Queensbay Mall's 'Our Malaysia, Our Pride': RM50 Buys a Kid a Batik Workshop, RM388 Buys a Handkerchief — the Cheapest Rung Is the Best One
Queensbay Mall in Bayan Lepas is running "Our Malaysia, Our Pride", its Merdeka and Malaysia Day 2026 campaign, through to 20 September 2026 — and unlike most mall Merdeka campaigns, this one is not a single spend-and-redeem line. It is a four-rung spend ladder (RM50, RM100, RM288, RM388) sitting on top of a free exhibition, six free cultural performances by Dewan Budaya Universiti Sains Malaysia, and six heritage-craft workshops for children run with the Penang History Gallery. The structure is upside down in a way that works in your favour: the cheapest rung, RM50 in a single receipt, is the one that buys a child a place at a batik, gasing or kah kiak making workshop — something you cannot buy at all elsewhere in the mall — while the top rung, RM388 across a maximum of two same-day receipts, buys a batik handkerchief and does not open until 16 September, four days before the campaign ends.
