Pet grooming and boarding in Klang Valley ranges from purpose-built cat-only hotels to general dog-and-cat groomers tucked into shoplots, with pricing transparency varying wildly — some publish full per-night room rates online, others push every enquiry to WhatsApp. This list sticks to businesses with a verifiable current website, and every rate below was re-checked against the operator's own site in August 2026.

What you'll actually pay in 2026

Three pricing models dominate Klang Valley, and knowing which one you're dealing with saves a lot of back-and-forth:

Room-tier pricing is the most common. You pick a room size and pay per night regardless of your pet's build. COCOMOMO runs Dog Deluxe at RM60 (small/medium) or RM80 (large), a Suite at RM125 and a Royal Suite at RM150; Catzonia's cat rooms go Comfy RM50 (up to 3 cats), VIC RM70 (up to 5), VVIC RM100 (up to 6) and Super VIC RM150 (up to 10). Pets Grooming Hotel sits at the affordable end — RM50/night for a dog Deluxe Room, RM35 for the cat equivalent.

Weight-band pricing is rarer and better value for small dogs. G-Pet Hotel in Shah Alam charges RM50/day up to 10kg, RM55 for 11-25kg, RM60 for 26-45kg and RM65 above 45kg — so a 6kg terrier boards for less there than in most tiered rooms.

Quote-on-enquiry, used by Patty's Pet Hotel, Ollie & Hana and Boarding Buddy. Not a red flag on its own — cage-free and home-boarding setups genuinely price by temperament, size and how many other dogs are in-house — but budget an extra day for the WhatsApp exchange before a peak-season trip.

The add-ons that move the bill

Headline rates rarely cover everything, and the extras are where a RM50/night stay quietly becomes RM75. G-Pet publishes its list plainly: air-conditioned room RM10/day, refrigerated storage for food or medicine RM6/day, medication administration RM6/dose, live CCTV access RM25/day, a daily walk RM15, and one-way transport RM180/trip. It also runs a compulsory arrival flea inspection — if fleas are found, a flea dip costs RM45-120 by dog size. COCOMOMO charges RM50 per dog per pool entry, which includes indoor park access. At Pets Grooming Hotel, grooming add-ons are itemised rather than bundled: dematting from RM15, medicated shampoo from RM15, coat treatment from RM15, conditioner from RM10 and tick/flea treatment from RM25.

Two operators reward longer stays. Pets Grooming Hotel sells boarding packages at RM42/night for 10 nights and RM40/night for 20 nights (excluded during peak periods), and throws in free basic grooming on stays over six nights. G-Pet discounts monthly boarding 10% and yearly boarding 50%.

How to pick, by situation

You have a cat and want a proper cattery. Catzonia is the strongest pick — purpose-built, cat-only, nine outlets including Wangsa Maju (KL), Damansara Perdana (PJ), USJ 21, Shah Alam and Bangi, with real per-night pricing published across four room tiers. Note it closes Wednesdays and takes an RM20 booking deposit, so don't plan a Wednesday drop-off.

You want the cheapest honest per-night rate. Pets Grooming Hotel at Main Place, USJ 21 — RM35/night for a cat Deluxe Room and RM50 for the dog equivalent, with additional pets at RM15 and RM20 respectively.

Your dog is small, or staying a month. G-Pet Hotel's weight bands and 10% monthly discount make it the value option for compact dogs and long trips, though the 9am-4pm daily window is tight for after-work pickups.

You don't want your dog in a cage. Patty's Pet Hotel is the best-known cage-free operator inside KL proper, with branches at Jalan Ipoh (Taman Kok Lian) and Plaza Arkadia, Desa Parkcity. Boarding Buddy in SS17 Subang Jaya goes further — actual home boarding, dogs only, by appointment.

You want grooming, boarding and a vet-adjacent service in one trip. Ollie & Hana runs four outlets (Jaya One PJ, United Point Kepong, The Rivercity and Kuchai Sentral), open 365 days a year, and layers dental scaling, training and acupuncture on top of the hotel and grooming.

You need a pool or enrichment, not just a room. COCOMOMO's five-storey Old Klang Road building has an indoor park and rooftop pool, plus a second cat-faced outlet at Eco Ardence, Setia Alam.

Two things to sort before you book

Ask what vaccination proof is required — most Klang Valley boarders want current vaccination records at check-in, and G-Pet's arrival flea check can add an unbudgeted RM45-120. And book peak periods early: Patty's opened Merdeka holiday boarding well ahead of the long weekend, and school holidays plus Hari Raya are when cage-free and home-boarding slots disappear first.
