The discount itself

  • 10% off the entire cat litter range, 2-29 September 2026, at AEON BiG hypermarkets nationwide
  • Normal prices across the range run RM11.90 to RM33.50, so the discount is worth roughly RM1.19 to RM3.35 a bag
  • It is a flat percentage on the shelf price, not a fixed-price offer — there is no printed purchase limit, no minimum spend and no member-card requirement anywhere on the catalogue
  • The packs pictured are FIDO natural tofu litter, FIDO pine litter, Tornado 10L in two variants, a Living Choice cat litter sand and a clumping bentonite sand

The seven outlets that don't get it

AEON BiG applies exclusions in two layers, and they are not the same list.

The catalogue-wide rule, printed at the top of every page, is that all promotions exclude AEON BiG Sri Petaling and Penang Prai. Nothing on the Pet Fair works at those two.

The cat litter discount then carries a second footnote of its own, in six-point type under the litter photos, naming seven branches:

  • Sri Petaling
  • Bukit Minyak
  • Ipoh
  • Danau Kota
  • Jaya One
  • Penang Prai
  • Palm Mall

Sri Petaling and Penang Prai were already out. So the litter footnote is really adding five branches — Bukit Minyak, Ipoh, Danau Kota, Jaya One and Palm Mall — that are running the Pet Fair normally in every other respect. Walk into the Ipoh or Jaya One store and you will find the SmartHeart, Whiskas, Purina and Pedigree prices live, the free-treat mechanic live, and the litter at full shelf price. That is the trap this article exists to flag.

In August the same footnote listed six names. Penang Prai has been added for September, which finally brings the litter list into line with the catalogue-wide ban.

Is the trip worth it?

Work it against the size of your usual bag, not the headline:

  • A RM11.90 bag saves RM1.19. Not worth a detour to a different branch.
  • A RM20 bag saves RM2.00.
  • A RM33.50 bag — the top of the range — saves RM3.35. Buy three and you are RM10 ahead.

If your nearest AEON BiG is on the excluded list, the honest answer is usually no: the nearest included branch has to be close enough that the fuel and the time cost less than a few ringgit a bag. Litter is heavy and bulky, so the calculation is about how many bags you can carry in one trip, not about the percentage.

Where it does pay off is a genuine bulk restock at an included outlet — three or four large bags in one go, timed to land inside the 2-29 September window, ideally on the same trip as the rest of the Pet Fair shop.

The litter discount is one line on a much longer catalogue. Fine print

  • The exclusion footnote sits under the litter photos, not in the catalogue header — it is easy to miss on a phone screen
  • The catalogue also carries the blanket line "Selected products in this promotion are not available at selected AEON BiG Hypermarkets", so individual litter brands may still be out of stock at an included branch
  • Nothing on the catalogue states a member-card requirement or a per-customer cap on the litter discount
  • Old Pet Fair catalogues stay downloadable on AEON BiG's own promotions page, which is how the August and September exclusion lists above were compared directly
