Pet Boarding and Cat Hotels in Penang 2026: Eight Places, Published Prices From RM25 a Night, and Why Dog Owners Must Phone
Going away for Deepavali, Christmas or the school break? We checked eight Penang boarding places that are trading in 2026. Five publish prices, from RM25 a night at a Bukit Mertajam cat hotel to RM130 for a 16 square metre glass suite in Bayan Baru. Four of those five take cats only. For dogs, only Ritz Pawton in Tanjung Bungah publishes a rate (RM55 a night up), so the rest is a phone call.
Pet Boarding Prices in KL and the Klang Valley 2026: What a Night Really Costs Once You Add the Air-Con, the Spot-On and the Checkout Clock
A night of pet boarding in the Klang Valley runs from RM30 to RM235, and the headline figure is rarely the bill. Six operators publish their rates in full, and once you read the small print the same night can cost very different money: G-Pet's RM55 dog kennel is fan-cooled, with air-conditioning at RM10 a day and a live CCTV feed at RM25 a day on top, while L Residence's RM235 suite includes both and adds a compulsory tick and flea spot-on at RM35 to RM60. One operator does not charge you for the check-out day at all. Another charges by the calendar day, which turns a Saturday afternoon drop-off and a Sunday morning pick-up into two nights. We read every published rate card and set of terms this run, and set out what is included, what is a surcharge and which vaccination rule turns pets away at the door.
