sign.

Is a card worth it? POPULAR's Privilege Card costs RM25 for three years (RM12 for one year or a student card). On the example above, one member-tier book saves RM15.96 more than the general tier, so one or two such finds already cover a one-year card. If the member signs near your shelves do not show bigger cuts than the general ones, do not pay for a card just for this sale.

Who it is good for, and who should skip it

Good for: parents restocking stationery before the new school year, readers who like browsing bargain bins, and anyone who wants the tissue or the two PWP gadgets. Members get the most out of it.

Skip it if you want a specific new title. Clearance means older and overstocked items, and POPULAR does not publish a title list. A new release at full price is better bought with the card's normal member discount, or during Member's Syok Giler Treats (to 1 November), which gives 30% off regular-priced books on the day you sign up or renew.

Fine print that trips people up

  • Selected items, selected outlets. Both conditions sit in the same asterisk. A shelf at one branch may not be on rebate at another.
  • RM10 minimum. The posters do not say whether it is counted before or after the rebate. If your basket is close to RM10, ask the cashier.
  • The clearance does not stack with Syok Giler Treats. That promotion excludes nett-priced and promotion items, which is exactly what clearance stock is.
  • One per receipt, same day for the tissue and each PWP item. Splitting into two receipts gets you a second unit only if each receipt qualifies on its own.
  • While stocks last. "New stock added daily" helps on the shelves, but the 10,000-customer tissue cap is fixed.
