> Quick view: Entopia charges RM65 for a Malaysian adult and RM75 for a foreign adult at the counter, but few visitors need to pay that. Its own promotions page lists more than 30 running discounts, most valid until 31 December 2026. The best ones are 30% off for Penangites on Tuesdays, 20% off with a recent AirAsia boarding pass, and a walk-in family package that beats every bank card deal. Foreign visitors should buy online, where the Standard adult ticket was RM65 on 17 September 2026, not RM75.

Entopia by Penang Butterfly Farm sits on Jalan Teluk Bahang, past Batu Ferringhi, and is one of the pricier attractions on the island. It is also one of the few that publishes its discounts in full, with a separate terms page for each. We read every one of them and priced the ticket store, so this is a guide to which deal to use rather than a list of all 30.

The prices you are discounting from

Entopia's visitor information page sets out two price tiers. MyKad prices apply to Malaysian citizens and permanent residents. Standard prices apply to everyone else.

  • Adult (13 and above): RM65 MyKad, RM75 Standard
  • Child (4 to 12) or senior (60 and above): RM45 MyKad, RM55 Standard
  • Children 3 and below: free. Visitors with a valid OKU card also enter free during the day.
  • Walk-in family packages: 2 adults + 2 children RM202 MyKad (RM238 Standard); 2 adults + 3 children RM238 (RM282); up to 2 adults + 6 children at RM346 (RM414)
  • Entopia by Night: RM40 adult, RM30 child or senior, Thursday to Sunday 7pm to 10pm, online booking only

One thing the rate card doesn't tell you: on 17 September 2026 the online ticket store charged RM65 for a Standard adult and RM45 for a Standard child or senior, the same as the MyKad price. An online e-ticket is valid for a single entry within 45 days of purchase, so a tourist can buy it before the trip.

The five deals worth knowing

1. Penang-Kia Day: 30% off every Tuesday

This is the biggest discount on the list. On Tuesdays, holders of a MyKad with Penang state code 07, 34 or 35, or anyone with a Penang residential address, pay RM45.50 for an adult and RM31.50 for a child or senior. Each Penang MyKad covers one ticket, and each Penangite may bring one Malaysian friend from another state at the same rate. It is walk-in only, it must be paid by card or e-wallet (no cash), and you have to show the original MyKad or proof of address at the counter. It runs until 31 December 2026. Full terms.

2. A recent AirAsia or China Southern boarding pass: 20% off

Show an AirAsia boarding pass dated within the last 30 days, printed or on your phone, together with your MyKad or ID, and you get 20% off up to four tickets in one transaction. It applies to both MyKad and Standard tickets, walk-in only, until 31 December 2026. China Southern Airlines passengers get the same 20% on the same terms. For anyone who flew into Penang, this is usually the best deal available.

3. Meals + Tix Combo: tickets with lunch at Tapestree

The combos bundle entry with a meal at Tapestree Café, the restaurant inside the park.

  • Set A or B (MyKad), RM175 instead of RM207: two adult tickets, a Golden Platter, a Signature Chicken Chop with Fries (Set A) or Fish & Chips (Set B), and two canned drinks
  • Set D or E (MyKad), RM60 instead of RM76: one child ticket, a Mac & Cheese plus five chicken nuggets with fries (Set D) or a Spaghetti Bolognese with a cheese toast sandwich (Set E), and a bottle of water
  • Standard versions: RM185 instead of RM227, and RM70 instead of RM86

The dishes are fixed and can't be swapped. The combos are sold both online and at the counter, and are valid "until further notice".

4. Bank cards: RM10 off a RM75 bill

Maybank, CIMB, UOB and Bank Islam credit and debit cards, and JCB cards, each take RM10 off a minimum spend of RM75 on walk-in tickets. That is a weak deal. One Malaysian adult ticket (RM65) doesn't reach the minimum, and two adults save only RM10 on RM130.

5. Hotel and member codes: 20% off online

Guests of more than a dozen Penang hotels can ask the front desk for a code worth 20% off tickets bought on Entopia's website. The list includes Penang Marriott, DoubleTree Resort by Hilton, Sunway Hotel Georgetown, Travelodge Georgetown, Lone Pine, Jazz Hotel, MSocial and St. Giles Wembley. Unifi customers (via the MyUnifi app), ONYX Rewards members, Pantai Hospital Penang app users and BNI members get the same 20% online. Meriah Mydin members get 15% off up to four MyKad tickets at the counter, cashless only.

Worked examples

A Penang couple on a Tuesday. Two Penang MyKads at RM45.50 each come to RM91, against RM130 at the normal price. That saves RM39. If one partner is from Kedah, the Penangite can bring them in as their Malaysian friend and the total is the same.

A Penang family of four on a Tuesday. Two adults and two children at the Penang-Kia rate cost RM154, compared with RM202 for the walk-in family package. That saves another RM48. The terms only mention MyKad or a Penang address, so bring the children's MyKid and a document showing your Penang address, and ask at the counter before you pay.

A family from KL on a Saturday, after flying AirAsia. Two adults and two children at MyKad prices normally cost RM220. With the boarding pass discount that drops to RM176, which is RM26 less than the RM202 family package. Without a boarding pass, the family package is the cheapest way in. A Maybank card would bring RM220 down only to RM210.

A couple from Singapore, no flight. At the counter they would pay RM150 for two Standard tickets. Online they pay RM130. If their hotel is on Entopia's list, the 20% code applies to the online price as well.

A couple staying for lunch. Two MyKad tickets and the same Tapestree meal cost RM207 separately. Combo Set A costs RM175, a saving of RM32, but only if you would have ordered the Golden Platter and a main anyway.

Is the RM200 Discovery Pass worth it?

The Entopia Discovery Pass costs RM200 per person aged 4 and above, and gives unlimited day entry for 365 days. It also takes 25% off up to two extra tickets per visit and gives perks at Tapestree and the Entopia Store. For a Malaysian adult, the pass pays for itself on the fourth visit (three visits cost RM195). For a child, it takes five visits (four cost RM180). It is sold online only, it only activates seven days after purchase, it can't be transferred, and it doesn't cover Entopia by Night. It suits Penang families who treat the park as a regular weekend outing, not visitors from outside the state.

Who should skip the promotions

If you are a single Malaysian adult visiting on a weekend, with no Penang MyKad and no recent flight, there is no deal that beats the RM65 ticket. The bank card discounts need a RM75 bill, and the hotel codes need a hotel. Pay the normal price, or buy online if you want the ticket sorted before you set off.

Fine print that trips people up

  • Nothing stacks. Every set of terms bars combining with other promotions, and specifically with the family packages. Pick the single biggest discount.
  • Walk-in versus online matters. Penang-Kia Day, the boarding pass, bank card and Meriah Mydin deals only work at the counter. The hotel, Unifi, ONYX and Pantai codes only work online.
  • Walk-in promo tickets are for that day only. A ticket bought under these offers is only valid on the date of purchase.
  • Entopia by Night is excluded from every day-ticket promotion. It gives its own perk instead: each Entopia by Night ticket gets 20% off one walk-in day ticket within 30 days.
  • The UOB terms page has a typo. It says the offer runs from 1 January 2026 until 31 December 2025. Entopia's promotions list gives the end date as 31 December 2026.
  • No refunds for rain. All tickets are "rain or shine" and non-refundable.
