What SOGO Kuala Terengganu runs now is smaller still: a few 32nd Anniversary Sale prices to 11 October, including kids' suit sets at RM32, and two contests that close on 30 September.

The RM19 opening sale is gone

When SNAILS KIDS opened its counter at SOGO Mayang Mall in Kuala Terengganu, SOGO ran a launch promotion: toddler wear from RM19 (usual RM39) per piece, plus a free Kids Tee on a single-receipt spend of RM150 on SNAILS Kidswear, while stocks last. The last valid day was 6 August 2026, and the campaign page for it now returns a 404. On SOGO's Shopify-built site a delisted campaign page is the clearest proof a promotion is finished, so treat the RM19 price as historical. It has not been advertised again, and we are not going to guess at what the counter charges today.

After the opening sale, the SOGO Members' Day Sale (25 August to 6 September 2026) ran at Mayang Mall, with the campaign artwork naming the store explicitly. That sale has ended too, and SOGO has deleted its page.

What SOGO Kuala Terengganu is running now (checked 25 September 2026)

  • SOGO 32nd Anniversary Sale, 12 September to 11 October 2026, all stores. For a children's shopper the relevant line is Cuddles suit sets at RM32 each (normal price RM59) in the Children's Department, with no store restriction printed. The same sale has an Eco Living mesh ironing board at RM32 (normal price RM129) and Versace L'Homme EDT 100ml at RM132 (normal price RM270).
  • Shop & Sweep with SOGO & Bank Islam, to 30 September 2026. A RM100 single receipt earns one entry, or two for Bank Islam Card-i cardmembers. The 40 winners do their sweep at SOGO Kuala Lumpur at their own travel cost.
  • Redeem, Spin & Win, 1 to 30 September 2026. Redeem any Reward Gift with points on the MySOGO app for a spin at the Customer Service Centre, for the first 500 redemptions.
  • Atome X SOGO, to 31 December 2026. RM10 off a minimum RM150 spend, RM40 off a minimum RM400 spend, at Customer Service Centres and selected cashier counters. Excludes the Supermarket, tenanted counters and F&B.

Ended since 17 September: the Extra Points Reward (18 to 20 September: 3x on a RM120 receipt, 5x on RM300, 10x on RM500) and Merdeka Spend & Win (to 20 September). Both campaign pages now return a 404, which on SOGO's site means the promotion is over.

Running now, but not at Kuala Terengganu: most of what SOGO is promoting in late September is held at one KL floor and does not reach Mayang Mall. The one a SNAILS KIDS shopper would want, Baby's Day Out (21 September to 1 October, a free RM10 coupon on a RM100 single receipt from one participating brand), is held in the 7th Floor Event Hall at SOGO Kuala Lumpur only. So are the Warehouse Sale (25 September to 4 October, an Arrow sling bag at RM19 on a RM200 spend), the Triumph and sloggi warehouse sale (20% off three items) and The Great Pet Haul (spin-the-wheel on RM100 at the 5th Floor Home Department). The supermarket Members' Special Deals (21 to 27 September) are printed for a Lower Ground Floor supermarket, which is the KL store's layout. The RM30 cosmetics coupon is back on 25 to 27 September at KL, Shah Alam and JB, and again leaves out Kuala Terengganu.

Ended earlier: the Members' Day Sale and its RM9 jute bag and RM6 canvas bag PWP (6 September), the New Fragrance event at the Beauty Hall (31 August), the Cuti-Cuti Malaysia Contest (16 September) and the I Am Malaysian Early Bird Deals (16 September). SOGO's RM30 cosmetics coupon came back on 16 September at KL, Shah Alam and JB only, and Kuala Terengganu was left out again. The catch that decides whether a SNAILS KIDS purchase counts

Read the exclusions above again and you will see the same two words in the contests and the Atome terms, as they were in the extra-points weekend that just ended: tenanted counters. A department store runs some floor space itself and leases the rest to brands, and spend at a leased counter is routinely carved out of storewide mechanics.

SOGO does not publish which counters at Mayang Mall are tenanted and which are its own concessions, and its published points-earning rules do not repeat that exclusion. So the honest position is: a SNAILS KIDS receipt may or may not earn you the Atome discount or a contest entry, and the only reliable way to find out is to ask at the counter or the Customer Service Centre before you pay. If your whole trip depends on hitting the RM100 Shop & Sweep threshold or the RM150 Atome line, ask first.

What SOGO points are worth, in ringgit

SOGO publishes every number needed to price this yourself. Base earning at the department store is 1 point per RM1 (the Supermarket is 1 point per RM2). During the August 2026 Members' Day Sale that became 5x points above RM150, 10x points above RM500, and all points earned are doubled once spend exceeds RM1,500, with a daily cap of 50,000 doubled points. Points are redeemable from 2,000 points at a fixed 2,000 points = RM10, and each point expires two years after it is earned.

Run that out at Mayang Mall:

  • RM150 spend — 750 points, worth RM3.75, or 2.5% back. Note this is below the 2,000-point redemption floor on its own, so it only becomes spendable once your balance builds.
  • RM500 spend — 5,000 points, worth RM25, or 5% back.
  • RM1,500 spend — 15,000 points doubled to 30,000, worth RM150, or 10% back.

That last tier was the one worth planning around. The 18 to 20 September 2026 extra-points weekend that followed had a lower ladder and no doubling: a RM200 receipt at 3x earned 600 points (RM3), RM350 at 5x earned 1,750 points (RM8.75), and RM500 at 10x earned 5,000 points (RM25). It has ended. With no multiplier running at Kuala Terengganu as of 25 September, a receipt earns the base 1 point per RM1, or 0.5% back: RM300 earns 300 points, worth RM1.50. That is below most cashback cards, so points alone are no reason to time a visit right now.

The reward-gift trap: the same bag, two prices

Here is a discrepancy in SOGO's own numbers that is worth a few ringgit. The SOGO Jute Bag costs 4,500 points in the reward-gift catalogue, and the Canvas Bag costs 2,800 points. At 2,000 points = RM10, those redemptions are worth exactly RM22.50 and RM14 — precisely the normal prices of the same two bags. The reward catalogue prices gifts at full retail in point value.

During the August Members' Day Sale the identical bags were PWP items at RM9 and RM6 cash on a RM100 receipt. That PWP has ended, but the lesson holds: don't burn points on either bag. Points are worth more spent as part payment at the till, and SOGO has run the bags as cheap PWP items before. That PWP allowed one item per receipt and a maximum of two gifts per member per day, so getting both bags meant two separate RM100 receipts.

If you are not a member yet, joining is free through the MySOGO App and the sign-on rewards are stated: 400 bonus points, an RM5 e-Coupon for a first RM150 purchase, and within the first 7 days a further RM20 e-Coupon after that first RM150 purchase, redeemable against an RM300 spend. Tiers run Silver (a minimum RM250 a year keeps it auto-renewing), Gold at RM6,000 to RM11,999 a year, and Platinum at RM12,000 and above.

What SNAILS KIDS is

SNAILS KIDS is the children's line of Malaysian apparel brand Snails, which SOGO's own brand page dates to 1990 and describes as a casual-wear label built on authentic, everyday-quality apparel. The kids' range runs to infant and young-children apparel in bright colours and playful prints, cut for everyday comfort rather than occasion wear. The Mayang Mall counter is its first in Kuala Terengganu.

Two caveats on the brand. First, SOGO's brand directory entry for Snails still lists it only at the Men's Department, 2nd Floor, SOGO Kuala Lumpur — the directory has not been updated to carry the Kuala Terengganu kidswear counter, so do not read the directory as evidence either way about the counter. Second, if you want a sense of current price levels before you drive over, SNAILS runs an official Shopee Malaysia storefront at shopee.com.my/snails.os; online and counter pricing will not necessarily match, but it is the brand's own channel rather than a reseller's.

SOGO Mayang Mall: hours, the Friday break, and how to check

  • Address: Mayang Mall, No. 1, Persiaran Mayang, 20000 Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu.
  • Hours: Monday to Sunday, 10:00am to 10:00pm.
  • The Friday break: SOGO lists a Friday closure from 12:30 to 2:30, printed on its contact page as "12:30am" — evidently a typo for 12:30pm, since it is the Friday prayer break. Terengganu is one of the three states whose weekend is Friday and Saturday, so a Friday visit is both the busiest and the one with a midday gap in it. Plan around early afternoon.

  • Parking: SOGO's member benefits list an RM7 parking rebate on a single transaction of RM300 or more, redeemed through the Whizcity app after scanning your receipt barcode. This is published as a general member benefit rather than a Mayang Mall-specific one, so confirm at the Customer Service Centre before counting on it there.

Who should make the trip — and who shouldn't

Worth a trip before 30 September if you are shopping SOGO Kuala Terengganu anyway. A RM100 single receipt enters Shop & Sweep before it closes, and the Children's Department has Cuddles suit sets at RM32 until 11 October. If you pay with Atome, RM150 on one receipt takes RM10 off, which is worth more than the points. Friday has the 12:30 to 2:30pm prayer break.

Skip the special trip if SNAILS KIDS specifically is the reason. The RM19 launch price is gone, no replacement kidswear offer has appeared, and there is a live possibility the counter is tenanted and therefore excluded from the storewide mechanics. Call first, and go for the sale rather than for the counter.
