> Quick view: Screamfest 5 runs at Sunway Lost World of Tambun in Ipoh on nine nights between 16 October and 1 November 2026, from 7.15pm to 11pm. With the MyKad code WS2608SFMYKAD, an adult pays RM115 instead of RM140 and a child pays RM95 instead of RM115. A family of two adults and two children pays RM420 instead of RM510. The ticket also covers the Hot Springs & Night Park, so it costs only RM10 more per person than an ordinary MyKad night visit.

What Screamfest 5 is

Screamfest is Lost World of Tambun's yearly Halloween night event, and this is its fifth edition. Last year's Screamfest 4 used Malaysian folklore. This year's theme is "Sawadee", with Thai spirits taking over the park after dark. The park's event page promotes it with the Visit Malaysia 2026-2027 and Promising Perak logos.

It only opens on weekends, so plan around these nights:

  • Friday 16 to Sunday 18 October
  • Friday 23 to Sunday 25 October
  • Friday 30 October to Sunday 1 November

Doors for the event run from 7.15pm to 11pm. Your ticket also gets you into the Hot Springs & Night Park, which opens at 6pm. That includes the hot spring pools, the steam cave, Ipoh Street food stalls and the Luminous Forest light trail (8pm to 10pm).

How to get the MyKad price

  1. Open the Screamfest ticket page on the Lost World of Tambun webstore (linked from the "Buy Now" button on sunwaylostworldoftambun.com/screamfest5).
  2. Pick your date carefully. Each ticket is valid for one of the nine nights, for one entry.
  3. Enter the code WS2608SFMYKAD. The webstore says to enter it on both the Theme Park page and the Night Park page if you are buying both.
  4. Bring your MyKad and the original e-voucher. You swap the e-voucher for a wristband at the turnstile. If you cannot show your ID, the park charges the difference to the published online price.

Children are counted by height and age. A child is anyone 90cm or taller and 12 or under. Kids under 90cm enter free.

What it costs: worked examples

All prices below are nett, from the park's own Screamfest page and webstore, read on 2 October 2026.

  • Couple, both with MyKad: 2 x RM115 = RM230, against RM280 at published rates. You save RM50.
  • Two adults and two children (one under 90cm): 2 x RM115 + RM95 = RM325. The toddler is free.
  • Two adults and two children over 90cm: RM420 with MyKad, RM510 without. You save RM90.
  • Day plus night: the theme park MyKad rate is RM125 for an adult, and that ticket only runs to 6pm. Add Screamfest and one adult pays RM240 for the full day and night.

Here is the useful comparison. A regular Hot Springs & Night Park ticket costs RM105 for an adult and RM85 for a child at MyKad rates. Screamfest adds the haunted zones and actors for just RM10 more per head.

The annual pass angle

The Screamfest banner carries a "Free Entry for members" badge. The Hot Springs & Night Park Annual Pass costs RM198 for Malaysians (published rate RM648) and covers 6pm to 11pm daily for 12 months. One Screamfest night at RM115 plus one ordinary night at RM105 already comes to RM220. So for an Ipoh local who would come back for the hot springs, the pass beats a single Screamfest ticket.

Two warnings before you buy it for this reason. First, the pass terms say it excludes separately priced events. The banner says members enter free, but it is not clear which pass types count, so call 05-542 8888 and confirm. Second, a new pass takes up to 5 working days to activate and the physical card has to be collected at the membership counter. Buy it early in October if you want it ready for the first weekend.

Who it suits, and who should skip it

It suits Ipoh and Perak families, groups of friends who like haunted houses, and KL people already driving up for a weekend. If you would visit the hot springs anyway, Screamfest makes that visit better value.

Skip it with young children who scare easily, since this is a horror event full of costumed actors. Skip it too if you are not Malaysian, because the RM115 price is for MyKad holders only.

Fine print that trips people up

  • No refunds, no changes. A ticket cannot be exchanged, revalidated, extended or cancelled after purchase.
  • No re-entry. Once you leave, you cannot go back in that night.
  • No outside food or drinks, including inside the haunted attractions.
  • Attractions can close without notice, and the park can refuse anyone who behaves badly or jumps queues.
  • Seniors (60 and above) pay RM115 on the webstore. The poster does not list a separate MyKad senior rate.
  • Tuesdays are closed at the theme park, but that does not affect Screamfest, which only runs Friday to Sunday.
