> Quick view: on every Friday in October and November 2026, TGI Fridays Malaysia adds a free main course to the table when you buy two drinks. The pairings are fixed. The Fridays Signature Glazed Steak brings a free Southwest Mac & Cheese (worth RM39.90), and the Grilled Lamb Rack brings a free Fish & Chips (worth RM33.90). It runs all day, dine-in only, at all nine outlets, with the last Friday on 27 November.

How Fabulous Fridays works

TGI Fridays calls it "Buy 1, Get 1 with purchase of any 2 drinks". In practice it works like this:

  1. Go on a Friday, any time the restaurant is open, and sit down. Takeaway and delivery orders do not qualify.
  2. Order two beverages. The terms say "any two", so a soft drink, a coffee or a mocktail all count on paper.
  3. Order one of the two "buy" mains: the Fridays Signature Glazed Steak or the Grilled Lamb Rack.
  4. The matching "get" main comes free. The steak is paired with the Southwest Mac & Cheese, and the lamb rack is paired with the Fish & Chips.

You cannot swap the free dish for something else. The campaign poster lists only those two pairings, and the promotion page on fridays.com.my uses the same poster as its menu.

What it costs, with real menu prices

These figures come from TGI Fridays' own menu pages, read on 11 October 2026. They are menu prices before the 10% service charge and government tax that every bill carries.

  • Signature Glazed Steak: NY strip 300g RM97.90, or ribeye 300g RM129.90. It comes with cheddar mashed potatoes, bean broccoli and extra glaze.
  • Free with it, Southwest Mac & Cheese: RM39.90 on the menu. It is cheesy pasta with grilled chicken and red peppers under a Parmesan crust.
  • Grilled Lamb Rack: RM92.90, with roasted vegetables and potato salad. You pick one flavour: Signature Glaze, Caribbean, Texas Spiced or Classic BBQ.
  • Free with it, Fish & Chips: RM33.90 on the menu, with fries, coleslaw and tartar sauce.

Worked examples for two people

The steak pairing. A NY strip glazed steak (RM97.90) and two bottomless sodas (RM11.90 each) come to RM121.70, and the Mac & Cheese is free. Without the deal the same table costs RM161.60. You save RM39.90, about a quarter of the bill.

The ribeye version. Choose the ribeye and the total is RM153.70 against RM193.60. The saving is the same RM39.90, so it matters less as a share of a bigger bill.

The lamb pairing. A lamb rack (RM92.90) and two iced lattes (RM10.90 each) come to RM114.70, with Fish & Chips free. That would otherwise be RM148.60, so you save RM33.90.

A reality check. Two people who would normally order a Wicked Chicken (RM35.90) and a Fish & Chips (RM33.90) with two sodas spend RM93.50. That is still less than either promo table. The deal only saves money if one of you was going to order the steak or the lamb anyway.

Who it suits, and who should skip it

It suits couples or friends where one person wants a proper steak or lamb dinner and the other is happy with mac and cheese or fish and chips. Office groups doing a Friday lunch can make it work too, because it runs all day rather than at dinner only.

Skip it if neither of you wants the free dish, because you cannot change it. Weekday lunch regulars should compare it with The Affordable$ menu (Monday to Friday, 11am to 3pm, excluding public holidays). The two cannot be combined, and a cheap set lunch may still beat a steak with a free side main.

TGI Fridays' Facebook announcement says the offer runs across all outlets. The KLCC menu page online does not show the Fabulous Fridays poster yet, so if you are heading to KLCC, it is worth asking when you book.

Fine print that trips people up

  • Two drinks are compulsory. The cheapest items on the drinks list are mineral water at RM4.90 and hot coffee or tea at RM9.90. The terms say any two beverages, but ask before you rely on two bottles of water.
  • Fridays only, and not on public holidays. None of the remaining Fridays in October and November falls on a public holiday in KL, Selangor or Johor, so all seven should qualify.
  • No stacking. It cannot be used with the kids menu or any other ongoing promotion. That rules out the Spooky Halloween Feast, Fondue-It and The Affordable$ on the same bill.
  • Service charge and tax still apply. The menu adds 10% service charge and government tax. Ask whether they are calculated before or after the free main is taken off.
  • Book on a busy Friday. Fridays are the brand's own big night. Reservations are taken online through the link on fridays.com.my.
