> Quick view: AEON Kota Bharu has two things going at once. Its Sultan Kelantan's Birthday Celebration Deals run from 24 September to 4 October 2026, and on Saturday 3 October the store holds its AEON VIP Day, a members-only day with RM5 or RM10 back for every RM100 spent in one receipt. If you shop there once this fortnight, Saturday is the day that pays twice.

Why this one is Kelantan's own

AEON publishes a separate leaflet for AEON Kota Bharu to mark the Sultan of Kelantan's birthday, which falls on 29 September with state holidays on 29 and 30 September this year. Nothing in it applies at AEON stores in other states. The VIP Day is part of AEON's 42nd anniversary, but AEON only gives each VIP Day to a few named stores, and 3 October is Kota Bharu's turn (shared with AEON AU2 in Setiawangsa and AEON Melaka in Ayer Keroh). For Kelantan shoppers, there is no second VIP Day date to wait for.

Saturday is also a weekend day in Kelantan, so expect the mall to be busy from opening.

VIP Day, Saturday 3 October: how it works

  1. Be an AEON member. AEON's VIP Day poster calls it "a special day just for AEON Members". Sign up in the AEON Wallet app before you go, not at the till.
  2. Supermarket: every RM100 in a single receipt earns an RM5 e-voucher, issued with your receipt. Home Coordy and household items displayed in the supermarket area do not count here.
  3. General Merchandise (GMS): every RM100 in a single receipt earns an RM10 voucher, redeemed at the designated counter. Home Coordy and those household items do count here.
  4. Go early for the early-bird list. Limited units only: a Midea 1.0HP inverter air-conditioner at RM899 (NP RM1,229, 10 units), a Toshiba 410L fridge at RM1,399 (NP RM2,715, 10 units), a Toshiba 7kg dryer at RM699 (NP RM1,849, 5 units) and a Tefal steam iron at RM79 (NP RM199, 50 units).
  5. Two in-store games. Spend at least RM100 storewide in one receipt to join the Wind Catcher Challenge at 2pm or the Sweet Scoop Challenge at 5pm. Places are limited.

Worked examples

A household top-up. Kleenex (RM24.90), Dynamo (RM31.90), Royal Gold (RM10.90) and Sunlight dishwashing liquid 800ml (RM5.60) come to RM73.30 at birthday prices, against RM105.75 at normal price. That is RM32.45 saved. Buy them on Saturday with another RM26.70 of eligible groceries in the same receipt and you clear RM100 for an RM5 e-voucher as well.

An appliance run. The Philips air fryer on the VIP Day leaflet is RM199 (NP RM309). As a GMS purchase it clears the first RM100, so a member gets one RM10 voucher on top, taking the effective saving to RM120. Add RM1 more of GMS items to the same receipt and you are in line for a second RM10 voucher.

Electrical top-up rewards. Separately, AEON runs an "Amplifying Your Rewards" offer from 1 to 31 October: spend RM300 or more on participating electrical brands (ELBA, Faber, Cornell, Russell Taylors, a'gourmet, Hanabishi) and get AEON reward vouchers from RM5 (RM150 to RM300) up to RM50 (RM1,501 and above), per the leaflet's table.

Who should go, and who can skip it

It suits Kota Bharu families doing a month-end stock-up, anyone who has been waiting to replace an air-conditioner or fridge, and shoppers already heading to AEON Mall Kota Bharu on the weekend. Skip VIP Day if you are not an AEON member and do not want to become one, or if your basket is mostly rice, cooking oil and infant formula, which are excluded from the vouchers.

The fine print that trips people up

  • Extravaganza Deals earn nothing. The VIP Day headliners (Sumo Calrose rice 5kg RM26.99, Oldtown white coffee RM14.99, Dutch Lady UHT 3x1L RM16.90, Hup Seng cream crackers 2 for RM8) are expressly "not entitled to AEON VIP Day e-vouchers / vouchers".
  • Other voucher exclusions listed by AEON: government-controlled products (local rice, palm oil, sugar and flour), festive hampers, infant milk powder, Eu Yan Sang products, Apple products, gift vouchers, bags, stamps, cigarettes, telco reloads and Touch 'n Go top-ups.
  • Single receipt, per department. Supermarket and GMS spending are counted separately. RM60 in each gets you nothing.
  • Member prices need a member. Items tagged "AEON Member Special" show a higher non-member price.
  • While stocks last applies to every Buy 1 Free 1 and early-bird line.

Getting there

AEON Kota Bharu is in AEON Mall Kota Bharu, Lembah Sireh, 15050 Kota Bharu. The mall opens 10am to 10pm Saturday to Wednesday and 10am to 10.30pm on Thursday, Friday and the eve of public holidays, and closes 12.30pm to 2.30pm on Fridays for prayers.
