> Quick view: POPULAR's Super Holiday Promotion ended on 16 September 2026, and so did everything that followed it in September. On 5 October 2026 POPULAR's Ongoing Promotions hub lists Good Reads, Great Value (25 Sept to 11 Oct), Member's Syok Giler Treats (2 Oct to 1 Nov), the Baucar Buku MADANI programme (to 31 Oct), a Kuala Selangor-only monthly sheet, and three bookfairs. October's WOW! stationery and Books of the Month posters were uploaded on 1 October. Below, every one is priced off POPULAR's own artwork.

What has ended since September

All of these are gone from POPULAR's hub, which is the only page that says what is live:

  • Super Holiday Promotion, 28 August to 16 September. Its campaign page still opens and still shows those dates. Nothing on it is honoured.
  • September WOW! Deals (the nine-line panel, RM200.60 nett for the lot), Self-Help Promotion (20% on two books) and Comic Carnival 6.0, all 30 September.
  • The 20% POPClub member gift certificate, 27 September.
  • The Kuantan City Mall fair voucher, which ran 21 September to 4 October. If you still hold one, it has expired.
  • The Aiman Mall, Kota Samarahan fair (three English books for RM20.00 nett) closed on 28 September.

Good Reads, Great Value: the member column is back

This is the campaign that matters until 11 October 2026, at all POPULAR and HARRIS bookstores in Malaysia. Like Super Holiday, it prints two prices on most lines: a "Now" price for everyone and a lower Member price. Every price is nett.

Books with both prices:

  • Ramen Makes Us Complete: RM99.95 usual, RM89.90 now, RM79.90 member
  • The View from Ninety (Charles Handy): RM74.90, RM67.50, RM59.90 member
  • Children's Animal Encyclopedia (POPULAR exclusive): RM89.90, RM49.90, RM44.90 member

Books at one price for everyone: Girl in Pieces Deluxe Edition RM29.00 (from RM49.95), 原子习惯 RM33.90 (from RM53.80), 被讨厌的勇气 RM29.90 (from RM48.90), The Psychology of Money in Malay RM37.50 (from RM50.00), and Kaisar 02 Kudeta RM38.00. That last one lists at RM48.00 in the peninsula and RM51.00 in Sabah and Sarawak, so East Malaysian buyers save RM3 more on the same sale price.

The "Bestsellers, save up to 30%" block adds The Young Scientists Series at RM23.90 each or two for RM39.90 (from RM29.90 each), Komik Solo Leveling volumes 1 to 26 in Malay at two for RM25.00 (RM17.00 Peninsular, RM19.00 East Malaysia each), and EPH Lower Primary Excel in English at RM15.90 (West) or RM19.00 (East).

Stationery with member prices: DELI sticky notes RM6.90 / RM5.90, M&G R3 gel pen 12's RM15.50 / RM14.50, Linfini highlighter 4's RM11.90 / RM9.90, STABILO Swans ARTY set RM14.00 / RM12.00, DELI desktop organiser RM23.90 / RM21.90.

Extras on the same flyer:

  • MONAMI glue stick at RM3.00 nett (8g 3's or 15g 2's, from RM6.70 / RM7.50), for the first 10,000 customers with any purchase, one per customer.
  • PWP on RM60 nett (the RM60 excludes the PWP items): POP BAZIC 330ml stainless coffee mug RM29.90 (from RM59.90) and UGREEN HiTune P3 earphones RM49.90 (from RM69.00 nett), one of each per receipt.
  • HP Smart Tank 580 printer RM459.00 nett (from RM539.00 nett). The poster also flags a RM50 instant rebate and a RM50 Touch 'n Go reward redeemed online; it does not say whether RM459 is before or after the instant rebate, so ask at the counter.

Is the RM12 card worth it this time?

Yes, more clearly than in September, when WOW! had one price for everyone. Worked examples off the flyer:

  • Three books (Ramen Makes Us Complete, The View from Ninety, Children's Animal Encyclopedia): RM207.30 public, RM184.70 member. The RM22.60 gap repays a RM12 one-year POPULAR Card and leaves RM10.60.
  • Five stationery lines (sticky notes, gel pens, highlighters, STABILO set, organiser): RM72.20 public, RM64.20 member. An RM8.00 gap does not cover the card on its own.
  • All eleven lines in the table above: RM348.30 public, RM312.70 member, RM35.60 saved.

Sign-up gifts during Good Reads, Great Value: a PILOT Juice gel pen with a new RM12 one-year card, or a POPULAR mini tote bag with a new or renewed RM25 three-year Privilege Card. If you are going to buy the Privilege card anyway, do it on a day you are buying regular-priced books: from 2 October to 1 November, the same-day Member's Syok Giler Treats gives 30% off regular-priced books and 40% off selected stationery. Its terms exclude nett and promotional items, so it does not touch anything on the Good Reads flyer. We covered it in full separately (link below).

The cheapest card per year is not on any flyer: the POPULAR Student Card is RM12.00 for two years, listed on POPULAR's membership page on 5 October 2026 next to the RM12 one-year card, the RM25 three-year Privilege card and the RM12 Teachers' card.

October WOW!: five stationery lines, one price for everybody

Valid 1 to 31 October 2026 with any purchase of RM10 and above, while stocks last, in store and on POPULAR ONLINE:

  • ZEBRA Sarasa gel pen 0.5mm 3's (limited edition): RM9.90 each, from RM27.80
  • STABILO Swans 1870 colour pencils 36+2L (silver and gold included): RM12.90, from RM24.00
  • POP Bazic Tritan water bottle 1000ml: RM25.00 each, from RM49.90
  • 3M Scotch-Brite general purpose cloth 5pcs: RM18.90, from RM35.20
  • FABER-CASTELL Glide correction tape + 6 refills: RM15.00, from RM28.90

All five: RM81.70 against RM165.80, a 50.7% saving. One line to watch: the same Faber-Castell set was RM13.90 on September's WOW! panel (usual price then printed as RM23.95). It costs RM1.10 more in October, and its printed usual price rose by RM4.95.

Books of the Month, to 30 November

The October poster runs 1 October to 30 November 2026, but its headline WOW! price is October only: Girl in Pieces Deluxe Edition RM29.00 nett (from RM49.95). The rest carry member prices for both months:

  • Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Partypooper (paperback): RM35.90, RM31.90 member
  • Hekate: The Witch (Nikita Gill): RM62.90, RM55.90 member
  • MrBeast: The Most Dangerous Games (James Patterson): RM89.90, RM79.90 member
  • Klara and the Sun (Kazuo Ishiguro): RM59.50, RM51.90 member
  • The Rules of Leadership (Richard Templar): RM58.90, RM52.90 member
  • Thinking, Fast and Slow: RM39.90 for everyone, from RM59.90

Those five member lines total RM307.10 public and RM272.50 member, a RM34.60 gap.

Three bookfairs, and the voucher that outlives its fair

Each fair's terms apply at that fair only. Do not carry one fair's mechanic to another.

  • POPULAR Bookfair @ 1Borneo Hypermall, Kota Kinabalu, Lower Ground, Centre Atrium, 2 to 14 October, 10am to 9pm. Selected English and Malay books: 20% rebate on two or more. PWP on RM60 nett: UZSPACE 700ml thermal flask RM29.90 (from RM79.90), UGREEN HiTune P3 RM49.90. Free straw set with a new or renewed Privilege card, or a Sharpie pen with a one-year card.
  • Pameran Buku POPULAR @ Ampang Point, Ruang Legar, Jalan Mamanda 3, Ampang, 5 to 18 October, 10am to 10pm. Same 20% on two or more selected Malay and English books, plus a free RM5 promotion voucher on RM40 nett in one receipt, and a PWP on RM60 nett (a 950ml bottle and UGREEN earphones; prices are not printed on the published panel). As of 5 October, POPULAR's voucher terms page did not yet list this voucher's validity window.
  • POPULAR Bookfair @ Emart Tabuan Jaya, Kuching, Ground Floor, G20 and G21, still listed until 1 November.

The voucher to keep: the Main Place Mall fair (USJ, 25 September to 4 October) handed out a RM5 promotion voucher on RM50 nett. POPULAR's voucher terms page says it is valid 25 September to 22 October 2026, only at the POPULAR bookstore in Main Place Mall, on a minimum RM40 nett single receipt, not on nett-priced items and not with the members' 10%. Since everything on the Good Reads and WOW! flyers is nett, spend it on regular-priced stock.

Who should skip October

Skip a special trip if your list is textbooks or school assessment books. Apart from the one EPH title, nothing here touches them, and the Baucar Buku MADANI voucher (RM100, to 31 October) is the better route for eligible students.

Skip the member card if you are only after stationery. The member gap on five stationery lines is RM8.00, below the RM12 card, and the October WOW! stationery is the same price with or without one.

Skip stacking expectations. Every Good Reads and WOW! price is nett, POPULAR's standing member discount is defined as 10% off normal-price items, and fair vouchers exclude nett items. Plan two baskets, not one.

The fine print worth reading twice

From the Good Reads, Great Value flyer: applicable at POPULAR/HARRIS bookstores in Malaysia; free items need any purchase of RM10 and above, except nett-priced items; prices vary between Peninsular and East Malaysia; certain items are available at selected bookstores only; all free items while stocks last. PWP purchase sums must exclude the PWP items, one unit of each per customer per receipt per day. October WOW! is valid for the listed items and prices only.

Check before you go: POPULAR Ongoing Promotions and Good Reads, Great Value. The old Super Holiday Promotion page still shows 28 Aug to 16 Sept 2026; ignore it.
